It is a pity that it happened. McAfee occasionally amused us with his sometimes silly jokes. He reminded me of a clown in cryptocurrency. Committing suicide has always been regarded as one of the worst possible solutions to a problem. I can't remember John McAfee doing anything good for the cryptocurrency sector. He tarnished the image through his countless scams and was partially responsible for the 2018 altcoin rout. And I don't understand this argument that McAfee is responsible for celebrities getting involved in cryptocurrency. IMO, there is no evidence available to say so. The fact that he committed suicide doesn't erase the fact that he ruined the lives of hundreds of people and might have probably forced at least some of them to take their own lives. Also, his death doesn't mean that the case is closed. The money should be recovered from his bank accounts and distributed among the victims of his scam. On the antivirus sector, I agree. I am really sorry to hear about the death of a colorful man whom I also considered very successful in many ways. As a meritorious entrepreneur, he paved many roads for others to easily enter. He was a pioneer for crypto currencies way before elon musk and for that everyone in the crypto-space should be thankful.
