How much is the mayor of Miami interested in digital currencies?
Francis Suarez has allowed citizens to use digital currency ATMs as well as pay taxes with digital currencies!
(https://cointelegraph.com/news/miami-stakes-the-claim-to-become-the-world-s-bitcoin-and-crypto-capital)

This happened after El Salvador accepted bitcoin as one of its payment systems, and it seems that we should see increasing demand for digital currency payment systems in various cities and countries every day.
Statistics from countries that use digital currencies as part of their daily payments are not small.
Here is a list of Bitcoin ATM cities:

Mayor Francis Suarez has been pretty hot on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies (or technology businesses in general) for a while now. I believe this is one of his Bitcoin-bullish tweets, and it dates back to as early as January 2021.

It's great to see a list of progressive nations with progressive leaders. Unfortunately my country with a fascist leader and regressive mindset couldn't make to the list. They even arrested a crypto exchange owner for installing a crypto ATM. But that's another matter. I sometime wonder how much contrast we get to see in the same world where we all live. That's why in a progressive nation we always see stories of prosperity and in regressive nations we see stories of horrific incidents and wealth distribution inequality.

El Salvador is the new entrant to this list but the mayor of Miami deserves a special mention most definitely. He turned around the mindset of the city residents towards crypto through he visionary reforms.

Here is a list of Bitcoin ATM cities:

Those are countries!!!! And if we go by the number of ATMs per city, Miami is nowhere near the title of capital, with only 513 compared to Los Angeles with 1215.
But that means little, the numbers of ATMs are dependent on population and income, there is little a small down with 500k could do to compete with a 20 million metro area.

Francis Suarez has allowed citizens to use digital currency ATMs

Allowed???

Mayor Francis Suarez has been pretty hot on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies (or technology businesses in general) for a while now. I believe this is one of his Bitcoin-bullish tweets, and it dates back to as early as January 2021.

Pretty weird, I tried searching for older news about him and Bitcoin and I couldn't find any, I could have sworn that he was a crypto enthusiast for years now, probably I've mistaken him with somebody else but I'm pretty sure there was something about a city in Florida accepting bitcoin for tax payments way earlier, like 2019 or something. Still, I'm waiting for him some plans on how he will try to snatch some crypto-related business to set shop in Miami, he faces stiff competition with states like Texas attracting a lot of tech companies lately, and unless he gets help from the state as mayor he has limited powers, it's all about taxes in the end.

Soon, more and more countries will follow others and adopt bitcoin. Eventually, number of atm will increase day by day.

It's great to see a list of progressive nations with progressive leaders. Unfortunately my country with a fascist leader and regressive mindset couldn't make to the list.

Same for my country, but hoping to see some major steps towards cryptocurrency as private blockchain is supported in here. Soon, they might consider public blockchain aka cryptocurrency. Moreover, news media is having bad impacts on this by making clickbait/misleading news title about it. Lets see what happen next.

Counties are promoting crypto-currency, but I want to understand that this is pure and not patronage for the government interests, from what I have read El-salvador has opened to it's citizens an option that being crypto-currency, that will make payment less of a problem.
Hearing stories including that of Bitcoin ATM installation I get angered with the mentality of some government, including mine, I think countries deep rooting themselves to crypto-currency are countries with a vision, and interested in the concerns of it citizens.

Right. Miami Mayor Francis Suarez shares tangible paths to expanding Bitcoin adoption citywide, including allowing city employees to be paid in BTC. Yes, this is really a welcoming news, but as far as capital of the world digital currencies, I would say Singapore will be on the top of the list. The thing though is that it is Miami, one of the biggest cities in the USA that's why it has gain so much traction in the media.

And we have to thank the Mayor, he has been very bullish on bitcoin lately and do we hope that other mayors will also follow what he has started. Wouldn't hurt isn't it?

Kickstarting the adoption of digital currencies is still a good initiative since most of the finance guys are predicting crypto is going to be at the forefront of the financial crisis that is currently going on.

The innovations in cryptocurrencies are fascinating than just sticking to the old system, the FED is not even talking about going back to the gold standard. There is nothing to lose for Miami and just like El Salvador, there is nothing to lose.

Statistics from countries that use digital currencies as part of their daily payments are not small.

