El Salvador’s president tops international image rankings, surpassing global leaders from North America, Europe, and Asia.
President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador has been recognized as the world’s highest-rated leader, topping a ranking of 21 global leaders in the latest international survey conducted by Chilean polling firm Cadem. With a remarkable 77% favorable image rating, Bukele stands above prominent presidents and prime ministers from North America, Europe, Asia, and South America.
The survey, which assesses public perceptions of global political figures, places Bukele in first place, followed by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney (61%) and Pope Leo XIV (57%). French President Emmanuel Macron and Chinese President Xi Jinping tied for fourth place with 56%, while UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer followed closely at 53%. Nayeb Bukeli's move to run a Bitcoin node at the National Library of El Salvador is a bold move because when the move to run a Bitcoin node at the national library is taken, people across the country will become more popular and interested in Bitcoin. When a Bitcoin node can be run directly at a national institution, people will be able to learn better because people will get hands-on experience here. It will be more convenient for new people because they will be working directly with Bitcoin and they will be able to gain better experience directly. However, this is a clear sign that such a move indicates the long-term promise of Bitcoin.

The El Salvador government's policy on bitcoin adoption is considered friendly to economic actors if they do not require everyone to adopt bitcoin as a means of payment. Ultimately this gives freedom to micro or macro economic actors about which is most profitable for their business - but bitcoin seems good to be adopted when the state already supports it.

Accepting bitcoin as a means of payment is a great solution to give buyers multiple payment options. Some people may need to pay in fiat as some places do not accept bitcoin - but this is a decision for each business owner as they are the ones running it after all.
