Disappointing match for Argentina. Draw against a team like Chile (#19 in FIFA ranking) would have been unthinkable during the times of Gabriel Batistuta and Ariel Ortega. Now they don't even figure among the top 5 as per the FIFA ranking. In general, the Latin American teams have gone down over the years, and the European teams have progressed at their expense. Anyway, things are not getting any easier for Argentina. Their next match is against a strong Uruguay side (this Saturday).

I personally still believe Brazil will win again but even so, I personally don't believe in a team that has as many star players as Argentina. Even so far in the Messi era, the fact is that Argentina still fails and it's even difficult to win every game. I guess some people are not yet ready to accept the fact that Argentina is not one of the top teams in world football right now. And Chile has been a strong side for many decades now. Any team that qualifies to world cup from the toughest confederation (CONMEBOL) is assured to be a strong side. Forget about Chile, even teams such as Bolivia and Venezuela are capable of big upsets. The lower tier teams of CONMEBOL can't be compared with the lower tier teams in AFC or CONCACAF. The quality is much higher.

I think that the Argentina vs Chile match is complicated so I think that a draw is a very possible result, it is not bad to cover the bet in case Argentina does not do its job as it should.

Seeing Argentina - Chile match today in bookmakers, you have the feeling that Argentinians will win easily. In their last 3 games, Argentina won once and 2 games ended with a draw. I don't feel Argentina will win easily.

Yeah I believe Brazil is better too. Messi wasn't lucky with Argentina at all when he was younger and more powerful, yet he still wants to get something before international retirement and this version of Copa America then World Cup shouldn't be missed for his team.

I totally agree with you, I really think almost all south american teams from the CONMEBOL confederation are able to upset the best teams in the world on a single leg match.
Moreover at the last Copa America, Peru has finished at the second place and Chile at the fourth one.

That's why I place almost all my bets on underdogs during this Copa America, on top of that there is a promotion on Stake (paid out as winning bet if your selection scores in the first 15 minutes) so I pray for an early goal to back up my bet even if the match ends in a losing 3-1 lol

There are many star players in the Argentine squad. Aguero was one of the best players in the Premier League. Messi is one of the best players in the world. Despite having so many stars, Argentina is not able to perform as expected. Because there is a lack of coordination among the players on the team. Moreover, Argentina's defense is very weak. Argentina has a strong forward lineup. But the defense and midfield are much weaker than that. The team is not stable, Argentina lost in the last World Cup only because of weak defense. Nevertheless, I did not see any steps to strengthen their defense.

If that's the case, I think the federations and competition organizers should take immediate action. Because, from the 52 cases of covid-19 found are enough to make the reason for the delay. Love Messi I keep saying that but yeah, I really can't see them winning like this when Brazil is on fire, throwing everyone in their path to their side. Argentina need to stop relying on setpieces and Messi like Barca needed to 5 years ago.

The closest they were to the world cup final win was against Germany. But even then it wasn't enough. In the end it felt like both teams want to rely on the penalty shootout but Argentina got surprised by Germany's lucky moments. Afterwards I thought Messi will never come as close again.

One of the most interesting matches in the group stage. Given the past when Chile beat Argentina in the 2016 final, this match will have some subtext. I often root for the underdogs and this match will root for Chile, plus I don’t like the Argentina national team (no hate  ).

Why do you not like Argentina? Though, I am not from such continent and I am not even supporting any country to win, but I like Lionel Messi which will make me support Argentina. Chile also have strong players while Argentina may perform in the way we do not expect, but I will go for Argentina if necessarily need be to go for one.

I like many teams from this continent. And by the way, at the time of Batistuta, I was rooting for this team, but with the advent of the era of Messi, everything became very dirty. I don't like intra-team intrigues and opposition of the player's odongo to others (Messi). In recent years, it seems that these problems are gone, but I still find it hard to think about it. Latin America is one of the two global regions worst affected by the pandemic (the other one is Europe, but the elderly population was the reason there). Even within Latin America, Brazil is the worst (as it has witnessed close to 500,000 deaths from the virus). I don't understand the point in conducting the tournament in Brazil, when they are still reporting around 2,000 deaths per day from the pandemic. Argentina refused to host the tournament for exactly the same reason - rising number of COVID cases.
