As the level of Bitcoin adoption gets bigger and better, in a short time from now Bitcoin is going to be accepted for payment for tickets and another airport terminal payment.
Simón Bolívar Airport which is an international airport in Venezuela is working on modalities to start accepting Bitcoin.

Adoption of bitcoin will be increased more in the upcoming days and it’s great to see that Venezuela airport is accepting bitcoin. As soon as more future ETFs are got approval, we might see more good news like this one. Although few person's still spreading fuds by tagging that bitcoin is nothing or worthless. But those aren't matter to bitcoiners.

I hope you drop a link that we can review, because speculation alone is not enough. Because I want to read the whole news. Somehow they accept Bitcoin, while the economic development is getting worse, so would it really work if one of the airports accepted Bitcoin payments. Because after all, so far the airport is affiliated with local banks to carry out the cash disbursement process.

This is just the easiest way for a transparent transaction and would also serve as a transparent ledger with detailed distributed peer-to-peer temper-proof network which would limit the stress of having bookers presenting manipulated ledgers because I so sure with the well structured data base and secured ledger used at the airport manipulation is still common and Bitcoin could help stop this

This is one advantage if they will deal with bitcoin or any crypto, because it will answer the transparency problem.
This is a long running problem where a lot of governments or government agencies are culprit of being corrupt.
I have the feeling that other international airports will follow such move, which is actually good for bitcoin adoption.
The experience of Venezuela with this implementation can easily be disclosed to others, so we will know if they are getting more positive benefits with this initiative if others will follow thru.

Mehn! This is amazing! The everyday-adoption is just making it interesting and even more. If the news continues just as positive as this, in no time, we'll have people understand that there are some other cool features aside the volatility of Bitcoin. And this will only keep creating an avenue for other businesses to reconsider and accept Bitcoin as a payment option.

I am not so surprised about the development in Venezuela. The country's currency has been suffering from so much hype inflation that they have been trying to make major monetary overhauls in the past few years.

Quote
CARACAS, Oct 1 (Reuters) - Venezuela on Friday launched its second monetary overhaul in three years by cutting six zeros from the bolivar currency in response to hyperinflation, simplifying accounting but doing little to ease the South American nation's economic crisis.
......

President Nicolas Maduro's government in 2018 removed five zeros from the currency due to high prices. That came a decade after the late President Hugo Chavez subtracted three zeros from the bolivar with the promise of single-digit inflation, which was not achieved.
Source: https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/venezuela-subtract-six-zeros-currency-second-overhaul-three-years-2021-10-01/

This is where bitcoin plays a huge role to them.

If their Airport going to accept bitcoin I think they are late because there is a website already that offers flights that accept Bitcoin and other cryptos.
Unless if they are going to give less or more discounts when buying flight tickets on them.

Anyway travala.com is offering all flight destinations departing and returning and they are also offering flights from Venezuela so even they don't accept bitcoin travala is already accepting Bitcoin.

This is another good news and the rate of bitcoin adoption by public institutions is on the increase lately while we celebrate this great achievement, I will like to see the link to a website where this news is published and to get further details on this development. With the economic situation in Venezuela accepting Bitcoin in businesses and institutions will help boost and foster the pace of economic recovery and stability within that country.

I'm not surprised, because as far as I know Venezuela supports Cryptocurency. It seems like it's never too late, this is good news. I read if they not accept bitcoin only, they accep Dash, and Venezuelan Petro digital currency. Previously the Central Bank of Venezuela launched a central bank digital currency (CBDC), in addition to that in August, Turpial Airlines has accepted Bitcoin as payment for flight tickets. It's good to hear, meaning that the news of bitcoin adoption is getting more and more used. Regardless of belief I think venezuela is trying to fix their Economic problems.

I feel like we have finally broken the wall that was built on the bitcoin by a bunch of people from the early days that are saying that it is a bubble and it is not worth investing in it and it will die out soon, and that has opened up a lot of investment opportunities and projects, and i think that a lot of of those has brought some insurance for a lot of people especially since a lot of known CEOs and investors changed their mind about it and started looking at it as an asset that is brining a future.

That's great but you haven't provided a source for these news. Without a source it is not more than speculation. While you might be telling the truth, we just can't trust your word only, so next time maybe you tell us where you heard these rumors from so maybe other people try to reach the same source and can verify the information.

