It's the cheap transaction fees that made it hype just like how XRP did it. The only problem is there is no real project behind it which will mean a lot if suddenly they don't just want to continue the meme.
Your coins are stuck and there is getting it back. It's a waste of money and so does effort. So, it's possible to be used but not to be kept because of that risk. Like a time bomb where you just drop it and leave it there never looking back.

dogecoin is not as bad as it sounds. doge grew up with a strong community. but the hype that followed after Elon did everything was just too strong. the community supports it. But because Elon often plays with the Dogecoin market with his followers who are always fooled by Elon's strategies, making Dogecoin like an annoying meme coin.

As of now, dogecoin is one kind of pump-dump things because of the blind puppets of Elon Musk. Though it was used for micro-payments by all previously, but now wrapped dogecoin is becoming popular on defi space just like @Bttzed03 said. It's ridiculous to see that dogecoin is now trending on coingecko just because of elon's tweet. Those blind followers won't get out of fomo anymore and pump it eventually. Afterwards, dumping of dogecoin will be done when bitcoin will take correction. So everyone of those who are still on fomo , should not jump for dogecoin without proper TA, IMHO.

There are many cheap fast alternative tokens that have a strong project background and have a solid potential like BNB, EOS, XRP. It would better to just settle on those than relying so much on DOGE. DOGE soars up on value just because of Elon Musk and his followers, What if Elon Musk abandons that DOGE? Price would crash for sure and people who are relying on it too much would be crazy because of that kind of idealism.

Dogecoin can also be used to gamble in some websitess. With its low fees and cheap price, your bankroll will last longer rsther than using bitcion to gamble. Other than that, I don't see more purpose of dogecoin in the crypto space. It is just a memcoin for me, and the developer of that coin also admitted that is was only created for that purpose. Elon Musk just made it popular for some unknown reason. I'm sure he knows that dogecoin has unlimited anount of supply and the top 10 holders of that coin owns a very large amount of supply which can drive the price down a lot.

if there are alternative coins with better feature and usecase than doge , no doubt anymore we should choose them. If elon stop shilling and even never call it again , less traders will care to dogecoin again. they will thinking no more trigger to take short opportunity to gain profits. Before the hype of doge came in, I used this old alt for transfer purposes from one exchange to another as it is cheaper than moving your coins using bitcoin. However, because of this hype, the withdrawal fees in doge is getting expensive already as compared to other alts like XRP/TRX/LTC. The main use cases before were in gambling and transfer purposes. Right now, it somehow changes because the fees are getting expensive under this network. And now, it is like a speculative coin especially if Elon tweets about it.

True, doge is a good alternative when it comes to cheap transaction specially those who often gamble and using doge as their option to deposit/withdrawal. But because of the demand for doge due to hype it breaks the only advantage to use this coin. Influencers has really an impact thats why it became popular than before as a number one meme coin.

Maybe you are right but look at the price of Dogecoin, that is very surprising isn't it. If that only a meme coin, nonsense, it is supposedly it has died already but we can't imagine that it still going to survive, unlike the others.
So I realize that even it was of no value to the others but might not know that it serves to have a purpose to the others. Many investors and traders still using this one, they valued Doge more than what the majority had to think about this. In fact, we have done already with the hypes but still, it has a healthy price, this will mean that there something about Doge and we just underestimate this coin.
