I am about to start for the first time dual mining ETH/ZIL.
Until now, I receive the ETH I mine in my Newton account which I exchange in Canadian dollars then transfer it into my Canadian bank account. On Newton they don't offer ZIL address (neither on AirGapWallet) so I just created an Exodus wallet.
My concern is when I will receive my ETH mining payment from Ezil mining pool, I will have to pay the Ethereum gas to move my ETH from Exodus to Newton and maybe it will offset the additional profit I can make with dual mining ETH/ZIL?
Nevertheless, I like the idea of doing some hodling with ZIL, so I will try it.
Is there Canadians who do dual mining ETH/ZIL and convert their ETH rewards in CAD right away? If yes, how do you guys proceed to minimize the fees?
Thanks

I'm not sure I am following you. So right now you mine on a different pool other than Ezil and your eth wallet is in a Newton account, right? If that isn't correct, disregard the rest of this post If you are just starting to dual mine with Ezil, why not continue to send your eth payments to your newton account and just send the ZIL to your exodus account?

For dual mining the best one is lolMiner with the dual stratum... so you don't loose time on swap and you get less stales for been connected to both pools follow the manual: https://web.archive.org/web/20210520195911/https://hiveos.farm/how_to_dual_mine_ZIL_ETH_ERGO_RVN_in_HiveOS/

I was wondering if it will work if I do that in HiveOS, to add my Newton ETH address and my Exodus ZIL address in the wallet. I tried to do Dual mining like explained in OP but I had tons of invalid shares from my RTX 3070 so I stopped and get back to mining only ETH on HiveON pool with GMiner.

Also the miner software had to load the DAG every time it switches from ETH to ZIL so it's good portion of times lost every day. Second thought, I think I will stick to mine ETH which is the most profitable coin.

No you can use any participating pool. Go to Ezil or rustpool.xyz; ezil runs its own while rustpool is partnered with 2miners, sparkpool, flexpool, nano, ethermine, mph, and hiveon; meaning you can still mine eth with sparkpool and once every hour or so, your miner will switch over to mine zilliqa. It does not mess with your hashpower, just once every hour for about a minute, you'll be mining zilliqa and then once that minute is up, you'll switch back to eth. If you want to mine zil and stay with Sparkpool, I recommend going to rustpool.xyz for the configuration.

The benefits of using lolminer is that you are connected at the same time on both pools, so you don't go through a proxy, like you will have with PhoenixMiner, T-Rex or Gminer for example. Going through a proxy will increase stales and that will reduce your income. Working with lolminer you have 2 connections at the same time. One to the eth pool and another to the zil pool. Benefits no proxy and less stales

It is not an lolminer exclusive feature, Teamredminer can do this also but it is only for AMD. But mining direct over the rustpool proxy give more hashrate, if you use the dual stratum -> you loose time. I tested it with teamredminer -> the switch between the 2 stratums takes to long -> if you mine direct over rustpool -> more shares -> more average hashrate (reported 170mh - dual stratum poolhashrate 155mh - over proxy poolhashrate 162mh), i get the same amount on stale shares for both methods. Maybe someone can do a test long term (1 or 2 weeks maybe)

Just to add to it, SRBMiner can work both ways too (hold both DAG's in gpu vram, or load the appropriate one when needed - on gpu's that dont have enough vram to hold both DAG's at the same time). Also you can dual mine ZIL with any other algorithm that is supported by the miner, not only ETH. - Now that's exclusive

No when your GPU have enough Vram it can hold the 2 DAG. But like doctor83 said -> SRBminer, teamredminer, lolminer, nanominer, trex, nbminer, gminer all can hold both DAG, so no DAG recreation after switch. Mining direct over the zil proxy servers is more efficient -> dual stratum is not needed in my opinion

Mining direct over the zil proxy servers is more efficient -> dual stratum is not needed in my opinion Got it thanks! I think for a miner with the HODL strategy it can be interesting financially to mine ETH and ZIL but for me every time I receive my mining payments I convert everything in CAD then I send 20% in my trading account to buy more ETF QYLD (for the monthly dividends and for diversification) and 80% goes to pay my credit card. So in other words, I do not HODL (except for the ETH I keep to soon run a validator node on ETH 2.0 with Rocket Pool) so dual mining for me is not interesting. Looking at whattomine.com, ETH is still and always the most profitable coin to mine with GPUs. Let me know if I'm wrong but the only good reason to mine ZIL is for the probable price increase in the future which can take 1 month, 1 year or could never happen. It seems to me that it's a pretty speculative bet. ZIL is interesting with their sharding consensus mechanism to have a high throughput and their smart contracts but I think there's a lot of other good prospects too. The only real advantage that I see in ZIL is when Ethereum will merge then we won't be able to use GPUs to mine ETH anymore but the scalability issue will be fix (and ETH will also implement sharding) so ZIL will lose its advantage so the only thing that will remain is that ZIL is proof-of-work and can be mined with GPUs.

It is not dual mining that used to be long time ago. It stops eth mining completely then mines ZIL. Then what is point i can mine ETH then convert to ZIL and i will not loose anytime for dag switches. Am i wrong?

No DAG switch. Run the dual on EZIL and watch your miner when it switches back and forth to Zil. It's only 1 minute every 60 minutes or so.

Someone on this thread said that some mining pool or mining software allow you to keep the DAG in the VRAM of your GPUs but again what's the point to mine ZIL if it's more profitable to mine ETH except if you think ZIL will boom + 1,500% or something like that in the future.

Ae you sure with EZIL there's no DAG loading every times the switch happens because I found a Reddit post with someone saying that (it's not great the DAG has to be loaded every time) and a staff from EZIL pool answered back to that something like : We just added Miner Extractable Value.

I can run Ezil Eth + Zil and show you screen shot. I've also ran rustpool where you actually connect to their stratum and they point your miners to say ethermine when not mining zil and point miners to Zil when mining it. I made a post asking someone to help with stratum "stuff" because I have algo that switches pools but the way I have to do it, it basically restarts the miner and therefore has to redo the DAG; whereas if I had my main PC/server act as local stratum where all miners point to and I switch the main PC to different pools, I wouldn't have to redo the dag. IF, Ezil is not doing stratum forwarding where it does not impact/cause a redo in the dag, then they are losing money. Think about nicehash, you point your miners to their stratum and when someone rents, it forwards your miners to whatever pool they are mining on. Imagine if dag had to be redone each time your miners were rented/switched pools. Also, last thing, imagine devfee. Sounds like you might use GMiner. Imagine if dag had to be redone each time devfee period kicked in. You could be mining ETHO or DBIQ or something else the dev does not mine, so when their devfee time kicks in, they point your miners to an eth pool. If you watch your miners, you will never notice dag being redone.

BTC mining with Ezil We all know that you can’t mine Bitcoin with GPU. Technically yes, but the Ezil team solved this — you can mine ETH, we automatically convert it to BTC and you receive mining payouts through the Bitcoin network. https://blog.ezil.me/btc-mining-with-ezil-e7f87546ca36
