Hey guys, I would like to know why some Nvidia GPU miners on ETH use Phoenix miner instead of T-Rex miner?
T-Rex miner software gives you higher hash rate for NVIDIA graphics cards. Is it because of the dev fee? T-Rex dev fee: 1% VS PhoenixMiner 0.65%
For the higher amount of hash rate you get from T-Rex, I'm pretty sure it covers the dev fee difference. I haven't made the calculation (who really can?, too many factors in play that we don't control).
Bottom line, isn't a no-brainer, mining ETH with Nvidia cards is more profitable on T-Rex compared to PhoenixMiner?
I have been mining ETH with T-Rex miner for the last 6 weeks and it's super steady in fact I had to change from Phoenix miner because I was having stability issues, this is when I realized wow the hash rate is higher on T-Rex miner for Nvidia GPUS.

I was using phoenix miner with no problems, I bought a 3060 ti though and it was completely unstable on Phoenix. Switching over to T-Rex solved it.

I use it because I have a mixed rig together with AMD and NVIDIA-s as my main mining machine. At home I use T-rex for mining Raven for fun with a 1050 ti.I would of course switch to T-Rex if he makes a multi vendor GPU miner as I see it is really good.

I have the same doubt with AMD cards, why do they use phoenix instead of teamredminer. As for most common replies, - Built in clock control
- AMD and Nvidia support
- Higher Hashrate, this is the crazy part, phoenix displays a higher hashrate than trm and trex, but way slower pool side, but i guess to the causal miner it doesnt matter !!

Exactly! I don't understand why Phoenix miner is the most popular miner software for GPU ETH. One of the developper of Phoenix miner I saw his ETH address, he was making 30,000 $ per day! It was one month ago so maybe today he is making 20,000$ per day, crazy.

With my NVidia cards 1660s and 3070, I have higher hash rate with T-Rex miner compared to Phoenix miner.

Pheonix Miner is junk with 2000/3000 series Nvidia cards.
IMHO T-rex is good, but use Gminer. Gminer has been extremely stable for me and only 0.65% DevFee on ETH.

https://2miners.com/blog/best-ethereum-mining-software-for-nvidia-and-amd/"The only open-source mining software Ethminer came third. It doesn’t charge a developer’s fee, so hashrates in the program and in the pool are almost identical with a 0.01% difference. As you can see, if mining software is free, it doesn’t mean that you get more profit. If you choose Gminer or T-rex, you gain more."

I think that the people learned Phoenix and simply some of them keep using it.
Regarding the 2miner test its an old one from february and with a very weird test approach , as they use a "special pool" with very low difficulty 136x lower . That is slighty different from the real condition.
In real mining I choose to use LOLminer simply because its the only one that give you the chance using two different stratum so, I can mine eth + zil without interruption in 2 miners eth + shardpool zil .
That are , on my view and with the card that I use, the best paying pools.
The alternative is to use Trex and TRM and mining in Ezil, but I found that I make much more Zil (2x) with LOL in 2miners+shardpool.
I tried mining using the stratum passthrough with other miners rather than LOL, but sometimes the passthrough of the pool doesn't work well.
On my small sample 3 mixed rigs, the slower card benefit more than the 3070 in term of number of Zil shares hitted during the zil session. .

Teamred has the same function to mine direct to eth pool and second to zil -> but direct over zil proxy give more hashrate, because they switch fast than the miner with 2 stratum connections. This is the result of my tests. And most zil you get with rustpool, many can confirm this.

TRM doesn't work with the green card that I have in the same rig. And its 1 % so more than LoL But you are right for rustpool, may be its better than shardpool ( haven't tested yet), but both are much better then ezil

Let me know Xazax310 if you got better hash rate for ETH than that on Gminer: 1660 Super: 31.82 MH/s 3070: 62.37 MH/s

skablast with your 3070 how many MH/s on ETH you do with your dual mining set up?

I've tried Trex and phoenix miner and I can say that their performance on ETH algorithm isn't that differ, for some cards like gtx1660 super the outcome performance is the same so it's a matter of choice for anyone, the two mining software are good enough

Mostly, you have to test every new version of miner because some small changes can increase your hashrate. But as i tested - the difference between 1 and 2 place are so small. that it does not matter. But it was Gminer and T-rex. The Phoenix miner has lower hashrate, when i tested - it was 2-3%.

I know that TRM is only for AMD -> but that was not the message. Use T-Rex miner and only rustpool direct -> give more than lolminer with 2 connections -> because the switch needs to much time and hashrate is shortly decreased -> only mining direct over the rustpool proxy give more overall hashrate. Lol you see the screenshot on your link? How much fee you see in this picture? Right 0.65% for ethash!!!! Read carefully next time. Don´t use such outdated sites like cryptomining-blog and look at the developers page if you don´t know the right fee!!!!!

OMG 30 cents per Kw/h, where are you California? Here in Québec we are at 8.8 cents per Kw/h from 100% green energy source. I installed a massive commercial AC Mitsubishi in my garage, I keep the temperature always at 23 degrees celsius (73 fahrenheit for people in the US). At 30 cents per Kw/h the AC would become sooo expensive. My AC cost me in average 4 CAD/day.

For me on HiveOS for one 1660s, when I switched from Phoenix miner to T-Rex miner, if I remember well I gained something like +1 MH/s on ETH. It seems that many people mine on Windows. It's so not optimal...
