Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Sorry, LoyceV I recommended my friend to join the forum because he saw me when I opened the forum at work and he was curious to join too. I've had a few emails with withlisting requests, in which people don't even know they're talking about Bitcointalk. Just now I received one saying he wants whitelisting on a different forum. If not for that, I would have whitelisted him, but I can't believe he's sincere this way.
