Hamburg have been trying to promote to the Bundesliga for many years but still no result. He got really close in the recent two seasons by playing promotion games but still they can't make it. 

They are fighting for the third position right now and it doesn't look like they will be able to finish in top two once again. If they finish the regular season at the third position their probable opponent is likely to be Mainz or Koln for now in the promotion game. After all these attempts and fails I wouldn't be very confident about them this time as well. By the way I'm really sad to see Schalke in this poor condition. They might even relegate from the 2nd Bundesliga...

Hamburger is not going to get a promotion in my opinion. I actually believe that they will have to fight for a promotion in the next season as well. The difference in points are pretty big right now between them and the team which is in the second position. But their being in the third position at the end of the season is possible. But I would not trust them to actually get promoted.

Schalke is in grave danger. And I agree that it is very sad to see a team like this perform so badly. We always expect good performance from teams who have shown good performance in the past. But that is not the case for Schalke. I actually don't think they will get relegated from the second Bundesliga. But they are also not showing any signs of getting a promotion as well.

Schalke is in grave danger. And I agree that it is very sad to see a team like this perform so badly. We always expect good performance from teams who have shown good performance in the past. But that is not the case for Schalke. I actually don't think they will get relegated from the second Bundesliga. But they are also not showing any signs of getting a promotion as well.

So far, I have been too unfamiliar with the development of bundesliga 2, so it is not too updated with the latest conditions of bundesliga 2 at this time, as I remember, Schalke was a great team once in the bundesliga but now it seems that they no longer have that greatness in recent seasons, after being relegated in 2021 Schalke was able to rise and regain promotion in the 2022 season but unfortunately they were unable to return to compete in the Bundesliga and had to be relegated to League 2 This season, I think Schalke's declining performance is none other than their current financial stability after the economic crisis that hit Europe.

As expected where St. Pauli managed to win the match against Paderborn yesterday and of course this victory made St. Pauli remains comfortable at the top of the standings and they still have big chance of winning the title this season.
Meanwhile for Paderborn the chance of finishing in the top 3 is very small and absolutely impossible to achieve, Paderborn is currently in 8th place and to be able to reach the top 3 have to have at least 10 more points to be safe.
Paderborn might only have the chance to finish in 5th and 4th place if they are able to continue winning, but there are still several matches they have to miss against teams that are much stronger and of course this will make it difficult for them to get full points.

Currently Hamburger SV only has 1 point difference with Dusseldorf and allowing future shifts to occur more easily, I think Hamburger SV still has big chance of occupying the top 3 rankings.

St. Pauli has taken a big step towards Bundesliga 1. They are 11 points ahead of place 3 now and I cannot imagine they will lose more than 4 of the remaining games.
For Paderborn this was the last chance to stay within reach of place 3. Now they have a gap of 7 points.
Hamburger SV will probably finish the season at place 4 again. They did not manage a win against Fürth. And now they have to wait for Düsseldorf to lose one of their remaining games and they themselves have to win one more.

That right, from all this it is clear that St. Pauli already has an advantage in scoring points and they are team that is really difficult to beat so they have guarantee of promotion to Bundesliga 1.
Even for Holstein Kiel, which is currently in second place, it will be difficult to match or even surpass St. Pauli points tally because there is very little chance of them losing the remaining matches.
From now on we can conclude who will be promoted but when are in Bundesliga 1 it means the competition is getting tougher and St. Pauli must get stronger to keep up with the competition.

Dusseldorf itself, which is the team in third place, must really be able to maintain victory in the next match because Hamburger SV has the opportunity to shift their position if they make mistake.

Schalke’s performance has been inconsistent and that has cost them to move towards the relegation zone, a team that has been performing well and have had Champions League appearances in the past years got relegated from the Bundesliga and are now struggling in the 2nd division Bundesliga which is actually sad to see them struggle. I don’t know what has happened to them but they need to step up their game if they want to escape relegation this season.

