As a way to celebrate becoming a Legendary Member, I have decided to giveaway 0.0012BTC to two forum members.

The person who guesses the last two digits of the block number of the first block found after July 11, 2021, 5:00 PM UTC will win 0.001BTC. The runner-up will be the person who guesses the last two digits of the block number of the block subsequent to the above block, and will win 0.0002BTC.

Rules:
-You must have received at least 5 merit in the past 120 days from at least 2 distinct forum members
-You must have registered your account prior to July 3, 2021
-Entries are on a first-come, first-serve basis -- if you guess a number that has been guessed by someone else, you can choose a different number
-One slot per person
-You cannot use multiple alt accounts to make multiple entries
-You cannot edit your entry post
-I will compile a list of entries in the below post that will serve as the authoritative list of entries -- in the event of a discrepancy between the below list and actual forum posts, the below list will override actual forum posts

It looks as though all spots are not going to be filled as of July 11, 5:00 PM UTC. This is not something I had considered happening.

I am going to stop accepting entries as of July 11, 4:35 PM UTC. If your post is made after this time, it will not be accepted.

My reading of the rules is that if no one correctly guesses the first block found after July 11, 5:00 PM UTC, no one would win the grand prize (ditto for the runner up prize). This is obviously not what I want. As a result, once I stop accepting entries, the first block found after 5 PM UTC on July 11, that someone guessed will be the grand prize winner, and the first person to guess a block after the block awarded to the grand prize winner will get the second place prize.

The above means that you will either get a higher prize than you otherwise would, or you get the same prize you otherwise would.

Yes, that is another way of saying what I am planning.

I will pick the 1st block after the cutoff time, and if there is no winner, I will pick the next block, and will continue picking the next block until there is a winner.

My goal is to both ensure there is actually a winner and a second-place winner and to do so in a way that is fair and that there are no accusations of any kind of shady back-room dealings, or anything of the sort.

For guessing block numbers, it's very easy to game just before a block is produced. Each block is 10 minutes - not much of a difference if people know and look up accordingly.

Many participants didn't have an equal chance.

I was also thinking of hosting a giveaway something along the lines of allowing people to enter once per day, and allowing each space to be taken multiple times. The payout for the winner(s) would depend on how many shares they have in the winning number and how many shares were issued for the winning number. At first, each guess would allow the person to have many shares when choosing a number would be little more than a gamble, but over time, each entry would result in the participant fewer shares as guessing the number (or a range) becomes easier with certain assumptions.

As I noted above, you can guess within a range the correct block number, however there isn’t a guarantee that the door will be available if only one person can guess each number.
