for me someone has a negative trust, if he has at least a -1 in his trust score. so you are in the raffle and take you on the list Wink

Hehe, thank you, OP! Highly appreciated!

that is subjective though as the neg trust showing or not will depend on if the person who left it is in your trust circle or not. if they are not, you will not see it.  [...] unless I misunderstand how it works.

If you created a custom trust list, the score you see at someone is influenced by your inclusions / exclusions. If you don't have a custom trust list, you see the score based on Default Trust list. However, as many users created custom trust lists, the score they see at others is not the real score -- it's the one based on their inclusions / exclusions. To see in "DT view" (which shows the real trust score, you have to add a ";dt" after the url of a user's profile. For example, based on my trust list, I see icopress as +7 / =0 / -0. However, accessing his profile with ;dt at the end, he shows as +6 / =0 / -1.

Now of course, in his case there was a huge abuse and I am happy OP understood and allowed him in. But I think the negative score should be taken into account by the ;dt, which shows the score given by Default Trust members, and not as the one showed by simply looking at a profile, as this score is not the correct one... I hope this helps Smiley

haha man I was just yanking your leg - it's all good --- the way I see it, you are giving stuff away - your right to include/exclude as you choose - just commenting because the trust system is heavily flawed and greatly exploited/misused.

yes and then even using the dt view - it can omit many negatives - the default trust view of my profile omits the negs left by one person.

yes and then even using the dt view - it can omit many negatives - the default trust view of my profile omits the negs left by one person.

Yes, I see and this is correct Smiley Let me explain again, maybe this time is better. So the Trust score can only be influenced by feedbacks given by Default Trust members. If a DT member gives you a positive feedback, you will appear as +1 / =0 / -0. If you get a neutral feedback from a DT member, you will appear as having a score of +0 / =1 / -0. The same happens for negative feedbacks too. And this is the correct score you have. Now if anyone has a Custom Trust list, this score is shown differently, based on which users are included or excluded in that person's Trust list. But your real score is the one shown if you access your profile url with a ";dt" at the end.

The positive, neutral and negative feedbacks given by non-DT users do not affect your score. Your score may show them, however, to some users, but only if those users seeing your profile included or excluded those non-DT members which gave you a feedback.

In your case, you received 4 negative feedbacks from a troll - game-protect - which is not a DT user and, as a consequence, those feedbacks are not reflected on your Trust score. But the negative feedback given by Vod is shown, because Vod is a DT member. So this is why your score is shown as +26 / =0 / -1 and not as +26 / =0 / -5 - game-protect's feedbacks are not counted.

However, if there is user on the forum which has game-protect in his Trust list inclusions, then this person would see your Trust score as +26 / =0 / -5 -- so game-protect's feedbacks will be counted as negatives for the person having game-protect in his Trust list. But that score would be false, because game-protect is not a DT member. So to make sure this person sees your correct Trust score (meaning the one which included game-protect on his Trust list), then he should access your profile adding a ";dt" at the end.

This was a simple explanation, but also not complete. I just tried to make it as simple as possible. However, the score can be falsely shown also not just for those included / excluded, but also for the ones included or excluded by the ones you included or excluded. This is the "Trust depth". You can set it at your Trust Settings from your profile and the depth can go up to 4 levels. It's up to you what depth you choose. However, for example, if you set a depth 4, this would mean the trust scores you see at others are influenced by:

1) the ones you included / excluded in your Trust list
2) the ones included / excluded by the ones from 1)
3) the ones included / excluded by the ones from 2)
4) the ones included / excluded by the ones from 3)

This is why it's best to always look at a profile with a ";dt" added to the url, in order to see to real Trust score - the one set by the feedbacks received from DT users, and not by other non-DT users. Of course, it's good to read all feedbacks someone received, to have a more clear image, but if you want to see that user's real Trust score, you can only see it by using the ";dt" argument.

....

Yes I already know this and exactly how it works - it is still broken. and it is pointless to have a personalized one because as soon as someone in DT1 or DT2 see something they don't like, you get put on trial and crucified. Been there, done that.

The trust system is broken and highly inaccurate even when using the default trust view as there are trolls on DT1 as well - vod being an excellent example.

then the rule must actually be called correctly:

'your account must not have a negative trust from dt members (unless the user has already traded with me)'

right?

then the rule must actually be called correctly:

'your account must not have a negative trust from dt members (unless the user has already traded with me)' right?
Every time I read these kind of rules, I'm sure that by negative trust, the author only means valid/confirmed red tags, and I have no doubt that the guys I quoted have the same opinion. Therefore, if you want your words to sound not ambiguous, you should adhere to the following wording: Your account should not have a confirmed / justified negative trust.

If you have negative feedback from another trusted member for a legitimate reason you will not be accepted. If you receive negative feedback during your participation from another trusted member you will be removed without receiving payment.
Receiving a valid contract violation flag, a valid "high risk" flag or having more negative trust feedback from DT1 and DT2 than positive trust feedback may cause you to be removed, with or without payment.
If you receive neg trust while enrolled you receive no pay and will be removed
Negative trust accounts are not eligible to join.
Users with negative trust are not eligible for the bounty campaign.
Of course, there are exceptions to the rules ... cases when no footnotes are assigned to the red tags and you cannot get acquainted with the details, then you should pay attention either to the author of the tag or to the reasons why you see the red tag. After all, adding a particular person to your list of trust means trusting the opinion of this person and the opinion of those people whom he trusts directly, (depending on the depth of trust). And when I talked about the "author of the tag" I also meant those persons whose tags are trusted by the majority only for the reason that these people have been verified over the years, whose tags are invaluable for the forum as a whole, even if they are without footnotes.

To summarize, we can say that it all boils down to preventing the forum from becoming a place where people's reputation is judged on the basis of nothing more than gossip or speculation. Therefore, my advice to you ... if you do not know the details, or you do not directly trust the opinion of the person who left the red tag, then you should not take such tags into account, (since you do not know for sure whether such a tag was justified).
