I guess most of you have noticed the rise in the number of banks and Financial commissions and Governments in different countries announcing bans on crypto purchases using banks, crypto exchanges, and in some case Bitcoin mining crackdowns. From UK to Japan, Canada (Ontario) to China, but one thing for sure is all those attempts can't stop a force that has already gained momentum. It only signals that the Bitcoin movement is going down the right path of history.

They want to have control of how people spend and transact but with Bitcoin and other cryptos, they are powerless, that's why they are not happy.

In 1996, the regulatory bodies tried to ban Internet phone software, the rest is history  Grin

Whenever into those people who got disturbed specially on to those who had been sitting on the top of the power/financial/reputation chain then for sure they would be finding out that decentralized
characteristic of Bitcoin is never been appealing for most of them. Some might see this as an opportunity to hide assets but basing only on how to control out people or making centralized stuffs
will totally be opposed on Bitcoin existence.

They've been trying for years for sure when it comes to ban and regulation but what happens? Bitcoin doesn't really fail to surprise us, instead on going its value into the floor
it do go and breaking out new heights instead.

This is very the best example for cryptocurrency banning these days, damn!

Bitcoin is one of the greatest inventions of the century for me.
All the FUD of the Internet in early 1990s were almost the same on what Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency experiencing now, this is one of  the reasons to why we are in huge volatility, a rocky road but at the end of that road, it's worth it.

Whenever there is a technology that emerges which is either uncertain, scary or a threat to the motive of the government there will always be some kind of resistance and it is usually through banning the technology. Although these bans have never been that successful and if anything they usually bring more attention to the technology instead. Bitcoin is no different it getting banned gets on the screen in front of people since news websites will try and make the most of it and try to push their agenda on why it was banned. This is why I think we have not seen a global ban on Bitcoin. It would just increase the amount of curiosity and people would use it anyway. At least if they allow you to use it they can regulate it and make something out of it. If its banned they can not regulate it. I do think these bans are temporary and its not the first time Bitcoin has been banned and then the ban has been lifted. Unless they can establish a global ban which is effective at preventing people from using Bitcoin they will always be temporary.

But it's different though, there are countries, specially oppressive ones that are banning bitcoin and cyrpto for good. I doubt that they will suddenly made a U-turn and change their stance. On the contrary, countries that are in the middle, are most likely going to welcome and adopt bitcoin.

Bitcoin is so powerful that it will gave financial freedom to anyone and that is why certain countries are banning it and I doubt that those governments will enter the picture just because other countries are accepting it.

It's a safe assumption — especially when the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency space in general grows big enough to the point that it actually harms these countries to ban them.

Now, China on the other hand.. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't change stances.

I'm not sure how I would feel if there weren't any messaging / telephone software around, lol. Anyway, I realized that some people don't see the need for it or are too focused on what they desire most and forget how to help the entire civilization.

It will be a great comparison to how Bitcoin can be considered this catalyst in the financial industry.

They are indeed temporary, been hearing those bans as well when I came to crypto space.

Now, China on the other hand.. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't change stances.
I guess it will take a lot of time before it happens or if there will be changed of leadership from the country. Who knows that the next in line was a believer in crypto, finger crossed.

It is inevitable that all countries accept bitcoin, from the moment that bitcoin began to have a large community around the world, it began to get attention on news sites and TV channels around the world, it began to be accepted in several countries around the world this will put pressure on the few countries that don't accept bitcoin because people from those countries that don't accept bitcoin will pressure the government to accept bitcoin and the government will accept it because they won't have strong arguments to ban bitcoin because most countries accept bitcoin. if they wanted to destroy bitcoin they should have done it years ago, today is too late for any government to banning bitcoin

Probably, but I'm really not betting on it. China has just been very consistent with heavily limiting the freedom of their people that I'd be completely shocked if they did a 180. It's highly likely that someone higher than the president is pulling the strings, and changing of presidents is just changing of pawns.

It's the same when the car was also invited. They disallow cars because it disturbs the horses on the roads, they only started allowing people to ride cars but with an engineer and a flagger (which is now like traffic police these days) to ride along. I've read this somewhere actually.

It's pretty normal that another industry will be disturbed by the blockchain industry and the affected ones like the banks and more. But they'd soon find it a better technology soon.

Well, afraid of bitcoin because they see it as a threat to the banking industry. They could not stop people to use the bitcoin or any cryptocurrency system. It is worth to use as an alternative to banks as we all know the features of having a decentralized and anonymity. Users will tend to be more aware now the safety of their personal identity.

Bitcoin had already taken their attention and this is their step to pinned down bitcoin to ban the use of their service when it comes cyrptocurrency services.

However, bitcoin will going to survive and even surpass these banks

Still banks will going to work as well in my opinion well going to endure and continue their service just like telephone and internet. There is just a need to balance between to system and both will going to bring comfort to all its users with the balance both system offer.

I have always believed that we have chosen the right direction.

Many countries are now very resistant to Bitcoin mining, one of the reasons is that Bitcoin mining consumes a lot of energy.

I found an article the other day, it was an article in Forbes magazine in 1999.

Dig more coal -- the PCs are coming

Quote
The current fuel-economy rating: about 1 pound of coal to create, package, store and move 2 megabytes of data. The digital age, it turns out, is very energy-intensive. The Internet may someday save us bricks, mortar and catalog paper, but it is burning up an awful lot of fossil fuel in the process.

After so many years, let us look at history and find that what the Internet brings to us is 1,000 times more valuable than the waste of coal.

I would even think of primitive society. Human beings will not consume a little coal. I hope that those who blame energy consumption due to technological development will return to primitive society.(just kidding)

Bitcoin is a big disruptor and I am sure we are just beginning to see many forces who might want to curtail it or have it under their own control. In the next few years, we can expect a barrage of regulations meant to first put cryptocurrency under the reviews of those in power and then of course to tax everything as they also want to have a slice of the lucrative pie in place. Maybe we have to understand that this is just a natural reaction from those in power and when smoke clears we can see them happy to let cryptocurrency operate as long as they have the imaginary rope they can hold on.

Telephone industry isn't a government though, meaning that it will be different for bitcoin this time because the authority is the one that is going to enforce a ban and anyone who will go against will be prosecuted. Maybe I am wrong and it won't be so different because the power of the people might prevail and the unjust ban will be removed.

I agree with your point, but the countries that impose bans over cryptocurrency, usually aren't banning the cryptocurrencies(the blockchains). This means that it's not illegal to own cryptocurrencies.
They are banning cryptocurrency mining and (in some cases) crypto trading.
No blockchain has ever been banned in any country in the world.
It has been said many times that governments aren't hostile towards blockchain technology. They can be hostile towards crypto mining and crypto trading on unregulated platforms(that end up being scams).
Internet phone software was a technology, cryptocurrencies are an asset/medium or exchange.
We have to distinguish the technology from the financial asset.

hello sir, I think the Banks in the world are just taking their own advantage of how they are with crypto, and they just want to know what is being done in the crypto world, they even envy most people nowadays and want to destroy crypto, but the effort they failed so badly

This is completely normal to see some governments are trying to ban bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Whenever a new technology comes to the world, the old and traditional technology will try to resist the new technology as the OP already mentioned there was already the same problem when the internet started to work and many people, organizations, and governments were trying to ban or suspend it by time after time the problem solved and people are using it easily. We do have the same story for bitcoin and I'm not surprised to see the governments are trying to make it stop.
