Of course not. Your ROI will be around 1 or 2 years for real per card. If you planning let it run for the next 4 years or so than you can buy cards for more than the double price. Wait for the bear market next year and start buying cards.

At the moment i get used 2060 Super or 2070 Super for around 350 - 400€. I think this is a better deal.

400£ to USD is 552$ and 2060 super only do 37 MH on ETH but gtx1660 super is 429$ and do 31-32MH on ETH, isn't all this the same thing? If you can buy a 2060 super for 552$ then you can buy 1660 super for 429$ the difference is just 5MH bro

You don't know calculations or what? Why said 1 or 2 years to ROI? For example let me start with gtx1660 super which OP said he can get at 429$ and this card will net you 2.5$ presently, it's even 2.7$ on other pools like poolin but I will use 2.5$ and in a month that's 75$, in 12 months ( a year ) that's 900$ mate, OP will ROI in 5.5 to 6 months ( 450$ ) arrghh stop discouraging others, the only thing that makes ROI longer is change in profitability, bear season etc

It depends, the truth is you will never know if bear market is coming soon or not, last few months I was discouraged that bear market is already here so I don't buy more GPUs but today I've made back my ROI, you might be in same position as me few months back.

If you are into this for a long term then it will worth the risk but if you just want to make back your money and sell the GPUs ASAP then it's a bad idea, I would definitely look for used GPUs to buy instead, right now I can order for many RX580 8gb GPUs at 230$ each starting from 20x GPUs upward but I don't want to cos I'm not in rush, the choice is yours to make

Exactly 😌 even the gtx1660 supers cheap more than the 2060 super to me, another thing to consider is the amount of energy they both draw from socket, gtx1660super still do better here, they can do as low as 65 watt for 31 or 32 MH

Need to be very careful here, is not about discouraging, is about reality and I think he is giving honest advice here, I always say that mining is for losers because if you time the market well you will make 10000x more money, mining is not bad if you already have a gpu or gpus and is in profit but mining will not make you lot of money, cryptocoins are once again going up and history shows that in 2014 and 2017 cryptocoins crashed and then gone up and then crashed very hard and then the bear market started, so if history serves well then after this last pump, everything will crash to hehell.

So my advice here is, do not buy coins now, do not buy gpus now, wait coins to crash 99% then decide what to do, also remember that many coins that were pumped in 2014 died after few weeks to months and in 2018 happened the same, so apply logic when buying or mining coins that can die anytime because once the bear market hits, expect at least 24 months of misery, pain, nightmares and so on. This market is cruel, so be smart.

@Metroid I understand where you coming from but honestly you always talk about miners going to feel the wrath of bear market soon, this is since February of this year and at that time I got some 1660 supers which I've already made their money back, If one don't take risks how will they move ahead? Sometimes fear is a weakness the best advice is to tell others about what may happen, I was able to buy those GPUs because I'm ready for 4years to make my ROI back, everything has risks in this life and if one isn't ready to loss they won't change anything.

For me only the 1660 Super makes sense as it can mine the most well known algorithms like ETH,ETC and RVN to name some. Also because of the price of cryptocurrencies as of now I think the ROI will not be that long.

For me it would also make sense the RTX 3060 ti only if you are buying it and keeping it mining for you and are not worried that much about ROI of this card,in other words you are planning for a long time like 1-2 years to come and then sell all your mined coins which in theory should be higher than they are now.

My advice is to plan ahead of yourself

1. Will you be handle to keep Mining even if bear market starts anytime?
2. Do you have free electricity?
3. Can you hold your coins if the dump in value?
4. It can take 4 years to get your ROI back if market changes, are you ready for this?

If you find an answer to all this then you should be able to make a decision, I bought my gtx1660 for 500$ in my country in February 2021, that's more than you getting yours right now, good luck

and now you are acting like me, I did not want to believe in history, I thought manipulators would try something different and crash the market and it did not happen, is acting the same as 2014 and 2018. So if history serves right then this is the last pump then crash, now I will follow history and it seems you are not so let's see if history will repeat or not and by the way last crash we had in may I bought a lot of coins now I made up to 5x already, so even though 50% of myself did not want to believe in history, I invested some of my money if i was wrong, before buying something, dollar cost average always.