That is actually a bit weird coming out from Venezuela where we all know since many years the country is corrupt and actually this was the source of the world's first crypto run by a state. And where even exchanges needed license that you could only get if you were friends with the state's government.

And what a bad operation it was with not even a public working blockchain Smiley

First El Salvador and now (if true) Venezuela (this is big) are changing to world for good. Who would knew that these countries would lead the world crypto adoption while the westerner countries stay skeptical about it. Interesting times indeed. I think the west has a lot to learn from these two countries. I believe the rest of the world don't do them justice.

Slow and steady wins the race ig. There were some talks on how Venezuela views crypto favorably since their country's fiat was inflated so bad that residents needed some way to escape it, and crypto was one of the methods they could've used. It isn't exactly odd to see them adopting crypto, especially since El Salvador already took the lead in terms of adopting Bitcoin in being used. Though I would like to see instead eastern countries viewing crypto in a positive way though since we have those two to hold the fort in the western side.

I agree in principle,,, but as I said earlier, Venezuela does not have a good reputation with crypto already. They did the first state controlled crypto and it was such a bad implementation,,, not public, not even transparent and totally reflective of all the corruption the president and his cronies were known for.

Of course, if they return to BTC it is proof alts cannot really provide a good use case but let us see how this develops.

As the level of Bitcoin adoption gets bigger and better, in a short time from now Bitcoin is going to be accepted for payment for tickets and another airport terminal payment.
Simón Bolívar Airport which is an international airport in Venezuela is working on modalities to start accepting Bitcoin.
This is good news.

Venezuela is experiencing hyper inflation and they should really adopt payments in crypto to address their economical issue or solve some of the industries problem with payments of their customers.

It's not only bitcoin that they'll accept but as well as the other major crypto. I'm just surprised that Petro is still there which is also included because I thought that it's no longer existing.

From where I stand, we may see an increase in Bitcoin adoption but the real adoption will come when Bitcoin becomes easier to use. Besides, with the kind of transactions fees we pay, bitcoin becomes unfeasible to be used as a currency. That is why I think that altcoins will have a bigger and faster adoption than bitcoin in the coming years

The main potential for Bitcoin in Venezuelan people is the cashless transactions economy and this has a huge coverage...ranging from airport fees, airline tickets, bus fares, taxi charges and many, many more in the transportation and tourism sectors alone. Such a big market is now being opened for Bitcoin all because it is official recognized by the state. I am really hoping that Bitcoin can have a successful run in Venezuela especially in its first two years of implementation so other countries can also be enticed to do the same.

This is almost insignificant news, this is about Venezuela, which is under sanctions and has very limited air connections with the rest of the world - which means that the already poor citizens of this country who barely survive do not use airplanes, so I wonder who will pay airplane ticket with Bitcoin?

Well, guess I understand why the government would choose Bitcoin. It's probably not easy for travellers to use major fiat currencies in the airport otherwise the government would not consider Bitcoin.. .  I say this because I ruled out the possibility that the government is open/tolerant enough to be accepting of Bitcoin.
I think it's better than just relying on the National "cryptocurrency" called Petro.

Anyways, it’s a good development for Venezuela airport in adopting Bitcoin and increasing awareness of it.

This is news that we always expect and now many people are starting to accept bitcoin, so the greater adoption that will happen and the decision taken by the Venezuelan airport is one that must be considered by other countries because in the future bitcoin is increasingly popular among the world community, and we expect this news to indeed happen so that it will have an impact on the value of bitcoin today, It would be nice to share the news link so that we are more confident in responding to it.

But the question is that if they are using the Lightning Network or not. Because we all know that it’s completely insane to buy tickets when we are going to pay exorbitant transaction fees.

You exaggerate with some words, and you do it because you don't see all the facts the way it's right to look at them. First of all, it doesn't make sense to pay something that costs $5 with BTC, if the fee at that time is the same - and you need a quick confirmation. Secondly, we are talking about plane tickets here - and they cost a little more than $5, and can be purchased online, where payment with BTC has its advantage, you can pay a lower fee and get a confirmation of payment in a few hours.

