Most people in the world do not get the chance of doing anything remarkable in their lives. Many may do things that are significant for them, but usually, chances of doing something that will change humanity, its culture and its way of thinking are remote. People involved in the French Revolution, artists in the Renaissance, philosophers in ancient Athens, ... they did things that left the world changed.

Most of us have some bitcoin. A few have a lot of bitcoin. Just think that for any reason, in 5 years or 10 years, something happened that dropped bitcoin value or made the network unusable or whatever event or combination of events made it impossible to use it any longer. As far as I am concerned, I can say "I was there and, at least, it was something great and I was part of it". When bitcoin fades, the way people think about currency, self-governance,  trust in a system will have changed forever. And you will have been part of it and be able to say "I did something great and it changed the world".

I am accustomed to thinking about and investing in some projects rationally. When I first met Bitcoin and knew how it works, I knew that we would definitely have a story, because my investment idea is to invest in the future of Bitcoin. Of course I don't invest all my belongings in Bitcoin, but I don't want to wait for Bitcoin to be successful, but I am an outsider.

I do not have to say that because I have more important things to do, making my family secure and living happy. I do not think that making me feel something will make me feel something, but taking part inside the bitcoin world gives me a chance to do something for my life. If we can feel that, there are no words that can impress and we can only say that to ourselves, not to other people, because they can agree or disagree with what we say.
I think there is still an impressive sense of its own, however taking part in the world of bitcoin is like a new thing to do, not like working normally in the real world, of course this can be a story in itself or one of the interesting new avenues that can push our knowledge up to date. Share with family and other people too, so they know that bitcoin is one of the great things that can grow rapidly and provide many opportunities to boost finances till can make families happy.

I was one of the early adopters of Bitcoin, signed up on the forum in 2014, and owned some BTC which was acquired by faucets. A few years later, I started mining and made a decent profit. Unfortunately, most of the BTC I had acquired back then doesn't exist or was sold, but I'm happy that I faced Bitcoin during its early days.

In fact, if the Bitcoin network is no longer useful, you will not be able to say "I changed the world".
Of course, I'm glad that I have been in this community for several years and that I am a witness of how the world's financial system is changing thanks to cryptocurrencies.
I am aware of the threats to Bitcoin (such as quantum computers, for example), but I strongly believe that this "experiment" will succeed and that banksters will have to go on the defensive.

I already share with family and other people but not many of them have a bitcoin interest. But maybe when people can have money from bitcoin, they will impress and see that it is real because many people who do not join in bitcoin still think that bitcoin is not real.

But for all people involved in bitcoin from a long time ago, they are very impressed with bitcoin and still want to have more bitcoin and that is why they still work hard to achieve that thing.

Yeah, I will feel myself really proud when that day comes. Bitcoin has changed many people's lives and it continues to do so. It helped new jobs emerge and people have started those jobs thanks to Bitcoin. We have Bitcoin as a payment option in some places and the number of those places continues to increase. I'll remember Bitcoin mostly good when it starts dying. I say "mostly" because it actually depends on Bitcoin to solve scalability problems.  Grin

When bitcoin fades, the way people think about currency, self-governance,  trust in a system will have changed forever. And you will have been part of it and be able to say "I did something great and it changed the world".
Indeed I strongly agree with you for what so ever the fate might be it would be something to reckon on to have been a part of an innovation that had the ability to create a new approach to the financial system even if it fails due to unforeseen challenges I think ever investor should be proud the began the process and saw it till it current state. But I see future adoption of Bitcoin in near future which would still be a plus to us all

If this will happen then at least I'm one of the few million people here in the world who got the experience to trade, hold, buy, sell, transfer one of the most revolutionary currencies that has ever created in our planet Smiley.

Just involving myself into crypto makes me happy. Earning from it makes me lucky and changing my life with the help of crypto makes me one of the luckiest person in the world (unfortunately I'm not in that position at this moment).

I started into crypto 2017. Kinda late if you will ask me but at that time, I just graduated from the tertiary level and I just want to earn money online while watching our business. I can say that I'm lucky that I learned crypto even though its kinda late. I will be happy to share my experience to the other generations and other people after 10 years or 20 years Smiley.

What is interesting: practically all the great inventions of mankind in the past and even partially in the future are known to us from a wide variety of sources, including the works of science fiction writers, which surprisingly come true with amazing accuracy. However, we do not find any information about digital money that would be a significant event in the global financial system. We find traces of the use of nuclear weapons many millennia ago, space battles of earthlings in near-earth space about 12 thousand years ago, but we do not find anything either in the past or in the future about a special form of digital money.
Both science fiction writers and today's astrologers predict the destruction of states and that the world will be ruled by large corporations. For cryptocurrency, this is both a huge chance for development and complete oblivion if such corporations sharply oppose it.

that is why we should be not afraid to invest and to loose because if all fails at least we can say that we help and we are a part of a movement that change the financial system .
we wil have a story to tell to our kids if in the future if there will be no more bitcoins .

