that is very true, i consider myself as an addict of gambling, and to be honest i am still having problems with it, but i recall somedays when i was busy and i didn't have the time to gamble i didn't do it, and even after those busy days, when i got some free time, i didn't gamble even though the idea came across my mind but i didn't do it, it's i started to forget about it, but after some time i couldn't find things to do, and i had a lot of spare time, so gambled a little bit and i kept going, so i 100% agree with you, if you find other things to do you can forget about gambling.

In my opinion the gambling addiction signs is when the gambler lose the sum of money he has set for gambling and try to get it back with his saving money and in most cases end up losing them i think that gamblers need to have some kind of self control and see the gambling as some sort of fun activity or a hobby which will make it easier for them to adapt in case of a loss.

Ending your lives because of gambling, I think that's too stupid, that's being coward that one cannot accept losses. You already have a mental problem if you even think of ending your life because of a small problem. From the start, we should already know how capable we are to manage our emotion, if we are weak, then we should resist gambling at all cause.

This is definitely a red flag in our gambling behavior. If we lose control over our own budget limits it is time to for a break and to evaluate out behaviour more closely. If we are unable to control our own habits than we might be already addicted. Breaking our own limits can happen once our twice by mistake, but if it occurs regular we need to be alarmed. The second step would be if we can take a break and don't gamble for 2 weeks without feeling the need to gamble again.

But, you also have to train them to stay chill even though they are not doing anything at all to be entertained. Addicted gamblers should also practice themselves to do nothing or to remain calm beyond boredom, this way, we can assure ourselves that they are indeed making a huge progress to eliminate their gambling addiction.

This won't be easy because we're talking about addiction, it's their everyday ritual, and not doing it as a part of treatment will be so hard for them, that's why professionals handles it instead of normal people.

And there are those instances that the gambler has to sell whatever he has in his possession when he also loses his savings. It happens for real and happened many times which I've read for different people. You gamble with any amount that you have no problem to spend because if you've been gambling and you bet on high amounts which you think that you can recover afterwards, you're unsure if there's really a possible chance that you can recover it later when you have no capital left anymore on your pocket and it will push you to do other things that you don't like just for that recovery.

In fact is not really about walking away if you win the first round or even if you win 5 rounds or loose 10 rounds. Is much more about having a full control of what is happening with you mind and your wallet. If in trouble, just devise a self warning like - if I have lost more than x I will walk or if I stay more than 2 hours I will walk. This is much more effective than thinking of walking only if you have lost, because addiction comes actually from feeling well about those few wins that you remember above losses.