Probably very small if put in comparison with the opposite, insignificant even. However, I am interested to see some figures which somehow prove that there is indeed high stats in so many countries as far as day-to-day cryptocurrency spending is concerned. Surely, though, cryptocurrency or Bitcoin ATMs and how widespread they are cannot be made as a measure as to the level of use of cryptocurrency or Bitcoin in daily payments.

It is very possible that other cities will follow, not only Miami.
I can relate this with what happened in El Salvador, it's like a virus that is spreading. I am positive that in the next short period of time, there will be another country that will do what El Salvador did and that is what I am looking forward to in Miami too. Miami will become a model.

He was pretty interested in it afaik. There were quite a few articles of him supporting cryptocurrency, notably, the one thing I remembered is that he wanted Miami to be the "next wave of innovation". Most news I've heard of dated back around 3 months ago I think?

This happened after El Salvador accepted bitcoin as one of its payment systems, and it seems that we should see increasing demand for digital currency payment systems in various cities and countries every day.
Well, that is if the governing body even accepts Bitcoin as payment in the first place. There are still a lot of skeptical ones and probably a lot that doesn't even know of it, that or they can't implement it due to various reasons. I'd also like to think that they could, but well, circumstances offer that well, they can't.

It doesn't surprise me to see the US with over 1000 bitcoin atms..But, seeing Miami being so progressive towards it does. I would think San Francisco/Silicon Valley or New York City would be in the top spot as they're larger or more "technically savvy." Florida has a republican governor which makes it even more surprising to see Miami doing all of that. It's great, though! I'd love to start seeing other cities allow you to pay taxes with crypto.

First of all "digital currencies" is a much bigger category that includes any currency that is "digital" like PayPal for example.
Secondly these are bitcoin ATMs not digital currency ATMs and I don't even think you can buy altcoins from them.
And finally mayor of Miami "allowing" ATMs in his jurisdiction doesn't magically make Miami "capital of the world of cryptocurrencies"! In case you didn't know there has been lots of ATMs in different jurisdictions and different countries. Not to mention that ATMs don't really matter much, adoption matters and adoption is eased if the government accepted bitcoin as a currency or as legal tender and stopped charging huge taxes each time you use bitcoin, instead of making meaningless gestures such as this one.

This is the country in which my family lives, and they impose severe restrictions on them, from dealing with digital currency miners to banning exchange offices from buying and selling digital currencies.
Let us wish that all countries become like El Salvador.

If Miami becomes a Bitcoin-friendly city, we have to wait for the price of bitcoin to rise! When bitcoin trading volume in a crowded city like Miami increases, prices will definitely rise.
Certainly, if this is done successfully, Miami can have a city based on the bitcoin system, and perhaps the generations after Francis Suarez will thank it.

Looks like the list will change sooner as EL Salvador is not considering Bitcoin as legal tender for sure they will installed tons of Bitcoin ATM all over the place.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But indeed that Miami Mayor is a 1000% supported of bitcoin from the releases comes from himself since he steps in as Mayor of that State.
It don't surprise me that it's USA but I don't necessarily agree that Miami is the capital for digital currency, there's South Korea and Tokyo or Shenzen, these cities are much more technology inclined than Miami.
Actually your title is misleading and contradict your findings because digital currencies and btc have some differences like decentralisation.Moreover Miami mayor Francis Suarez is Bitcoin enthusiast not the whole crypto market like altcoins.He has pledged to make Miami Bitcoin hub like paying salaries to employees and taxes in bitcoin which is different from your digital currencies which you know.Bitcoin and other cryptos have huge difference among them and you are referring to all the coins as digital which is not right point.Bitcoin ATM's are installed at many places where crypto is not even recognised at high level so what have he allowed? Miami is say at this time becoming btc hub like this year Bitcoin conference was held in Miami and Mayor welcomed all the guests there which shows his true support to the currency.You should not mix CDBC with these cryptocurrencies.
Florida and city of Miami are really leading the way of normal life not just in America but in all world, supporting Bitcoin and freedom with less stupid restrictions and regulations.
Other states and cities around the world should follow their example because we don't need more stupid politicians who are blindly following orders from their masters.
If El Salvador can have Bitcoin as legal tender so can other countries, as I don't see any other way to fight inflation than owning some Bitcoin with Gold and Silver, and lot of people may soon end up with worthless papers in their hands if they don't think on time.
