Yes if ETH gas fee stays high then holding Cardano would be a good choise, well holding cardano in any way is a good choise but 5$ is very far now and i dont think its gonna reach there any time soon.

If the target price for Cardano is $5 in the short term, that can happen as we know how good Cardano has moved so far. So it is not too difficult for Cardano to reach $5 but that will depend on bitcoin price moves.

Cardano isn't going to make it. If you compare it to something like NEAR protocol, it doesn't hold a flame to it. Ref Finance has 2 second transaction finality and 8k TPS. The AMM also has yield farming and is constantly adding new features. AMMs on Cardano can only do 1 TPS and farming isn't live. The estimated TPS for normal transactions on Cardano is 45 TPS, that's barely faster than Ethereum. I see no advantages to using Cardano even over Ethereum.

I disagree with this statement. In fact, ADA hasn't touched 5$ yet but the big reason I suspect is that they arrived later than the defi party in March. While they just upgraded the Smart contract on the mainnet Alonzo( 12th 9). it's called a programmable validator (as Benkort explains). In fact, ADA is up over 1700% since January up to its latest ATH. Among the altcoins that might stand out this year, I think ADA is part of them. The truth is all of that so-called predictions are just mere speculation because no one knows what happens next, that's why it will remain as a guess, so let's put it that way.

Is it possible for Cardano to replace Ethereum? IMHO, I think that's not possible yet although Ethereum has some issues today regarding the expensive transaction fees, But it doesn't mean they can easily overturn the original smart contract provider. I don't think Cardano will be able to replace any of the competitors, because they are very far behind the competition.
On the hype, the price of the coin has grown well, but you do not need to burden yourself with hopes that the crypto market will continue to grow.

although there's an issue with cardano perhaps it cannot stop the project to make good improvement in the future, and yes many analyst saying cardano will bump more before this year end and i agree with them, it's just the bearish take over the market reasons it goes dip as well along with other alts after the fork, but so far at this point it still keep regaining , and in fact it's now listed in CMC as a trending coin despite of the current situation. so expect after days or weeks there will be an improvement again.
