Venezuela never disappoints when it comes to making the right crypto news. Now they have the aviation industry accepting crypto (bitcoin) which brings it closer to other countries as they are likely chances of where the planes go to or come from will have a bitcoin merchant that will be a place of exchange which means air bitcoin is going places. Am just hoping that the crypto is being used for legal stuff and not being used to paint a bad image of it.
The government is fully aware of the benefit of cryptocurrency and the President as a young and innovative leader is constantly giving support to promote Bitcoin adoption within Venezuela and its environs.

This is a welcome development to Venezuela Airport by accepting bitcoin as a payment in the societies. Many bitcoin users will like to travel with the airport base on this new development their government has put in place in the country to make their citizens movement easy to move their goods from one place to another.
Many investors will now prefer to make use of this airport than other airport that is not accepting bitcoin payment. It will really help investors who are into export and import in the country to move their goods early.

This is actually an advantage to that specific airport, I don't know how the government of Venezuela will take action from this, they are probably aware that the airport can actually gain profit if they start to accept Bitcoin as a method of payment, it's either the payment of the passengers gets converted instantly into fiat or they can just simply keep it and extend the profits of the stakeholders of the airport.

Still, good innovation and will provide more convenience to the passengers.

I hope you drop a link that we can review, because speculation alone is not enough. Because I want to read the whole news. Somehow they accept Bitcoin, while the economic development is getting worse, so would it really work if one of the airports accepted Bitcoin payments. Because after all, so far the airport is affiliated with local banks to carry out the cash disbursement process.

Simón Bolívar Airport to accept cryptocurrencies as payments for tickets
I don't know how much reliable that link is. I too was wondering how can bitcoin benefit airport authorities at a time when its price is fully volatile. Yesterday btc was 56k and today its 60k, don't know what it will be tomorrow. To be accepted as mainstream payment system we need price stability and that's something missing badly in BTC right now.

Indeed, since when has the price of Bitcoin been like the stability of the dollar value. Obviously it is highly volatile and with a relatively fast rate of volatility. But if it only refers to the price of Bitcoin then any authority will not accept it as payment. Therefore, Bitcoin is used as a legal means of payment in view of the value of the signature and the increasing price level.
The time span also needs to be considered, the airport may accept Bitcoin payments only for long-term holdings.

Venezuelan international airport to accept Bitcoin payments: Report

To OP:
As mentioned by Fesatmas, it would better to share the link when posting such contents, so readers can have more information about what you are talking about.
this is great. little by little, the world started accepting bitcoins. after El Salvador, this time Venezuela. although still limited to the airport, but it is a very good step. started from the airport, then entered the domestic private sector, and developed there. I hope other countries will accept bitcoin too. little by little, bitcoins spread. I can't wait for more good news. looks like, by the end of this year there will be a lot of good news that will appear

Well given that their local currency isn't really of value, it makes sense that some major industries take up on bitcoin payments more seriously than ever. It would be interesting to see how they'd deal with bitcoin's volatility, since that area remains unchecked and one that keeps most industries from accepting bitcoin payments on their platforms.

Also with the recent price movement of bitcoin, I doubt people who has it would be willing to pay in bitcoins anyway, but at least that option is already available in Venezuela when you need to take a plane ride somewhere.

As the level of Bitcoin adoption gets bigger and better, in a short time from now Bitcoin is going to be accepted for payment for tickets and another airport terminal payment.
Simón Bolívar Airport which is an international airport in Venezuela is working on modalities to start accepting Bitcoin.
every day we see more and more adopting bitcoin, a good first step that Venezuela took to introduce bitcoin to all its citizens by starting at the airport. hopefully next year Venezuela will soon make bitcoin as a legal tender there.

You should link your source as this will help others to know more about it. Anyway, this was expected. Not surprised a bit. Based on how messed up their current economy and their currency is, bitcoin is actually their best option right now. The sanctions are also making it hard for Venezuelans, and bitcoin being borderless and decentralized makes it easier for them to make cross border transactions. Didn't their own government make a new crypto called Petro which is backed by oil? As far as I know most people think that the coin is all sham and actually backed my nothing.