There there.

I don't know what is triggering your existential crisis but I find it very defeatist to think that you can just sigh away on a future thinking" I was there". The premise that Bitcoin will fade in coming years is something that those at this forum shouldn't accept in any scenario. Not an existential crisis at all, just the knowledge that existence is finite and that it is nice to know that somehow mine contributed to the future of humanity even if was an atom size contribution. I am aware that most people do not think in those terms and that many will focus their answers in the hypothesis (not the premise at all) that bitcoin could cease or become irrelevant - which is not at all the topic - but I am not writing for them.

I am not being gloomy, it is exactly the opposite, I am happy that ... I am here doing this, and I am happy whether I personally get richer or everything fades. Some answers to the post lead me to think that some people do get the point, others don´t.

but now those who have never paid attention to bitcoin, can see that bitcoin can't even be stopped by the government. until in the end bitcoin is equivalent to stock investments that have more unique characteristics. even during the covid pandemic, bitcoin became the prima donna in making money with fantastic developments

As long as you know in yourself that you didn't waste the opportunity of knowing and learning about bitcoin and other crypto, there's nothing you should regret about. Not unless you gave up midway and ended up witnessing how crypto became successful after a long while of dumping. In life, you do not get too many chances or opportunity of having something that helps you big time so once you had the chance to cherish and nurture from it, grab it and don't let it slip away your hand. Regrets are always at the end so pay attention with your decision making in the present.

Being part of this technological era is such a blessing; most of the information is at the tip of our hands.
Bitcoin is one of the most innovative when it comes to financing cause it gives us freedom.
If ever the time comes where Bitcoin no longer exists, the influence will stay forever.

You are right to compare the cryptocurrency world with revolution, because that's what this is, only not violent, but peaceful, yet not meaningless. Come to think of it, what happened is remarkable.

Everything started just some 12 years ago and it all began as a joke, as something interesting and original, and now Bitcoin had gained such a great impact that it is constantly discussed on the governmental level, many are afraid and see it as a treat, everyone takes this matter seriously now.

It is a new history indeed, and all of us contributed to that. No matter how much you buy Bitcoin and how often do you use it, just being a part of this world already makes a big difference.

Bitcoin was never started as or intended to be a joke. It was a response to massive government bailouts of banks and quantitative easing that "Satoshi" (whoever he/they are) thought would devalue fiat currencies, as evidenced by the headline he coded into the genesis block. It was always very much intended to be a revolution.

Everything could actually fade no matter how hard you do to make remarkable things. As for me, we don't have to stress ourselves out just to do things that will remain memorable. As long as we're living our lives right, we don't have to create perfect history. We should just grab the opportunities that crypto could offer rather than thinking of negative thoughts that could happen in the future.

I do feel like not only that we can also say that, "we were the part of the revolution that made the corruption disappear". I do believe that bitcoins as a whole will be able to help a lot of people not just the ones involve. I do feel like that we have an opportunity to change the whole government system and how it works. People can be more involved in their decisions at the same time they would be able to decide what to do with their own currency and where to invest. I do believe that even if we take it as an experiment, it was a successful one therefore we can tell our ages to come about how a decentralized system changed the whole world.

I'll be honest, based on my surroundings I don't think Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies have been able to make that big an impact on the "payments system". Yes the level of adoption has increased, a lot of people know about bitcoin and invest in cryptocurrencies now and they have become a big market for hedgers, arbitrageurs, traders, and Investors but at the same time in the payment stream, except for EL Salvador there is nothing we can boast a lot about at this point of time. But yes the technology of blockchain is really something that has changed our lives forever.

There there.

I don't know what is triggering your existential crisis but I find it very defeatist to think that you can just sigh away on a future thinking" I was there". The premise that Bitcoin will fade in coming years is something that those at this forum shouldn't accept in any scenario. The biggest tech companies are already deciding how an average human's life plays out. The banks are already deciding that they'll track your expenses and incomes from life till birth with CBDCs. The only thing that gives you an option is this decentralized network of peers called Bitcoin.

If it ever comes to the stage that it is fading, I think the renaissance moment for everyone on this forum will be to take a stand for liberty and run a full node and a miner..Smiley I mean the price of Bitcoin doesn't have to be 100K for the network to continue and survive. The developments can always continue and we can always have Bitcoin.

So stop being so gloomy buddy, you may still have your moment in the sun.

Just on the CDBC thing, and a bit out of topic, why do we even relate CDBC with bitcoin? Apart from the technology, I don't think they will provide any level of decentralization to the users. Infact it will just make the governments more into what we are doing in our daily lives.
