Here we are unified to show our demand and support from Persian speaking members to create it.

Dear Persian speaking Members,
Please add a post under this topic, and show your demand and support in English.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

If you want to have a separate sub-board. Then there's still a long way to go in terms of activity. One of the requirements is if the current other languages thread is very activity with so many native Persian speakers posting there.

In that section, the Việt (Vietnamese) , Pakistan and বাংলাদেশ (Bangladesh) user s seem to be so active but are yet to get a local sub board of their own. I think I have seen several requests for at least one of the languages before, but they have all been in vain so far.

Not really, according to the numbers in your local thread. Since creation back in 2014, 581 posts were written, and this year only ~20. These numbers indicate that there is not enough interest for writing in Persian, at least for now.

Best you can do is to start being more active in that one and try to bring more people into that thread so maybe one day you have a chance for your own local board, but as @Bitcoin_Arena, it won't be easy to get one.

Dear Bitcoin_Arena,

Persian speaking people are mostly located in Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan that sum a total population of 83+31+9= 124M total according to wikipedia.
Turkey speaking countries are turkey and azerbaijan that sum a total popolation of 83+10= 93M total according to wikipedia.

Now this forum have a separate sub-board for Turkey with 93M population but no sub-forum for Persian speaking people!

That is really not fair.

I know one reason also is that the forum is left to right mostly and Persian is right to left and that is not good looking for Persian reader.

By the way, we can provide anything you request but please let me have one exact roadmap.

Omega star Stream told me that:

Your best bet would be to create a topic on the Meta board. If there's enough demand and support from other Persian members, I'm pretty sure theymos would consider creating it.

that is why I created this topic.

I follow the rules and I am sure that we can have what we deserve no matter how much time or work it required.

Just let me know somebody that is responsible and show me the exact roadmap to have a separate sub-board for persian people.

Dear Rikafip,

I am not looking for easy job. I am looking for a good job.
Be fair, what can somebody write in a single thread?

I am sure that I can manage to aggregate persian community to look to bitcointalk forum different, But I need some more options from your side as well.

For example why you just count one thread? what if I aggreagte all persian topics in Other languages/locations board?

We can start to write in that board then move all persian topics to Persian sub-board once it's created.

Take a look at other threads in Other Languages section. In some of them there are dozens of active members writing hundreds of posts per month, and yet they are still waiting for their own local board, while you don't meet either of those two requirements, at least not yet.

The same thing was with my local board (Croatian); we also had only one thread and we got our own local board after forum staff  got convinced that there is enough interest and a real need for our own local board. And same thing happened for every other local board as that's how it works; first you have to show that there is a real need for your own local board, and then go for it and not the other way around.

Even then, it will take some time (probably years) before you get your own local board as those in charge don't wanna make new board just to die out in a year or two, like it happened with quite a few boards already so they want to be absolutely sure that it makes sense to make a new one.

For example why you just count one thread? what if I aggreagte all persian topics in Other languages/locations board?
Well, do that then, add all that to your first post as an extra argument.

Just my 2 cents as I am not the one who decides on the matter. By the way, I am not against making new boards, on the contrary, I think that at least 2-3 communities deserve their own.

Not all Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan people is speak Persian, 124M total population isn't accurate. It's worth to mention the total population of a countries doesn't have any relation with Bitcoin forum, it's all determined on the activity and Bitcoin users in this forum.

County A has 1.000.000 populations, only 1000 persons interested with Bitcoin, and only 100 persons active in sub board.
Country B has 50.000 populations, but all persons interested with Bitcoin, and 10.000 persons active in sub board.

Of course Country B will have a local board since 10.000 persons has more activity than 100, it's just a example.

Persian population mostly on Iran, which is Bitcoin is not popular and had much adoption, as you can see Iran didn't included in this statistic.

What you need is make the Persian thread has a lot activity first, the chances will be bigger to get the official local board. Anyway don't ever try to spam, burst posting, or whatever to boost the activity, you could got temp banned or the chances will be less.

This is not true. Iran may not have the biggest bitcoin adoption but it definitely is not as low as you think. The statistics you quoted is also worthless.
Just to put the adoption into perspective you should know two things. First is that Iran has been experiencing a big inflation over the past couple of years. In simple terms bitcoin's price in IRR when it dumped to the absolute bottom of $3100 in 2018 was the same price in IRR back in 2017 when it was $8400. In other words when if it dropped from $8400 in 2017 to $3100 in 2018 its price remained the same in IRR.
Here is some big numbers:
2017-12: $20000 =   820,000,000 IRR
2020-12: $20000 = 5,440,000,000 IRR

To be fair the price in 2020 coincides with dollar price bubble which would burst in a month and price drops 35% but still you can see the inflation and how bitcoin has been providing an excellent option against the inflation for Iranians.

Second is the sanctions. Iran has been under sanctions for more than 40 years and during most of it Iranian banking system has been cut off from the rest of the world. So when an Iranian wants to make an online payment (like buying a game from Steam) they can't. Bitcoin solved this issue easily since it can not be censored or sanctioned!