Six months to this time should be your target OP, we are still in good market season right now so assuming you invested in GPU right now it should be around February 2022 to get your ROI back, to me it's still worth the risk because BTC and crypto is just way better than 2017 so don't expect the great crash of 2018 to happen again

I don't know about others but when investing in mining rigs I always have this mindset of making back half of the money I invested, let's say I invest 1000$ I will only want 500$ back as far as possible and whatever happens later I'm born ready for the long run, if a bull market is real then 5 month interval is piece of cake

Metroid what makes you think that crypto market can crash 99% again? Lol I don't believe that, it's like saying we will see BTC at 1000$ in 2017 whereas Corona virus was the reason why BTC tastes 3500$ in march 2020, if not that won't ever happen unless Covid 2.0 is imminent which I don't think so, we have too many grabbers waiting every corner to buy cheap price, the exposure of crypto in Covid period have opened the eye of many, crypto performs better than stock remember?

Nobody can answer this question for you because nobody knows what will happen in the near future. Currently there is a lot of regulation going on with congress and POS coins like ETH v2 might be in japarody.

There is also the issue of difficulty and miner revenue. London fork is activated however we still don’t know what our profits will be in periods of low transaction fee or high transaction fees.

Bitmain and other ASIC manufactures are releasing very fast and efficient ETH ASICS which way overpower a bunch of GPUs. There is no idea how many of these will be produced.

There then is the question of what the GPU will be worth in the near future. Can be 75% off retail or something like 25% of retail.

march 2020 was the greatest beartrap to date, I said that many times last year and nobody went to buy cryptos, they waited few months and then started buying for 10x more the price of march 2020, there is no need to be a virus 2.0, what we are seeing right now is the start of a next level of a huge bulltrap, not selling my 30% I have cause I believe thieves will take this thing a little higher, my btc target is 79k and I will sell my 30% once is close to that target, 70k to 79k is my target to start selling.

Hmm if BTC can make it to 79k I'm wondering what the price of ETH would be, this means miners will be making 3x of their profits which will surely makes ROI come faster too, if 30MH can go up to 6$ per day again it's going to be great

I wouldn't consider 2020 to be a year of bear trap for crypto, covid is what happened, this was why crypto loses tons of value, if covid never happened in that year BTC can't ever go as low as 3000+ $ and ETH can't ever goes as low as 150$

Lol I don't believe that, it's like saying we will see BTC at 1000$ in 2017 whereas Corona virus was the reason why BTC tastes 3500$ in march 2020, if not that won't ever happen unless Covid 2.0 is imminent which I don't think so, we have too many grabbers waiting every corner to buy cheap price, the exposure of crypto in Covid period have opened the eye of many, crypto performs better than stock remember?

march 2020 was the greatest beartrap to date, I said that many times last year and nobody went to buy cryptos, they waited few months and then started buying for 10x more the price of march 2020, there is no need to be a virus 2.0, what we are seeing right now is the start of a next level of a huge bulltrap, not selling my 30% I have cause I believe thieves will take this thing a little higher, my btc target is 79k and I will sell my 30% once is close to that target, 70k to 79k is my target to start selling.

This pretty much.
Hmm if BTC can make it to 79k I'm wondering what the price of ETH would be, this means miners will be making 3x of their profits which will surely makes ROI come faster too, if 30MH can go up to 6$ per day again it's going to be great
hehe i thought too but i saw how eth hashrate increased last couple of months when eth pumped from 3k-4k Smiley, We were so good when we had fees.eip1559 hit us very badly.
For person who wants to buy gpu question: Do you own gpu right now? i mean are you mining?

We don't know if it will go to $79K and even if it does, it might be momentarily. So sure your profits will be 3x if you perhaps hold all your ETH until that happens. However most miners usually market sell their ETH as soon as it hits their exchange account.

And the price of ETH can still be similar to what is it today or $4K and BTC can go to $79K because there is a chance that there is going to be a huge sell-off from the ratio. It can be a reverse outcome of 2017 where people pumped BTC and then that money went into ETH. Right now it can be the opposite, pump ETH and later on dump ETH and bump BTC. Only time can tell what happens.
