This weekend we have game which can be key factor in fight for title - Lisboa derby between Sporting and Benfica. Benfica 15 points behind Porto already fight for nothing, but they can seriously ruin things for Sporting who are 6 points behind Porto. In general, Benfica looking disappointing whole season and change of manager didn't helped them. On the other hand, their campaign in Champions league was solid - they kicked out Ajax and had solid 2nd leg game against Liverpool few days ago. But despite it, I see Sporting as clear favorite on Sunday's game.

What a marvelous game by Porto! They scored seven goals against Portimonense. Mehdi Taremi started goal show and he had a hat-trick. Promising youngster Evanilson scored two goals and our precious Pepe scored his first goal this season. They scored all goals in first one hour, last half hour we didn't see any goals. Too bad for people who made live goal bets though that's some greed and they get punished.
Porto can start celebrations next week if Sporting couldn't beat Benfica today. It's already nine points difference which is three matches and only four games left.

Porto won against Portimonense yesterday and increased their points gap from Sporting. Although, we all know Portimonense to be a weak team, who  couldn't have been able to withstand Porto. While, Porto good advantage of the situation, and scored 7 goals. However, Taremi was the man of the match as he scored 3 goals and made one assist.

Nevertheless, Benfica will be facing Sporting today, this will be an interesting. Because both teams are actually strong. But, is an opportunity for Benfica to pull more closer to Sporting on the standings. If only they will be able to win the match.

I have to say it was an absolute thrashing by Porto. they made it look really easy. Portimonense did not even have a chance in that match. It was looking like the whole match was being played in the half of Portimonense.
The goalkeeper of Portimonense did make some mistakes and let some shots go in the net which he should have kept out but overall I think the defense was really horrible.

Now seeing Sporting vs Benfica
Sporting vs. Benfica is going to be really interesting but I expect Spotting to win this match because they are in perfect form right now and also quite some points ahead of Benfica.

So, now we probably crown Porto as 2021/22 season champions. 9 point lead with just 4 rounds remaining - even miracle wouldn't help Sporting to reach them.
Benfica a bit surprisingly defeated Sporting 2:0 and eliminated them from the fight. Now Benfica is 6 points behind Sporting - I doubt that it's possible to reach them. I just remind that 2nd place give place in Champions league group stage, 3rd - just in qualifiers.
And that Porto win yesterday - they simply completely destroyed their opponent.

It all comes down to money, I don't know the laws of Portugal about sports but I think that as long as other clubs don't have a rich owner willing to spend a lot of money for the club to hire a good coach and good players then this current scenario in which Porto, Benfica, and Sporting are the only clubs that win the championship, so this scenario will never change. the question of the Portuguese also not taking advantage of African players who have talent and would accept to receive the salary that clubs are willing to pay because they do not have great financial resources and another problem. To be fully correct, only 5 clubs have won league in whole history. Besides big 3, Belenenses won it somewhere 80 years ago and Boavista over 20 years ago. I'm a bit surprised that Braga never won it - they usually keep close to big 3.
It's all about the money. Main clubs have way bigger budgets, best academies and etc. While most of remaining clubs in Portugal is really poor and they're not able to compete as equal, it's like closed circle. Something similar like Bayern in Bundlesliga.
@Slow death, good point about African players, there is very few of them in Portugal. Seems that they prefer Brazil players. They also don't get good money in Brazil, especially playing in lower divisions.

This three clubs are the biggest in Portugal and they always buy the best players. I think this will continue always until some club invests big in transfers. Also this season everything is decided in the top 3 and i think its impossible that it changes

The difference between these 3 clubs and the rest of Portugal is huge. Sporting CP has recently been added, it used to be Benfica or Porto. And these teams have also done well in the Champions League for a long time, Porto even won under Mourinho's leadership. But in itself you now have an exciting championship every year because these 3 teams are evenly matched in all mutual matches. I can't say which of the 3 is really the best.

Well, you are absolutely right, the reason why these teams always shine is due to the support they have in terms of money, well, it should not be detracted either because in the UCL when Benfica plays or goes to the UCL, it is really a very tough team. and powerful, Benfica always does things to get very good teams out of Europe, for me Benfica is the team that has shone the most in the competitions.
