Mayer Amschel Rothschild understands so well that money is power.  But can BTC be a Reserve currency? 

Most probably CBDC will also be preferred by the governments of the country which will work just like fiat. If these CBDC will only run on blockchain it might just make the country's finance to be transparent. This is something to be decided by them, I doubt the government will make it public for anyone to see transactions in real-time.

It not about inflation and deflation. The point is why governments will allow a financial system which it cannot control? The crypto enthusiastic people keep on saying that crypto is superior to fiat because of features like decentralization, controlled inflation etc. But do we understand are these features going in favor of govt? certainly not. Crypto has its own existence and identity, stop comparing it with Fiat.

It's 2021— it's probably a great time to finally realize that not every single cryptocurrency today is trying to be money or a currency. Most of cryptocurrencies now are sort of like pseudo-equities; And the ones that are actually trying to beat bitcoin in the currency/SoV category will simply fail.

Realistically I think bitcoin will act as the primary asset that's used as a hedge against inflation replacing most other assets like gold, and would act as a currency competitor for most larger currencies forcing countries to pay closer attention to their fiscal policy. Some smaller and more unstable countries I'd imagine would make the switch to bitcoin more quickly than the China or US, but it won't be in the near future that USD/CNY collapse to the point of complete obsoletion. So global currency in the near future, probably not. Perhaps at some point? Maybe.

as long as adoption goes in a positive direction, it can happen. and the rate of crypto adoption every year continues to increase, this could be the reason for crypto being used as a global payment. as adoption increases, crypto will be used in every country. so it is very likely that crypto will be used as a global payment in the future. but what kind of crypto will be used is still a mystery. stablecoins, privacy coins, or crypto coins like bitcoin, all are still sketchy depending on which countries will adopt them.

I believe that cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies will be wide-used in the future. In terms of the global currency, I would rather say that this place will take Ethereum as it is developing now as opposed to stuck Bitcoin. Bitcoin was the first currency, but it hasn't changes very significantly from 2008 and it has many drawbacks, so I think that it will be replaced by Ethereum.

Too general. Thousands of cryptocurrency and you can not say they all will become global currency. Only a several of them will survive and be used as settlement or payment methods. Global currency I don't expect any of them will become a global currency.

We will see digital currencies, Digital Dollar, Euro etc. these will be issued by
various countries who will have control of the supply, just like FIAT today. Bitcoin
does not offer any government the possibility to "print More" as they see fit,

If you ask me overall cryptocurrency, then I'll say no. Overall cryptocurrency can't be a global currency. If you ask me about Bitcoin then yes, I can say Bitcoin would be and have the ability to be a global cryptocurrency. Because, to be honest, most of the altcoins do not have actual value. it is just for trading seems to me. There are no actual uses of altcoins and do not accept most of the spendable platforms. But if you compare Bitcoin, then it is the potential to become a global currency. We have been seeing a few countries accept Bitcoin as a legal tender, that is the way how Bitcoin would become a Global currency once a time. To me it is just a matter of time, let's see what is going on.

Can't be certain whether it will actually become a world currency and be adopted by all countries as a means of payment to replace fiat. I think that as long as the government still has an obligation to take advantage and can provide a percentage for state treasury income, maybe it is possible. If all countries are bored and realize Inflation destroys everything. Cryptocurrencies are currently still unable to demonstrate that in the future it will actually be used globally. There is no support to reinforce something that hasn't happened yet.

Sort of, but i see it more as store of value, pointless to use for daily purchasing. There's a good reason why fiat currencies are inflationary, they wouldn't work with hard limited total supply. At least not with current capitalist system, it would just be impractical.

Bitcoin already is a global currency. It's just not the main currency, nor is it adopted everywhere yet. The idea that Bitcoin will win against other fiat currencies is imo just wet dreams of Bitcoiners, at least for now. There are just so few governments that would allow this to happen. Just think of how much control they'd lose over you. No powerful government wants that.

On the other hand, we do have hope that cryptocurrencies, especially in this case, Bitcoin can become a currency that will in the future become a global currency. One of them is the government, can the government in each country accept it? without taxes, without any control over the ownership of each and without any profit? and if so, how about the system of the US, China and countries that are spearheading global finance? will they admit it?

Remember that there are too many currencies that can transact online and it could be cryptocurrency is one of the best alternatives to them. If we are talking about BTC,  yes it could be but if we are talking it generally like cryptocurrencies including altcoin, theoretically, I must BE said no, just only for BTC.
However, if you don't mind BTC was now considered a global currency, it is widely used now in most different countries and I think we almost happen that BTC can be used worldwide in a different transaction online, but not as the main payment method.

About being a global currency, it is already being used as one so we don't have to wait for the future for us to see it happen.

You can use it already for purchasing things with several methods as long as the merchants are good with it or there's a way to convert it as you purchase direct to them.