Lastly, please look at the following graph and show me where these “exorbitant transaction fees” have been for the last few months, and who pays $10 or more if using a non-custodial wallet? For everyone else who uses crypto exchanges as their main wallet - I'm sorry, 50 000 satoshi for a fee is not something Bitcoin is to blame for.

That’s a great and best news to hear.
As a crypto and Bitcoin lover, we are finally able to see a strong positive attitude towards Bitcoins after so many time.
Due to the decentralised nature of Bitcoins, many countries were claiming Bitcoins as illegal, but now seeing this great step, i am confident that many countries will support Bitcoins now.
Really happy and delighted to hear such a good news.
Long Live Bitcoins.

Slowly but surely, that's the development of bitcoin and many unexpected events in 2021 and hopefully continuing in the following years there will be more interesting surprises about the development of bitcoin.
and this is good news and an example for other countries that Simón Bolívar international airport aka Maiquetía airport in Venezuela accepts bitcoin payments and this action is to save a currency that is thought to have been beaten by hyperinflation for years, and I think the good news about bitcoin will be sustainable and make them aware that bitcoin has far-reaching benefits.

All was good till I arrived at this part:

Quote
According to Maiquetia airport director Freddy Borges, the airport plans to accept many cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Dash and Venezuela’s oil-pegged digital currency, the Petro. He said that the airport’s administration would introduce new payment options in coordination with Venezuela’s National Superintendence of Crypto Assets and Related Activities.

So, it must be a joke or somebody came drunk at the job, what to accept, a dead coin with both the official site and block explorer dead and no working wallet?

As hyperinflation and USA sanctions disrupt Venezuela economy, cryptocurrency is emerging as a way to provide services handled elsewhere by the traditional banking system. It has become a tool to send remittances, protect wages from inflation and help businesses manage cash flow. Good news really.

And if is magically helping protecting wages paid in bolivars from inflation and businesses, why do they still have inflation?
Venezuela could even adopt bitcoin as a legal tender, you will still see inflation as you need more goods than you can produce, the prices will still go up, Bitcoin is not able to singlehandedly compensate for the stupidity of the ones in charge, Madurao and his pack of imbeciles would bankrupt country with whatever standard gold, silver, bitcoin or oil.
If only fixing an economy would be that simple!

Try as I may, I haven’t been able to locate further details in the local media. The available news are announcing the event, but not providing insights as to how it will be rolled-out, when, and under what set of rules (i.e. if a person cancels a ticket paid in crypto, and the type ticket obviously allows cancelations). The airport confirmed the news some days ago (https://twitter.com/IAIM_VE/status/1446186555769606147), but nothing further is mentioned so far. Waiting for the details …

As the level of Bitcoin adoption gets bigger and better, in a short time from now Bitcoin is going to be accepted for payment for tickets and another airport terminal payment.
Simón Bolívar Airport which is an international airport in Venezuela is working on modalities to start accepting Bitcoin.

This is great news for bitcoin fans around the world, but you are not showing any websites I can search for this news. at this time we all know that fraud often occurs and this is what makes people live in fraud and will harm people who do not have deeper knowledge.
Hopefully this news does happen and hopefully it can be a guideline for all airports so that bitcoin holders can use their bitcoins as a means of paying for airline tickets.

This is almost insignificant news, this is about Venezuela, which is under sanctions and has very limited air connections with the rest of the world - which means that the already poor citizens of this country who barely survive do not use airplanes, so I wonder who will pay airplane ticket with Bitcoin?

Source

We can discard the news out rightly simply because the country has an economic crisis, even the highly developed countries also suffer an economic crisis and inflation. But despite that, some citizens still use the airport for travel and business, which makes it important for Bitcoin to be adopted since it can help as an edge over inflation.

Congratulations, Venezuelans; this is only the beginning for the rest of the world.I already said in some of my posts that bitcoin is going to be adopted by more countries day by day. I mentioned this type of reason for that. First people become tech-friendly. They want to make their life easier and all things happen all because of technology. People are now genuinely interested in new technologies. In that case, bitcoin is old, more secure, user-friendly, and the most advanced technology in the world to be used as a payment system. But now it has also become an investment asset. Now people trust people more than the stock market. And now the government can't unban it for a long time because of social media, and the most influential people are talking about crypto. That is why general people know about it. And when a country's people are asking their government about it, then the government can't ignore it for long. They have to answer. And in most cases, yes has to be the answer. And what is happening right now? More countries are coming.