@ebi_javanmard: You should probably check the forum rules, because you're breaking many of the rules.

For instance: don't post 3 (short) posts in a row, only post English on the English boards, and don't spam many topics with the same post. If you think a topic or post breaks the rules, use the Report to moderator link.

Even if someone is able to do so, it's not allowed to create a new topic in Persian there.
Persian has its own local thread and anyone who creates a new Persian topic in Other languages/locations board and outside of Persian local thread will be banned.

Thanks LoyceV,

Today we removed about 40 Spam topics from Forum.
I understand that I am a newbie and not familiar enough with rules.
But once I know the rules, I obey them.
Also you may know that I spent 40*6 min= 240 minute = 4 hours to help to all of us, specially Persian speaking people, to have better forum.

I now know that I could report them, ok next time I will.

But I think forum must be thankful that I invested 4 hours of my time at least on it, and with moderators help we removed so many spam topics from forum.

Next time, I take more care, and I always obey rules, and never break any rules on purpose.

Sincerely yours,
Ebi

As long as the Persian local thread isn't active enough, I don't think anything can be achieved in this thread.

The local thread should become more active in a normal way. If you ask people on social medias to join the forum just to make the local thread more active (as it seems you intend to do it and encourage others to do so), that will probably lead to spam. If there's spam, be sure it will have a negative effect. Note that I'm not saying you shouldn't introduce the forum to others. All new users are welcomed. But it's not a good idea to ask people to register to the forum just to make a thread active while they don't have anything to say. Introduce the forum to others because there are lots of helpful content here, because they can get the answer to their questions, not just because you want the Persian local thread to be active.

There's a so long way to convince theymos to add Persian board. There are some local threads with much more activity that still don't have their separate board.

Also, you broke the rules one more time.
It's not allowed to make multiple posts in a row.

I got it at last! The problem is that I received several deleted post notice but non of them mentioned why they deleted!
Now after your note, I got it what it means multiple post in a row. Cheesy
You will never see again multiple posts in a row from me.

By the way I think we need 10 active and expert cryptocurrency Persian speaking people that wish to transfer they knowledge to others.

Then this forum will be active.

We have plenty of them.

Dear Jawhead999,

Iran is a very complicated country.
So the statistics you provided is totally incorrect.
For your information according to Cambridge Bitcoin Electricity Consumtion Index, %4.64 of all bitcoins is mined in Iran:

https://cbeci.org/mining_map

Also according to a local Report 17% Iranian people have cryptocurrencies:

https://peivast.com/p/99230

So I assure you that the statistics you provided is incorrect and don't count on it.

And just FYI I never break the rules on purpose.

Today we removed about 40 Spam topics from Forum.
Who is "we" in this sentence? You had 18 of your own spam posts removed in the last week alone, so I doubt your ability to remove spam topics.

That's an understatement.

You keep posting "I am managing all Persian topics in Other languages/locations board.". What makes you think you're a moderator here?

Dear LoyceV,

Thanks for your reply. I really mean it. Smiley

"We" means me and moderators together. Is that correct or not?! We removed about 40 spam posts yesterday from forum. I did not wanted to spam, but wanted to remove spam, just did not knew that I can report them simply in other way!, That is not a big mistake!

This is my own social responsibility. I am not a moderator for sure, But I will help moderators to do so! You know some of these spams that removed yesterday was there for several years! Without my help, they might reside there for years!

Now "we" removed spam Persian posts from forum and ready to have real bitcoin and cryptocurrency expert posts here.

It's part of my big plan. I am patient and serious. Cool

Hi,

I am an old member of bitcointalk and Iranian Crypto community.

I strongly support creating a sub-board for Persian speaking people.

I see a big demand for it, but because of current single Persian thread, the demand is distributed to several less important social networks and forums.

I think once bitcointalk allow Persian sub-board we as members of Iran blockchain association can support it to generate valuable content.

Just let me know how to proceed ebi, once the process is near final.

Regards,
Sepehr

Obviously, I support the idea of having a Persian sub-board, but it doesn't look to be a trivial job for the forum moderators and staff, because of the strict need for RTL (bidirectional text i/o) support.
Without this feature, I'm afraid it wouldn't hold enough water, because the majority of its active users would be non-technical members who care about UI and ease of use, ways more than technical folks who typically are not expected to be much of an active poster/reviewer in such a board.

I'm not sure if it helps Persian speakers to learn bitcoin more efficiently or not? But I recognized that they seriously want it.
Why do you personally want it? This is literally your first post on this forum. You haven't contributed anything in the Persian thread.

Honestly, I don't see it happening. I just took a look at your local thread and pages 30 and 31 contain everything you wrote in 2021. With 20 posts per page, you didn't even write 40 posts in January-September of 2021. There are many other languages who deserve a local board before you do. The Nigerians requested one and have still not gotten their wish granted. Use their local thread as a comparison with your own to calculate your odds. I don't think they look good.
