Lucky punch.

At the end of the day, Woodley still made a lot of money in this fight.
Yeah, that's what it is. With a few searches, I've read that he has likely earned $2M on this match. Whether he'd win or not, that's still a large amount of money he'd made just for this match. Thus, he can still go for any match in the future after his recovery and when he's ready again to go for another one.

He won't go far facing real pro boxers tbh. Even gold medalists who trained since kid often didn't go well in pro fighting, let alone for someone who started too late.
Jake's strategy works well so far with him fighting tough guys but not real pro boxers, so I think it would be best for him to keep doing what his best, to entertain people with this kind of match Grin Jake isn't that strong, but he is intelligent. He picks fights with people that he thinks he can beat.
Most boxers pick someone they think they can beat, same as in UFC usually. In boxing you notice it more, because it seems that your record means a lot more, and a lot of boxers have a zero on their record, while in MMA that's rare. So, he isn't really doing anything different to professional boxers, except he's particularly good at flirting with the line of impressive while remaining some what safe. Woodley is a good puncher, and at times a good fighter. However, he freezes a lot, and that was in his prime. You can see the effect of lack of training, and age has had on him, despite still possessing decent enough ability.

Since Jake is getting a little deeper into the sport, he better be man enough to face the real fighters in boxing.

I think that's the trend now, being insured of who they face in-order to gain a sure win, like we're watching a circus with an odds. Lol  Grin
Yeah, I also see that in Jake Paul, he's quite kind of a wise guy who only faces and accepts sure win fights and only talks below the belt if he can defeat he speaks about. And unlike his older brother, Logan Paul, is somehow the opposite with only money and fame in his mind and no sense of intelligence at all.
Jake should maintain he's status for now and fights some debut fighters who wish to carve their name in the boxing industry, he isn't going to be as succesful as other professional boxers, it's sad but it's his reality.

I know all these fights are kind of just a joke and an insult to professional boxers but that night night punch was brutal from Paul.  I don't watch any of these fights as they are just sloppy and boring to watch honestly.  I had to watch that replay and man that was a solid hit.  With that being said this won't help these fights end.

Such a fall from grace...  Even Woodley’s mom is having a laugh at his loss while celebrating Jake Paul’s win.  Hilarious.  I mean he was the UFC’s champion at 170 who beat Robby Lawler, Darren Till, Stephen Thompson and Demian Maia.  All big names during their day.  Now he’s reduced himself to be a youtuber’s b*tch.  Sad.

I wouldn't feel too sorry for him. He probably got the biggest payday of his career and the Rolex was a nice early Christmas gift. He is pushing 40 so he's not in his youth anymore so it's probably best he just makes the most of that money he's got because I doubt he'll be getting anywhere close to that again. It's not like most fighters don't just take any pay days they can get after their prime. Even the greats usually do it.

Lucky punch.

You could probably say that about most punches. I think it deserves a place in the highlight reel of the best knock-outs of the year.

That was one hell of a knockout highlight.  Looks like Woodley was gassed pretty bad at that point.  This is why you don't take a fight at the last minute...

Now it's all about who is next...  Masvidal got called out but seems to only want to MMA, which I was surprised to see a great fighter basically cower from a challenge in the ring.  That says something about what Paul is doing and that he's getting respect from real fighters now.

Le'Veon Bell wanting to be the next to fight Paul seems intriguing to me.  Supposedly Bell is a great fighter and a hell of an athlete.  I'd like to see that fight.  I'd rather see him fight a real boxer at this point though, or at least a non-retired fighter of some kind.

I'd still like to see the Tommy fight, even though I think Jake probably does a number on him. Though, at least then we would be able to gauge his ability against a fighter to is still very much currently partipating in primarily a boxing aspect, rather than mixed martial art, and retired fighters.

I'm really hoping this fight gets made. I wouldn't back either of them because I think it's a fairly well-rounded fight but the pressure will be on Tommy. I'm wondering if he might even dodge the fight now after that knock out. The stakes are huge for both of them. If Jake wins then people really will be talking and the bigger names will come calling. If Tommy loses that will follow him around for the rest of his career. It might even end it. It's a logical step for Jake as it gets him the credo of fighting an active pro boxer without trying to fight someone who will either take his head off or shamefully out box him.

Masvidal would be sweet, though Jake probably wins that from a boxing point of view. Though, Masvidal being from a street fighting background might be able to fair better than previous MMA fighters against Jake, although I'm not sure I'm prepared to see the circus it would create if Jake Paul managed to knock out Masvidal.

I'm not sure about that. Masvidal is pretty tough. If I was Jake I'd leave him alone and take someone less risky like Fury before trying to snare someone like Mayweather or McGregor. I think McGregor will be itching to take a fight like this especially if he keeps losing in the UFC.

You have a point on that, I thought Tyron will beat Jake Paul this time.
But with that one solid punch and made Tyron KO in cold, that was the winning moment for Paul.
Well, I guess, Paul will get more exhibition fights now that a lot of professional boxing fights are getting cancelled again.
Would be nice if he will challenge the current top boxer in his weight division, and fight professionally.
But it seems another exhibition match is brewing - names like Tommy Fury, Nate Diaz or Mike Tyson are popping up...

Wow, $2 million, that's more than what a professional fighter is making when they are not yet too popular. No wonder why Jake Paul would stay focused on exhibition fights despite his capability to enter into a professional fight. Just imagine, if Woodley made that much, the how much Jake Paul has made in this fight?

Yes, there's big money that's at stake for his matches and that's why whoever he challenges, it's likely that will receive a big chunk as him. It's a no-brainer that fights like this keep on going and there are a lot of fans that will generate them money, not just about the fight but also the entertainment that it brings.

Woodley could have got an extra point if he won by KO, but the opposite happened and Jake was right telling Woodley that he cannot KO him and the offered amount which was $500k was kept by Jake Paul. He truly is a superstar now, but I have a question in mind, will he ever fight Mayweather and risk his undefeated record?