Sure Venezuela did some shady shit in the past but let's give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they will correct their mistakes and maybe they become even a bigger bitcoin supporter than El Salvador. Maduro will make this right imo. He has all that oil which he cannot export and bitcoin might be the key to the freedom. Imagine trading oil for bitcoins. That would fuck usd right in the azz.

This is very simple, the Maiquetía International Airport is in complete control of the Venezuelan government and obviously they will say yes to cryptocurrencies, for them better, because it is the only way they have to bypass all the prohibitions that the USA and some have implemented. European countries, however this is only a benefit for the government, the people, its people do not receive any type of benefit, the government continues to pay in Bs, which is something like "nothing" even though the economy is fully dollarized .

However, looking at it from an optimistic point of view, BTC has more adoption and that is not bad.

Actually I feel this news is also very normal in a hyperinflationary country and the increasing acceptance of btc in their country is also an inevitable part. I am sure that in the future, they will implement more things to bring btc into real life more.

Bitcoin is on its way to becoming an integral part of most countries’ economies, and Venezuela is going to take advantage of the many financial advantages of Bitcoin as is the only escape route from the present economic hardship experience in that countries. And I also believe that the government will work out modalities and policies to adopt Bitcoin in the future as a legal currency.

That can boost the popularity of bitcoin in that country as travelers who come to that country will know about that when they arrive in that country. Somehow, that can be a good promotion to bitcoin to many people at that airport because, after this pandemic, the number of people who use bitcoin will increase drastically. We should not miss this to invest in bitcoin and no matter how little our money is, we should use bitcoin as our investment for the long term.

I’ve tried to get hold of a footage of the original press conference where this was announced, but came back empty handed. I’ve seen a couple of articles referencing a specific phrase, which does not seem to have been commented on much. Specifically (translated by me):

Quote
<…> He mentioned that they will work alongside the Superintendencia Nacional de Criptomonedas y Actividades Conexas (Sunacrip), in order to adapt to the european model, where various aerodromes allow payments through Bitcoin, Dash and other digital coins.

They reference studying some European aerodromes (they are not using the term airportshere). I Wonder which they have in mind …

What can we expect here as Venezuelan Government is now depending In crypto to survive their dying economy and desperately needed this badly.
anyway i don't think this will bring any good effect in this market now, but lets see if there will ever be another change in our funding inside the crypto market.

Compared to the rest of the world, Venezuela is in a far more difficult situation than some kind of crisis caused by a pandemic. The sanctions under which both the extremely corrupt and incompetent government find themselves have pushed the country to the very bottom of world economies. The data show that this airport is practically focused only on flights with neighboring countries (with a few exceptions), and that Bitcoin as a payment option does not mean that the residents of that country will actually use it.

Most of them live in extreme poverty, and the minimum monthly wage is less than $10.

Agree my friend,,, I think one of the bad things about my experience short as it may be in crypto is that I have become much too skeptical for my own liking. Everything is viewed with suspicion and with pessimism.

But you are right. Venezuela has been in deeper trouble than El Salvador, maybe even now he learns his own mistakes with random alt blockchain and realizes he can bypass sanctions with BTC. That would definitely eff up USD.

Crypto adoption is on the rise and many countries are considering adopting and regulations which is one of the set back of government and decentralized currency adoption because they can't control it neither can they regulate but some countries are already adopting Bitcoin as a legal tender.

That's good news, especially in Venezuela, We know Venezuela is a country that is very concerned about the economy, because Bitcoin is so well received there, they were able to recover from the economic woes slowly but surely.

I believe that one day Venezuela can become a super country in every way, especially in Bitcoin adoption, what's more with the existence of a regulatory system at the airport Bitcoin users can pay directly with Bitcoin, an convenience for the Venezuelan people.

I read more here:Bitcoin Daily: Venezuela's Simon Bolivar Int'l Airport to Accept Crypto for Flights; BitPay, Wix to Team on Crypto Payments about the news.

Other good news from Bitcoin.
But actually I am not too excited with this because the longer and the growing age, this will exist and maybe in the coming months there will be other airports that follow.
But this will certainly be a dilemma for local banks because we know that so far the airport is always affiliated with local banks and with the arrival of this automatic bitcoin will be disrupted.

