The competitor recently of Ethereum upon fees is the BSC/BNB. There are other projects that have been working with that chain because they find the fee to be cheaper than usual. But if you just want to have the cheap fees upon transfers, there really are other altcoins that can offer you that. Some choices are Dogecoin, Litecoin, TRX, XRP, Nano and there are others more. Those are the coins that I've been seeing when people are talking about cheap fees.

If you look at the new projects majority are migrating to BSC chain and then there are projects that are migrating to other chains like Hoo Smart chain, Reef Chain etc away from Ethereum because the fees are still huge and we can see many complaints from users for the projects i invested as well especially in some of the NFT projects and i know that they are implementing their upgrades but by that time it will cause the damage and this is the best opportunity for other chains to be prominent and most probably most of the projects will expand to all the chains to avoid fees congestion.

I have to say that there is a good chance Dot and Matic could, we all know that BNB is already there with BSC but Dot and Matic could get there, even maybe avax? I know that one is a long shot but it is possible. Basically what the new good projects realized is that, it is not about having a good to buy and sell, but to have it used as well. Look at how much ethereum is bought, and look at how much it is used, I am pretty sure there is a good amount of it used as gas fee or other stuff, compared to be bought or sold.

Many new projects are doing this because they realized that this is basically a better way to make money and I am sure that many new other projects will follow it. But for those who want to stick in a decentralized platform, they will still choose ETH network. However, many are now moving towards BSC because of its relatively cheaper fees. I just hope that eth will resolve their gas fees because up until now it is still quite expensive for small traders. BSC is gaining popularity because it is also backed by top 1 exchange but later on, I think this network will also be proliferated with crappy tokens.

Yes I feel there is a good block chain that can compete with the ethereum blockchain and that is the binance smart chain although it was built on the ethereum blockchain but it boasts of a much faster transaction speed very low transaction costs and has proven to be just as secure as a taken blockchain providing a platform where new project developers can create their cryptocurrency project without worrying about the users having to pay a transaction fees.

There are chains like the BSC out there which are having lower transaction fees and more advanced features. ERC-20 is having the advantage solely because it was the first smart contract platform. Also, one of the concerns about BSC is that it is under some sort of influence from the Binance exchange and therefore it may not be 100% decentralized. And in the world of cryptocurrency, decentralization is a very important aspect.

Many project used of Ethereum for their transaction before and now.But the fact is, after the rise in transaction fee. Some new projects had locked up bsc as their platform. Maybe seems, they skipped of Ethereum. But actually, they had not done that one. Instead they chose the coin, which reduce their free for transaction of their coin.

In order to compare the Ethereum network with others, we need to wait for the results of the Ethereum 2.0 update. Any coin that has smart contracts can compete with ethereum. However, so far not a single coin has reached the heights and popularity that the ethereum coin has. There will always be competition, and that's good. This forces the cryptocurrency to constantly improve. Who knows, maybe someday another coin will overtake ethereum, but this will not be soon.

The high gas prices and therefore high transaction fees on the ethereum network is probably the most discussed topic on this forum in the last few months. It is definitely true that Eth really needs to do something in order to bring the transaction fee down to even make their platform useable again for small and regular transaction, but they are working on it.
There are a few contenders to Eth out there already, like polkadot, cardano or radix. Yes also bsc but that does not count as it is only a copy of ETH.
