Should you sell ethereum and btc to buy Solana/SOL?

NEAR is doing everything that Solana projects promised to do in regards to DeFi and didn't deliver. I'm farming on Ref Finance right now and making 50 usd in rewards per day. Lending and NEAR backed stablecoins are coming this month. Cheddar finance launches in a week and another AMM with farming launches in a month. NEAR is valued at under 10usd and hasn't pumped like Solana yet, but it will when people discover it. But what do I care anyway, I'm making bank farming on Ref Finance, so I guess keep buying your Solana and Cardano and stay poor.

$SOL is good buy too but the main point here was you should not put all your eggs in one basket especially if you current holdings is a good investment such as ETH and BTC. There's nothing wrong about accumulating Solana since it might reach the Ethereum price level in future due to it's feature that can rival any blockchain project right now.

You don't need to sell your BTC and ETH to buy Solana. And I think that you shouldn't do such thing also. You can miss a big opportunity in BTC and ETH in that case. I would recommend you to keep your coins for a long time period. And you buy some Solana in addition to them. If you don't have enough funds, then you should be a little patient and then make an investment into it.

Solana's growth in span of 1 month is really amazing. Those investors who invest when the price is cheaper are lucky to ride on it. However the future is still uncertain so we cant say if this project is only good for short term or can be profitable in the long run.

But I dont recommend to sell your eth or btc to buy Sol, it would be best to use another capital or switch your other altcoins (whom you think are not progressing) to Solana if you're really determine to hold this coin. It has a possibility to grow further as long as the dev and the team behind this project keep on working to have a progress.

i think solana wasnt a new coin but there is a name solana before  . the coin can be making a comeback and it was a success because its been talked about now anywhere . just because the coin rose quickly doesnt mean its for short term only but i think that it can be suitable for a long term because of its utility and other useful functions , no wonder why it surpasses dogecoin .

Not sure how you made a comparison between solano and Dogecoin as the use case are completely different. If you looked at the market capital and made the comparison then i can understand because it does not mean anything as it keeps on changing over time. When it comes to the valuation Solano is trading over $160 and there is no way we could see Dogecoin over a dollar anytime in the near future. Use case also different.

I am sorry but solana being as high as it is right now makes no sense at all after today. They SHUT THE NETWORK DOWN!!! Do you have any idea what that means? They are as trustworthy as a website that uses SQL or something, there is absolutely zero chance that I would ever put my money into SOL ever again.

If the project creators have the power to control when to shut it down or when to restart it, then it is as centralized as it gets. From now on for me XRP, SOL, BCH, BSV, TRON, USDT all have the same impact and I would ever invest into any of them, as long as centralization is a thing for them, they are worth zero to me and anyone who pays more than zero for them is getting scammed.

like the previous incident that happened to Dogecoin, the price changes up to 300% in an instant. are most people interested in dogecoin?? of course the answer is YES. So is Solana! I myself will be more consistent in saving ethereum and bitcoin for now and will not sell my assets to buy solana. I am not affected by the price movement of the solana token even though it is ranked seventh on coinmarketcap.

IMO, we can't say that this is good for the short term. if you look at last year's SOL 1 chart, you will see the movement that it takes time to go up high. maybe august is the start of its upside and that makes us think that it's pretty good for the short term. however, for popular coins like SOL, I might prefer to hold on to the long term over the short term. other than that, the potential of BTC and ethereum is also quite good. if I had it, I wouldn't sell it for SOL. if you are interested in SOL, then create your own portfolio without selling your popular coins. After all, having a principal like "don't put everything in 1 basket" will keep you from losing big because of 1 coin.

Solana is really a good investment whether for short or long term depends on what your plans. I am confident that Solana will become more expensive in the course of time due to its ability and helpful use case in daily basis. Sol is another important project in crypto ecosystem.

But the problem is Solana already reaches the highest price and now, the price is down so we do not know if Solana can still increase and hit the next highest price or it will still stay at the current price. But if you want to gamble with your money, you can try selling some Ethereum to buy Solana but make sure you can buy Solana at a low price as the price is now trying to increase following bitcoin price. Otherwise, you can still hold your Ethereum and search for the other profit so you can buy Solana without selling your Ethereum.

Solana rose very aggressively in the last month so I am a little doubtful whether it will continue to rise like this in short term. Well, Sol's rally was running pretty strong, the ecosystem seemed to have had a bit of a hiccup but then quickly finalized the edit and with information like that, a lot of people really have the mindset to cut losses and take profits on a few assets without increasing prices to move to Sol with opportunity nurturing. It has also gone to $194 also at the peak prices and this jan the prices were low and SOL is emerging as the one of the best coin but i would not suggest you exchange it for btc but for ETH you can surely go for and invest in SOL but nothing is guaranteed in this volatile market like with it's blockchain going offline the prices went down to $140 and lower also and many could have panicked out this time but for long term you can have your hands on it and gain profits in long run.

I see solana's progress this month very well, experiencing fantastic graphics. if you have to sell a valuable asset like bitcoin or ethereum and risk solana it might be too risky. however, if it's on a small scale it's not a problem. let's say selling 5% bitcoin and 10% ethereum to buy solana is good. as long as you have to always monitor the development of the price of solana and determine the target for solana so that the profit can be more than the bitcoin or ethereum being sold.

Solana is a good coin for quick investment.
As an investor i will definitely buy it and invest on it.
But yes coming to the title of the OP, I won’t sell my ETH or BTC for buying this.
I will continue holding my BTC and ETH as long as i can. Yes if i have some extra funds and some little time to make quick profits, then i can go for Solana.
Till now Solana has done pretty good results, wish it will keep doing the same.