I hope you drop a link that we can review, because speculation alone is not enough. Because I want to read the whole news.
I just made a search and found it. Visit the link below to read the news on Cointelegraph.
Venezuelan international airport to accept Bitcoin payments: Report

To OP:
As mentioned by Fesatmas, it would better to share the link when posting such contents, so readers can have more information about what you are talking about.

On the other hand, this is indeed a positive news, but on the other hand, the negative side is that the Venezuelan government is avoiding economic problems that they should solve first rather than start over. Even though Bitcoin is a solution, if it is based on linking the airport alone it will not completely fix the problem of the severity of the economy which continues to soar badly from year to year.

Then from a macroeconomic perspective, most Venezuelans prioritize leaving their country and looking for work abroad. For example in my place there is a group of Venezuelan immigrants who have lived here for almost 2 years without any reason to return to their country. The problem that makes them not want to return is the level of income which is much less which cannot cover their needs there.

So the Venezuelan government must not walk away from its responsibility to solve the problems they have started.

The acceptance and introduction of payments using digital cryptocurrencies is an advancement that signifies the commitment of airlines to move towards international standards and encourage the adoption of digital currencies, to be better with more payment options. The crypto payment option will benefit tourists including tourists from Russia.

With the start of crypto adoption on Venezuelan airlines, it will certainly affect airlines in other countries. this is good news for bitcoin to be more and more known.

I see that a new race is slowly beginning - who will be the first to introduce the possibility of bitcoin turnover. The most interesting thing is who is on the leaderboard now.

Some leaders are already turning over to Bitcoin and have positioned their country in such a way that they will benefit from the many possibilities that come with Bitcoin, a good example of such leaders is the president of Venezuela who is currently storing the nation's Treasury in Bitcoin.

Just one quick search already revealed that this information has made headlines. Indeed, Venezuela's airport announced its preparations fro accepting BTC, link here.

Though at this current moment there is no mention about the economic instability in the whole of the country, just that it is looking at it but still given the economic struggle I'd imagine this would take years to implement if it really was to go ahead  Huh

Speaking of Venezuela... Whatever happened to their other digital token launch? They said they'd launch a petro-token giving people ownership of the oil, freeing up capital for the regime.
Now this..Forgive me, but I don't believe anything coming out of that regime's mouth.  Cool

That's what I also think, that it's too early for Venezuela to be able to stabilize its economy. They take a long time and indeed this is a sustainable stage or Venezuela will just miss and have no economic direction going forward. They have many tasks that must be completed, especially the government which if possible should be overhauled and put forward the goal of improving infrastructure development as a whole.

As the level of Bitcoin adoption gets bigger and better, in a short time from now Bitcoin is going to be accepted for payment for tickets and another airport terminal payment.
Simón Bolívar Airport which is an international airport in Venezuela is working on modalities to start accepting Bitcoin.

Venezuela is struggling with hyperinflation. The value of Bolivar is at all time low. The president of Venezuela tried to fix this issue by launching a petrol backed cryptocurrency called petro which didn't work out. So what Venezuelan airport is doing, is for survival and nothing else. They need something valuable in order to keep the business ongoing. So bitcoin is a wise choice for them as a survival plan if executed well.

So this is not granular level adoption, rather just good business sense!

It is because of the quest to finding a lasting solution to the economic problem facing the country that is why the government of Venezuela has decided to adopt Bitcoin to help strengthen the economy and also serve as a means for job creation for its growing population.

Where is the source of that news? I personally haven't read anywhere that something like this happened in that country, and you should think a little about what you're writing - because you're posting inaccurate information.

Here's some good news for you -> Venezuela replaces national currency with bitcoin

Let's see how many experts will be hooked on this April joke.

Venezuela does have a National Criptocurrency Treasury (see https://www.tcv.com.ve/), but it is more related to finding ways that the government of Venezuela can use to bypass sanctions through crypto. Due to this, likely Venezuela does hold some bitcoins, although I have not been able to find any information that details any of these BTC holding, if they indeed do exist.

I wouldn’t precisely expect too much transparency here though, nor would I expect the holdings to be significant. I’d even hypothesize with their being more shifted over to personal pockets than in control of any national treasury over there.

