With the new NBA season upon us I thought it would be good to bring up this betting thread exclusively for Sportsbet.io discussion.
It is similar to the other thread I had previously but it got buried due to matches being postponed or cancelled.

So here is a revision of that one and it is for those over and under combination bets aswell any other bets pertaining to the NBA.

I wouldn't bet on the 1st game of a season.

Better to wait until more data and trends can be observed before making calls.

Draft info and last year's stats only get you so far.

The better play IMO is to pick a team to win the championship before the 1st game of the season. There's no advantage to betting on the 1st game. But there is a big boost in odds to pick the championship winner in the same timeframe.

First matches of the season for any teams are fairly difficult to predict who will win because with so many trades during the off-season, every team look new and we need to see how each player performs with their new team mates.
The three teams the bookmakers have said either the Lakers, Bucks or Nets.

Nice to see that there's an NBA thread as well, anyway I got the Nuggets for today, if there's one team that you can rely at home it's probably the Nuggets.

Currently 5-1 at home and even without Murray they're doing well while the Hawks are on their sixth consecutive loss on the road. I just think this line should be more favored than it should be since the Nuggets are still a solid team.

I had a O/U betslip last night including that Nuggets game, but it seems they were all under except for the game I was actually watching and thought I was winning.
Because they were all being played at almost the same time, I did only follow one while live.

So boring to bet now on NBA because of there inconsistent performance due to adjustment. I usually place a parlay but now it's very hard because weak team can miraculously beat strong team since all teams is not that serious compared during the last part of the season since team on the 7 and below spot are all serious to qualify on the playoffs. This thread is cool for discussion about observation on the performance of each team.

Suggestion OP, Maybe make a segment on the main thread for those underdog team that has a high chance to beat top team base on the match history in this season. I will be happy to bet one of those team in the future.

I think there are already 2 threads about discussion over performances of each teams and their matches, this thread would be better focused on team stats, more technicalities.

If you'd watch the past games, everyone's at their fresh start, you can't expect consistency since it's this early of the season, I placed consecutive bets over the Warriors since I was studying the games and apparently, consistency goes for the Warriors, and other teams from the West, you can check their stats on the NBA website even if you really want to be serious on NBA betting.

What I'm trying to suggest here just to make a certain portion on the OP as reference since this thread purposes is for betting. I didn't imply here a discussion for that matter if you want to re-read again my statement. I know that there's a general thread for this but it's hard to filter all analysis since most post there is just too generalized.

Rolling with the Hawks at home @1.60 vs Celtics, this match might seem like a toss up at first glance but once you see the Hawks record at home it starts to make sense (5-1) only loss was against the Jazz and beat solid teams like the Bucks, Heat and Mavs.

On top of this, some teams are just having a hard time recently because their starting players are injured.

For me it's not boring, I know it sucks to lose but it's nice to see other teams come out on top once in a while instead of seeing the same five teams dominate.

Tried several times and a couple of mbtc later with no luck trying to hit atleast a three game parlay with O/U.

So I've decided to give betbuilder a try and with Steph Curry chasing the record this week, now would be a perfect time for prop betting to be included.

He is 10 three pointers away from seizing that record away from Ray Allen scoring 6 last night:

On top of this, Knicks' form looks horrendous only winning 2 out of the last 10 games, and even if Curry remains cold on the three-point line they still have a lot of players who could make up for it.

Edit: Phew, it looked unlikely after 3 quarters but the Warriors turned it up and covered the total points at the final possession.

Honestly that's a pretty good bet, the lines are still respecting the d from last year but this year the Knicks d has fallen off and don't have anyone who can guard steph.  I expect this to be in the 220s one way or another so 104 for gs is a pretty good line. Good luck

Liking the Grizzlies @1.75 for today as they take on Portland and i'm surprised at how this line is close to even when Blazers is on a bad streak while the Grizzlies are stringing some good wins recently.

I get that playing at home is their best chance knowing Blazers suck on the road but in their current situation, I think their only win condition is when Lillard suddenly gets hot and drops like 50 points.

Blazers kept it sweaty in the third quarter but Grizzlies bounced back in the fourth quarter and closed the game with a win. Taking the Grizzlies -6.5 again as they go against the Kings, the Kings have won 4 out of 5 matches at home but today they're missing a couple of key players (Fox, Len, Mitchell). Expecting the Grizzlies to win by double digits at the minimum.
