Is any statement more appropriate to Bitcoin? On a more cynical note... if any of you have trouble getting your apps into the App Store, send them this quote

lol Apple. The times when they were innovative are long past. Trendy/idiot market, they call it now. Is there finally a Bitcoin wallet for the iWhatevers? I know the Android ones are buggy, but at least someone is trying there. Or do people still need permission from Apple to install programs, and Apple doesn't like Bitcoin? And... I already find C++ kind of unsuitable... would I trust my Bitcoins to an Objective-C Client? Perfect high-level security? Singularity! Those who still believe in "think different" are at Microsoft Research these days. Strange, isn't it? Still, I hope the Midori rumours hold true, they turn it into a deployment-ready OS and turn the market upside down with it. No offence, but I prefer even a proprietary modern OS to sticking with ever-patched designs from the last millenium. iOS. Think different. Bah, empty words. Okay, admittedly, I'd really have to think different to not allow customers to choose their own software.

If you snip out everything but "crazy ones" and "round peg, square hole" it would be more apt

That lil advert of theirs reads eerily similar to one I have seen some place before? Some brand of jeans or something if I recall..... Anyone else think this sounds familiar?

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system. - GA

I think this is closer: Is that a serious ad? If so, I will never buy their jeans. LOL

I think this is closer: Is that a serious ad? If so, I will never buy their jeans. LOL haha, I'm a Wrangler man when it comes ot work jeans myself. Used to love my Tommies, before he went all racist on us and the quality went to shit. Got some Polos that have held their own though. Very close on that ad, Phin. that may be what my brain was pieceing together. But, I think I have seen one even closer in verbage. Maybe an old CK ad? Edit; If this Wiki article is correct, I am likely mistaken and just associating; "Think Different" is an advertising slogan created for Apple Computer in 1997 Edit2; Looking more into the history of the ad campaign surrounding it, it seems it has been permanently etched in my mind. I guess the part they failed on was making sure anyone who ever saw it made the Apple connection. ;p Of course in my case, I am a sponge to just about everything I see but don't care much for adverts to begin with, so am possibly one of the minority who would not make the immediate association with apple.. Cheers

perhaps IBM(lenovo) ought to sue them over infrignement for the "thinkpad" name(which would predate their ad campaigin) ... wait suing your competitors into oblivion is too mainstream now?

But Levi's latest round attempting to identify with too many different people at once made it a flop, imho.

Aye, IBM's "Think" is much older. It is certainly speculated that Apple was intentionaly poking at the much older IBM with the new slogan of "Think Different".

He also did an entire 1-hour show on Hayek's Road to Serfdom, which gives him +1000 points, and makes up for a lot of his transgressions and tomfoolery.

Society would break down pretty fast if the "unimportant" people stop doing there jobs, just because it is 'socialist' doesn't mean it isn't correct.

That Levi ad is deceptive, because it features attractive models rather than real working people. Nerds, geeks, square pegs, and other names are given to people that are perceived to be incompetent because they are unattractive. Cronie-capitalism has become accepted in much of the West. It's just like in "Death of a Salesman" that now we have a generation raised on who-you-know mentality rather than merit. To address the OP: Apple stopped being about innovation with the Mac. They are all about packaging, aesthetics, and simplicity. I'm not slamming Apple for their success, but they tend to appeal to people more interested in style than innovation. it's just waiting for a big opportunity. people are saving them, not spending them on much of anything. it will pick up when Steve Jobs integrates it into iOS. then it will be worth millions
I'm waiting for Android users to have POS systems that allow easy and secure transactions. Steve Jobs will adapt it as *his* idea after it shows how profitable it is. He'll then add an "I" or "Mac" to his bitcoin app and market it to the trendy suburban boutiques. *I was not aware of Job's retirement or condition at the time.