That's good news, especially in Venezuela, We know Venezuela is a country that is very concerned about the economy, because Bitcoin is so well received there, they were able to recover from the economic woes slowly but surely.

When the ...did that happen?
Venezuela introduces new currency, drops six zeros

Extreme poverty in Venezuela rises to 76.6% - study

Quote
Around three-fourths of Venezuelans now live in extreme poverty as the once-prosperous OPEC nation's hyperinflationary economic collapse continued for a seventh straight year, according to a study published on Wednesday. Espana said that beyond the loss of purchasing power, the lack of employment has led to boredom, adding that Venezuela's public sector pays poorly, as the country's minimum wage hovers around $3 a month, and the country's private sector is small.

Let me translate this into BTC numbers.
It takes 20 000 Venezuealean minimum wages to buy a Bitcoin. It takes 150 Bulgarian minimum wage to buy a BTC. It only takes 30 French minimum wages to buy a BTC. Now how many poeple in Venezuela do you think afford to invest something?

I believe that one day Venezuela can become a super country in every way,

Right after the Vatican becomes a nuclear power, Nauru builds its first space destroyer, Andorra conquers Finland and Elvis Presley is found alive.

This is good news because bitcoin can be used for transactions directly without having to exchange to fiat, it has been proven that blockchain and bitcoin transactions are more effective so they are feasible to use directly like at the airport.

Venezuela is a country that is affected by a high inflation rate, in short, this country is struggling economically and therefore it's great news that they will allow more adoption of bitcoin and crypto in their country. Every time we hear some good news about a certain country starting to use bitcoin, we are optimistic that it would result in a better future, not only for the country but for crypto as a whole.

Venezuela never disappoints when it comes to making the right crypto news. Now they have the aviation industry accepting crypto (bitcoin) which brings it closer to other countries as they are likely chances of where the planes go to or come from will have a bitcoin merchant that will be a place of exchange which means air bitcoin is going places. Am just hoping that the crypto is being used for legal stuff and not being used to paint a bad image of it.

The government is fully aware of the benefit of cryptocurrency and the President as a young and innovative leader is constantly giving support to promote Bitcoin adoption within Venezuela and its environs.

This is a welcome development to Venezuela Airport by accepting bitcoin as a payment in the societies. Many bitcoin users will like to travel with the airport base on this new development their government has put in place in the country to make their citizens movement easy to move their goods from one place to another.
Many investors will now prefer to make use of this airport than other airport that is not accepting bitcoin payment. It will really help investors who are into export and import in the country to move their goods early.

This is actually an advantage to that specific airport, I don't know how the government of Venezuela will take action from this, they are probably aware that the airport can actually gain profit if they start to accept Bitcoin as a method of payment, it's either the payment of the passengers gets converted instantly into fiat or they can just simply keep it and extend the profits of the stakeholders of the airport.

Still, good innovation and will provide more convenience to the passengers.

Simón Bolívar Airport to accept cryptocurrencies as payments for tickets
I don't know how much reliable that link is. I too was wondering how can bitcoin benefit airport authorities at a time when its price is fully volatile. Yesterday btc was 56k and today its 60k, don't know what it will be tomorrow. To be accepted as mainstream payment system we need price stability and that's something missing badly in BTC right now.

Indeed, since when has the price of Bitcoin been like the stability of the dollar value. Obviously it is highly volatile and with a relatively fast rate of volatility. But if it only refers to the price of Bitcoin then any authority will not accept it as payment. Therefore, Bitcoin is used as a legal means of payment in view of the value of the signature and the increasing price level.
The time span also needs to be considered, the airport may accept Bitcoin payments only for long-term holdings.

I keep asking myself:

who has bitcoin and will take it to the airport in venezuela instead of holding and earning 2X profit? not to mention that you would pay a high fee when using bitcoin as a means of payment, how many people will do this?

should do a monthly stat to find out how many people used bitcoin at the airport in venezuela

I hope you drop a link that we can review, because speculation alone is not enough. Because I want to read the whole news.
I just made a search and found it. Visit the link below to read the news on Cointelegraph.
Venezuelan international airport to accept Bitcoin payments: Report

To OP:
As mentioned by Fesatmas, it would better to share the link when posting such contents, so readers can have more information about what you are talking about.
this is great. little by little, the world started accepting bitcoins. after El Salvador, this time Venezuela. although still limited to the airport, but it is a very good step. started from the airport, then entered the domestic private sector, and developed there. I hope other countries will accept bitcoin too. little by little, bitcoins spread. I can't wait for more good news. looks like, by the end of this year there will be a lot of good news that will appear

Well given that their local currency isn't really of value, it makes sense that some major industries take up on bitcoin payments more seriously than ever. It would be interesting to see how they'd deal with bitcoin's volatility, since that area remains unchecked and one that keeps most industries from accepting bitcoin payments on their platforms.