They drew their last match and they now face Hannover who are ahead of them in their next game, it will be a difficult match for them but they need to give it their all since all points are important for them now. Most of their remaining fixtures for the season is against teams ahead of them on the table.

rostock were able to collect 3 important points against relegation with a 3-1 home win against wiesbaden and thus put pressure on the other clubs (e.g. schalke 04) in this table region
hertha bsc berlin beat paderborn 3-2 away and temporarily climb to 6th place in the table with 41 points

On the other hand, I appreciate every game that Hamburger SV is losing, never liked them. They play at home though, I guess it's gonna be a hard fight for FCK.
Seeming Schalke so far down in the rankings is a real pleasure (cause I am a BVB supporter  ) . Would't it be fun seeing them playing against teams like Rot Weiss Essen, Erzgebirge Aue and Borussia Dortmund II next season?

Very exciting matchday and a lot has happened at the top and bottom of the table. Karlsruhe has a run and they managed to beat St. Pauli. This gives St. Pauli only 2 points ahead from Kiel and Kiel will have even more motivation to reach place 1.
The battle for place 3 will continue between Düsseldorf and Hamburger SV at the next matchday. Hannover has not managed to get closer with a win.
Karlsruhe are making it exciting again, but a 7-point gap to place 3 is probably too much at the end.

Things are getting tighter again in terms of points at the bottom of the table. Osnabrück have won again at the second time, so it ssems they will fight until the end.
There are only 3 points between place 17 and 12. Bundesliga 2 is once again very exciting and it is not clear yet who will be relegated.

Tomorrow the ,atchday number 29 begins and both Rostock and Kaiserslautern have the chance to gain points against relegation. And they have a good chance, because nothing will happen anymore for their opponents this season. They will neither be relegated nor have the chance to be promoted. Hertha Berlin and Fürth are iat place 7 and 8.

But I am looking forward to the game at Saturday between Paderborn and Karlsruhe. Will Karlsruhe win again and attack place 3?

After St. Pauli lost the game against Karlsruhe they have also lost the game against Elversberg. St. Pauli led twice, but Elversberg won by one goal more in the end. And because Kiel also won their game they (St. Pauli) are no longer at place 1. They are only 5 points in front of place 3. I did not think it would be getting exciting again.
The next game from St. Pauli is against Hannover. That will not be an easy game too because Hannover still has a small chance for reaching place 3 at the end of this season.

Things are really looking good for Holstein Kiel. Most of this season they have been in the top 3 and they will play against Hamburger SV at Saturday. There they can show that they want to be promoted.
Interesting fact: In the stadium from Holstein Kiel only 15,000 spectators fits. They already have a special licence from the DFL for Bundesliga 2 and would also need it for Bundesliga 1. If they will not get it, they would have to move to another stadium.

Both matches have just ended. Schalke and Elversberg have only managed a draw. But the result is okay in terms of performance  Elversberg are pretty safe and will probably not be relegated. Schalke are now 5 points in front of place 16, but that could change tomorrow.
Paderborn won the other game 2:0. So it is almost certain that they are no longer in the danger zone. Nürnberg on the other hand, are not yet safe. They only have one point more than Schalke and it could be dangerous for them.

The case of Schalke04 is such a big surprise to me. As a kid, they have always been one of the popular German teams that we admire so much and even among the club names in our street football. How they moved from a top team in Germany to a team in division 2 and even struggling to remain there is what baffles me. I know the management contributed a lot to that and they really seem helpless at this point. Their chances of being relegated this season is high because there recent performance is not encouraging.

My lord, it is always intense to see that Hamburg somehow manages to mess things up. I guess this will always be the same for the next two decades to come for them!

I am not sure that this is even funny anymore, but the will once more manage to finish a season as 4th. My god... What the heck is wrong with them. Huge city, tons of money and yet they can't manage to get promoted again. Looking forward to a whole decade of 2. Bundesliga HSV.