I think bitcoin is used to protect themselves from the effects of inflation which actually they are starting to not care about the state of the economy in that country. Considering that instead of having to maintain their income with local money payment methods which are continuously depreciating, they will not survive.

Also, this reason makes more sense.
“We must advance in these new economic and technological systems to be accessible,” Borges reportedly stated.
Localbitcoins statistics show that the Venezuelan public's interest in cryptocurrencies has increased drastically since 2020.

source: https://news.bitcoin.com/venezuela-numbers-cryptocurrency-adoption-factors/

No matter how bad the inflation rate, the company does not want to lose customers and will follow the mainstream, especially aligning customer interest with the new payment system.

Bitcoin has been accepted by quite a lot of institutions and organizations in the past one year, it is definitely more than a step forward towards mainstream adoption, but governments are yet to consider Bitcoin, and I presume it's because of how impossible it is for them to control it just like they do with their fiat and will do with their CBDC, thus Venezuela making Bitcoin a legal tender isn't something to expect, it could happen, but it's highly unlikely to; I know El Salvador did make Bitcoin a legal tender, but it's improbable that other countries will join El Salvador on that path just yet.

since the crisis experienced by venezuela first, they then imposed bitcoin. with this news means that venezuela is also legalizing bitcoin as a means of payment, and it means the country is starting to think about the economy going forward. we are waiting for this to be done by developed countries, so that it has a big effect

Venezuela has the highest inflation rate in the world and US sanctions have lasted for years. The Venezuelan economy is really dying, bitcoin is their best option at the moment. As well as how Venezuelans choose bitcoin as a way of making money to survive when their bolívar depreciates. I don't remember exactly where I read on this forum, there have been a lot of Venezuelan users on the forum confirming that since using bitcoin their life is better than ever.

Not many of them will use bitcoin because I think they will think that if they hold bitcoin in their wallet, they can make a big profit when the price increases. Maybe it needs to explore more coins to search what coins will be used to pay in the airport or other places to hold their bitcoin and only sell when the price increases. People will do that if they realize how worth bitcoin will be in the future and they will not spend their bitcoin for buying something or paying something.

As the level of Bitcoin adoption gets bigger and better, in a short time from now Bitcoin is going to be accepted for payment for tickets and another airport terminal payment.
Simón Bolívar Airport which is an international airport in Venezuela is working on modalities to start accepting Bitcoin.
This will be a great a challenge to countries that are not yet accepted Bitcoin. They will be surprised that no matter there pressure, bitcoin is still be accepted continuously wearing there thought. I know the Chinese government will be disappointed with this and making there plans to be out of consensuship. Let's ride it to the moon as bitcoin is planning to get to $70k.

i think this is a good step, which was taken by venezuele, although this news is not one hundred percent accurate, but i believe venezuela is doing a good step, i think venezuela has accepted bitcoin in their country, it is a good achievement, they really want to recovering their economy with bitcoin, although this requires a hard struggle and challenge, but I think their efforts will definitely pay off well..
I won't see it as a challenge to those countries for as there can still key into the economic advantage of using Bitcoin, Venezuela has always been on the front row when it comes to cryptocurrency adoption, and seeing an airport accepting Bitcoin in Venezuela is amazing and go a long way to show how Bitcoin adoption has grown in that region.

People in Venezuela are looking for another ways to trade with each other that don't include their national currency, bolívar, that is one of the most devalued of the world, together with boliviano currency from Bolivia and real currency from Brazil. I believe what we see now in Venezuela is just the beginning, soon the entire latin america with rare exceptions will be using bitcoin for daily transactions, so people can preserve the value of their money.

(Last year, announcements of fast food chains like Burguer King accepting bitcoin as payment method in Venezuela were spread across the internet, so as we can see the idea of the airport adopting the crypto currency must have came from somewhere...)

This is good news for bitcoin users, more and more bitcoin adoption and can be used for direct transactions, I hope more international airports accept bitcoin so that transactions are easier so foreigners don't have to go to money changers.

This is a good promotional step for Venezuela, the increasing number of active bitcoin users makes anyone want to transact directly, and I'm sure this step will be followed by many other airports so that bitcoin users are more comfortable.