Also with the recent price movement of bitcoin, I doubt people who has it would be willing to pay in bitcoins anyway, but at least that option is already available in Venezuela when you need to take a plane ride somewhere.

As the level of Bitcoin adoption gets bigger and better, in a short time from now Bitcoin is going to be accepted for payment for tickets and another airport terminal payment.
Simón Bolívar Airport which is an international airport in Venezuela is working on modalities to start accepting Bitcoin.
every day we see more and more adopting bitcoin, a good first step that Venezuela took to introduce bitcoin to all its citizens by starting at the airport. hopefully next year Venezuela will soon make bitcoin as a legal tender there.

You should link your source as this will help others to know more about it. Anyway, this was expected. Not surprised a bit. Based on how messed up their current economy and their currency is, bitcoin is actually their best option right now. The sanctions are also making it hard for Venezuelans, and bitcoin being borderless and decentralized makes it easier for them to make cross border transactions. Didn't their own government make a new crypto called Petro which is backed by oil? As far as I know most people think that the coin is all sham and actually backed my nothing.

I think bitcoin is used to protect themselves from the effects of inflation which actually they are starting to not care about the state of the economy in that country. Considering that instead of having to maintain their income with local money payment methods which are continuously depreciating, they will not survive.

Also, this reason makes more sense.
“We must advance in these new economic and technological systems to be accessible,” Borges reportedly stated.
Localbitcoins statistics show that the Venezuelan public's interest in cryptocurrencies has increased drastically since 2020.

source: https://news.bitcoin.com/venezuela-numbers-cryptocurrency-adoption-factors/

No matter how bad the inflation rate, the company does not want to lose customers and will follow the mainstream, especially aligning customer interest with the new payment system.

Bitcoin has been accepted by quite a lot of institutions and organizations in the past one year, it is definitely more than a step forward towards mainstream adoption, but governments are yet to consider Bitcoin, and I presume it's because of how impossible it is for them to control it just like they do with their fiat and will do with their CBDC, thus Venezuela making Bitcoin a legal tender isn't something to expect, it could happen, but it's highly unlikely to; I know El Salvador did make Bitcoin a legal tender, but it's improbable that other countries will join El Salvador on that path just yet.

since the crisis experienced by venezuela first, they then imposed bitcoin. with this news means that venezuela is also legalizing bitcoin as a means of payment, and it means the country is starting to think about the economy going forward. we are waiting for this to be done by developed countries, so that it has a big effect

Venezuela has the highest inflation rate in the world and US sanctions have lasted for years. The Venezuelan economy is really dying, bitcoin is their best option at the moment. As well as how Venezuelans choose bitcoin as a way of making money to survive when their bolívar depreciates. I don't remember exactly where I read on this forum, there have been a lot of Venezuelan users on the forum confirming that since using bitcoin their life is better than ever.

Not many of them will use bitcoin because I think they will think that if they hold bitcoin in their wallet, they can make a big profit when the price increases. Maybe it needs to explore more coins to search what coins will be used to pay in the airport or other places to hold their bitcoin and only sell when the price increases. People will do that if they realize how worth bitcoin will be in the future and they will not spend their bitcoin for buying something or paying something.

