Hi guys,
Just wondering what are some safe websites that aren't scams for buying ASIC miners. Also would help if anyone knows a good machine to buy?
Thanks in advance.

The safest place to buy ASICs is the official websites of equipment manufacturers.
Thanks, Captain Obvious Smiley
If it is impossible to buy equipment on the official sites, or everything has already been sold this year, then look for stores on aliexpress that have been operating for more than 3 years and have a lot of reviews. Do not send large amounts of money, split the purchase into several batches.

It will be more costly if you are buying new ASIC miner, better to buy used to cut down the cost, I've use Alibaba to buy few ASICS for friends and they work perfectly ok, here is what you need to look out for

1. Make sure you buy from money back guaranteed sellers
2. Make sure sellers are not new and they have sold many ASICS before also read buyers review
3. Make sure seller is fully verified

Didn’t realize that they stopped ASIC sales. So if you are in North America how can you buy ASICS like an Antminer these days?

It seems that Bitmain temporarily stopped sales due to the China ban, according to the blog they were suppose to resume in Sept but didn’t.

So unless someone exports them somehow out of China seems you can’t buy them directly anymore.

I don't know who stopped selling ASICs in China, but in Shenzhen, shopping centers sell thousands of pieces of various mining equipment.
The funny thing about this situation is that sending ASICs to Russia or Kazakhstan is much easier now than it was in 2017.
Do not trust the news, the business will always work.

It seems that the recent ban of cryptocurrencies in China may soon destroy the ASIC manufacturing industry due to their strictly specialized purpose. I can not imagine how the Bitmain company will continue its business in the foreseeable future.

You now have less opportunities to buy an ASIC than it was before. You were better to buy it from Bitmain about a month ago. So there is almost no safe place to buy a miner. Anyway, you can go across market aggregators and try to find a bid posted by an individual seller. Since China's citizens are currently not allowed to legally mine coins, they are likely to sell and ship you their computing equipment at a reasonable price.

In any case, I advice you to use the escrow service provided, for example, by any trusted user from the Bitcointalk forum.

We spoke to Bitmain after countless of tries... they told us 100 pieces minimun order for direct orders.

The resellers are moving to madeinchina and globalsources. But I think these websites dont offer trade assurance as of today.

So the small miner is left hanging again..  Angry

You can buy used on ebay if in the usa.

You can't get new gear easily.

I have some used s9's if you are usa based.

As for new gear really hard to get any at all at the moment.

Blokforge a great usa reseller is screwing around due to lack of gear.

read this thread

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5363391.0

and blokforge was a really good seller for years.

Who even spends that much and buy ASICs from sites like Alibaba or Aliexpress?

I know some merchants have the Trade assurance program, but there have been several complaints about people buying equipment that stops working after a few weeks..... well, after the trade assurance period has expired.

It's funny but is entirely possible they place something inside to make that hardware to stop working after some time, like a timed small bomb, it could be a circuit or many circuits, a board to be fried, I heard some asic companies were doing that to random ltc asic miners back in 2013, to me in the end they are all scammers in some way, asic market is scammer's paradise.

It's less of a headache if one just stick with graphic cards instead of Asic miners

1. ASICS can't be fixed if something go wrong, you will need to buy complete power supply if that's the problem and if it's not you will have to send out machine to get it fixed

2. Once they give problem your rig is going offline, but not GPUs you just need to remove the bad one and others will keep mining

This reminded me of the malware called "logic bomb" as once infected the host it waits until a certain predefined time to blow up the data or do whatever it is programmed to do.While I believe this to happen in the Cybersecurity world I find it difficult to believe it that ASIC producers are doing it unless solid evidence is provided, meaning a lot of ASICS blowing up for example after 6 months of use.In the IT world everything can happen but I find it a bit difficult that even good companies like Bitmain do this.

You can also try eBay,

It’s the safest place for a buyer and the most risky place for a seller, especially during a bull market.

Generally eBay always sides with the buyer. So in the past people bought ASICS or GPUs and then a bear market started and they found out the hard way how mining is actually no full proof and instead of taking the loss they make a claim saying “product not as described” and people are forced to accept a return on a used item.

Stop saying what you aren't sure of, someone I knew living very close to me ordered for 3 pieces of ASIC miners, a innosilicon T2T and two cheetah miner F1 24T from China and he received them this week, all three are working perfectly fine
