bloomberg made it sound like it's very timely but the announcement of his extradition was actually more than a week ago before he took his life. he knew its coming.
how bad is American prison can be that he wanted to be in a Spanish cell that he'd rather kill himself you ask?  i think its about his $23M tax which i guess he blamed himself. hope he gave his coins to his son.

I think living all time on US jail is worse than dying I guess. Mcafee finish his agony already and make it quick by doing it by his own hands. Apparently this news is kinda buzz off to the crypto community as he was famous for lots of partnership and advisory he made during the time he still into crypto. It is a pity that it happened. McAfee occasionally amused us with his sometimes silly jokes. He reminded me of a clown in cryptocurrency. Committing suicide has always been regarded as one of the worst possible solutions to a problem. This is just an escape from the problem, and especially negative attitude has always been on the part of the church.
McAfee hid from the US authorities for a long time, I think that by a series of his stupid actions he himself exacerbated the situation to such an extreme degree. Well, each of us has the right to choose and we are all responsible for our actions.

I can't remember John McAfee doing anything good for the cryptocurrency sector. He tarnished the image through his countless scams and was partially responsible for the 2018 altcoin rout. And I don't understand this argument that McAfee is responsible for celebrities getting involved in cryptocurrency. IMO, there is no evidence available to say so. I regard him as someone who did immense and unrepairable harm to mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency. I don't know why some people still hold him with such high regard.

RIP to John, it's a sudden news we cannot deny that even he became a hype to so many shitcoin, he open the door of cryptocurrency to many well known personality even celebrity and part of that is John's legacy. I think he is in a deep situation and I don't believe it was suicide.

What a pity, and thank you for your input and strong comment - John mcAfee's.  He has been incredibly vocal in support of bitcoin and crypto throughout his life.  Still alone in jail for 75 years old, I remember mcAfee once had a bitcoin prediction of $500k, if that happens this year.  At least that was the only time his bitcoin prediction was correct.
If he really is dead.  I will bow my head to pray for him!  Not greatness but he is still worthy of respect.

he once actually said he will not do what his father did in the past. His father commits suicide too. so given that he already said he won't be committing the same mistake, there's this theory again that it's almost like Epstein case too. i have no idea if there are big people involved in the scams he did in the past like politicians or so. if he will reveal those names because he will be extradited, i think those big names have reason to have him killed.

This is just a mere speculations right? I think the news itself can be a factor of him doing such suicide. Being extradite is something shame and I know somehow Mcafee have some pride and dont want this. If ever your assumption is true, then probably he is being blackmailed but is there are reason for mcafee to be scared? Like somehow they will threat his family will be killed or something like that.

His outrageous remark of $1 Million per BTC by Dec. 2020 or he'll eat his d*ck definitely turned heads. Obviously, that didn't happen but it gained more attention for bitcoin during that time. RIP

Oh wow this is sad,,, the newsweek report does say that the extradition was approved earlier in the same day though. I do not understand why he was not put under suicide watch knowing this decision was something he would not have liked at all.

I never liked the guy but this is still sad news,,, anyone who has to do this fearing his own country of citizenship does not deserve this.

This is still sad, I am not actually familiar with the case given to him if he should be going to jail for so many years or anything, but being in jail and you are a popular person is such a bad feeling, maybe he decided to kill himself than to stay longer in the jail, It so sad because even though John McAfee doing so many shit things in the cryptocurrency there are still some good things that he have shared to all of us.

He did a lot of damage to cryptocurrency by promoting various scams. The fact that he committed suicide doesn't erase the fact that he ruined the lives of hundreds of people and might have probably forced at least some of them to take their own lives. Also, his death doesn't mean that the case is closed. The money should be recovered from his bank accounts and distributed among the victims of his scam. On the antivirus sector, I agree. He made a lot of contributions to that sector, by keeping our computers safe from malware and trojans.

McAfee had an amazing life of visionary, libertarian and crypto evangelist. He earned $6 billion, became an enemy of more or less all states in the world simply for saying uncomfortable things and lived his life to the fullest. I wonder if it was one of his pranks when he said not to believe the suicide version and then committed it. Or was he right?..

Whatever he was he was a clever fame hungry man. He tweeted that he would not kill himself, then killed himself. Knowing that the conspiracy theories will go on and on and hence his name will go on too. He was scared of going to the us and spending his remaining days in prison.