As the level of Bitcoin adoption gets bigger and better, in a short time from now Bitcoin is going to be accepted for payment for tickets and another airport terminal payment.
Simón Bolívar Airport which is an international airport in Venezuela is working on modalities to start accepting Bitcoin.
This will be a great a challenge to countries that are not yet accepted Bitcoin. They will be surprised that no matter there pressure, bitcoin is still be accepted continuously wearing there thought. I know the Chinese government will be disappointed with this and making there plans to be out of consensuship. Let's ride it to the moon as bitcoin is planning to get to $70k.

i think this is a good step, which was taken by venezuele, although this news is not one hundred percent accurate, but i believe venezuela is doing a good step, i think venezuela has accepted bitcoin in their country, it is a good achievement, they really want to recovering their economy with bitcoin, although this requires a hard struggle and challenge, but I think their efforts will definitely pay off well..
I won't see it as a challenge to those countries for as there can still key into the economic advantage of using Bitcoin, Venezuela has always been on the front row when it comes to cryptocurrency adoption, and seeing an airport accepting Bitcoin in Venezuela is amazing and go a long way to show how Bitcoin adoption has grown in that region.

People in Venezuela are looking for another ways to trade with each other that don't include their national currency, bolívar, that is one of the most devalued of the world, together with boliviano currency from Bolivia and real currency from Brazil. I believe what we see now in Venezuela is just the beginning, soon the entire latin america with rare exceptions will be using bitcoin for daily transactions, so people can preserve the value of their money.

(Last year, announcements of fast food chains like Burguer King accepting bitcoin as payment method in Venezuela were spread across the internet, so as we can see the idea of the airport adopting the crypto currency must have came from somewhere...)

This is good news for bitcoin users, more and more bitcoin adoption and can be used for direct transactions, I hope more international airports accept bitcoin so that transactions are easier so foreigners don't have to go to money changers.

This is a good promotional step for Venezuela, the increasing number of active bitcoin users makes anyone want to transact directly, and I'm sure this step will be followed by many other airports so that bitcoin users are more comfortable.

And travala doesn't have most of the (few) airlines that still operate here. Heck, most of the traditional major online "cheap ticket" web pages don't cover them either which is why for foreigners it looks like some sort of black hole. Its not, but the trick is you have to go to the airline homepage directly and skip those 3rd parties.

For example search Caracas <-> Port of Spain in those online services, very likely you will find either nothing or some horribly expensive with like 3 or more connections. In reality there are at least 3 airlines doing direct (1hr) flights, including the T&T flag airline Caribbean. I don't know how it is for other parts of the world, but those services "cheap flight tickets" websites are useless here.

A bunch of those airlines are State owned, such as those from Cuba, Iran and Turkey, add in Venezuela and its all fun with US sanctions, which could be a reason those online web services can't even touch them. Technically the EU also joined the sanctions so there is that.

Example travala says you need 1500 USD for the aforementioned example. In reality, you can do it with 100 USD to 400 USD. Same thing Caracas <-> Asunción, travala says 2500 USD but go straight to the same airline web page, and in reality its just 600 USD.

To pay directly to each airline you do it either at their own webpage, or at the airport. Is the gov doing pay processing? I don't know. I may try it soon, but its usually easier to simply exchange into fiat and do a bank wire transfer, at least for locals. But i can see this as a good alternative for foreigners who didn't bring enough cash for whatever reason (its too dangerous anyway, less cash is better).

Venezuela needed that, I mean, their country is struggling, so they should allow investments and people to use more options in the transaction as no one would carry a huge volume of cash with a small value of Venezuelan bolívar when they like to travel, this would contribute to the adoption of crypto worldwide, so let's hope that the government of Venezuela will try to follow El Salvador who is very crypto-friendly and even legalized the use of bitcoin as a legal tender.

Bitcoin adoptions are now starting to occur in lots of areas in the world and it's beneficial to Bitcoin as well as the users. Venezuela is one of the countries that needed Bitcoin the most and being accepted by huge businesses will surely affect the country's economy positively.

more and more people recognize bitcoin, of course, it has a very positive impact that will be obtained from bitcoin itself and for other altcoins.
I agree that the adoption of bitcoin that will be carried out by many countries in every transaction will clearly have a positive impact that will be accepted by that country, but they also must not be careless and rules must be made so that no abuse occurs with bitcoin because of the nature of bitcoin itself which cannot someone controls.

Here is one more proof that BTC continues and will continue its development and implementation in all spheres of man. Yes, this is probably not happening as fast as many of us want, but we have to admit that this is happening and we can see it with our own eyes. However, for a greater implementation of BTC, a lot of work still needs to be done, which means that each of us still has time to become holders of BTC right now, the main thing is not to miss this opportunity, so as not to blame ourselves for a missed opportunity later.
