It's a lot, especially if you have something like that and decide to use it in gambling, which is not ideal. Unless you have a lot of space to lose that kind of money, and from the looks of it, it seems you can handle something like that, and you are even aiming to get it back in the following days.

3. For Sportsbetting / Slots , i will take 1 month back and rethink on what happen in the last 2-3 days before back to gambling . From what thought and watching the post that you guys gave me , i mostly will stop on gambling for awhile especially slots. Side note : as I am a huge fighting fans (MMA) but usually just bet 100-500$ bets . The way i lost 20k is that i just tried to earn some huge wins by buying 'bonus' and not by rolling spins. Maybe this is way i lost so much in short amount of time .

Good that you have learned something from this big loss and will stay away from gambling for a while. You are totally right by doing so. Take your time and have no hurry to start betting again, because a loss of 20,000$ must not be neglected. Don't try to beat the house at all costs. Set your own limits and if even by doing this you aren't able to win, just give up. There is no reason to be ashamed in giving up when the chances are against you. That is actually the smartest thing to do. And always keep in mind although you can get rich by gambling, it's not necessarily (and probably) going to to happen. So take it only as a hobby activity.

But I understand where he is coming from because I was once a addicted gambler and lost all my money too. So it's going to be hard for him, hopefully you need to take control of yourself. You need to seek help and recognized that you have an addiction and maybe it will help you out. It's going to be difficult, but take it day by day. Try to make your everyday busy, get some hobby, involved yourself, like doing some exercise and yoga too, it might help you alleviate that cravings of your gambling.

I suggest that you take a break not just from casino but from gambling in general. Forget about both casino and sportsbook for now. I am doubting you can easily resist the urge to visit the casino if you are still exposed to online gambling. Exclusion from the casino feature on stake is not a strong way to stop your gambling urge. It is just a few clicks away and you already find yourself playing in some other casino or dice sites. If you are really serious in controlling your gambling loss, you should take a full gambling rest.

That's really nice to hear. Your life as a gambler is already spiraling down toward addiction. That seems obvious. See with me... how does a website allow you to bet lose 20k in just two days?
If you were to earn 20k in two days would you be able to withdraw this amount so quickly without going through any "additional checks"? Most likely doesn't, but to spend that money they don't create any hindrance.

Most houses only think about winning money, and aren't concerned with the financial health of their players, they are very much to blame for that.

The slot is addicting on physical casinos but I find it difficult to actually play on online casinos so quite find it hard to see OP playing the game and then losing a lot of money thru it. But yep addiction is real, you don't even realize it until you already lost a substantial amount of money. $20k is big seeing that everyone today needs savings to survive the crisis we experience.

For me that $20k is a lot of money if you convert it here into our local currency but we all have different perspectives on the value of money I just thought that you made a lot of profit from trading in your portfolio for you not to get depressed from that $20k, I think you will be ok because you are thinking of stopping and finding ways how to stop, that's the first step.
Compulsive gamblers usually don't want to stop and will ignore all advice on how to stop, just practice meditation and you can stop when you want to stop and play within your means.

That is the best advise from someone who had a Huge lost because of his own direct involvement for gambling because the best way to treat gambling is never trust gambling for Living instead trust this for enjoyment meaning allocate only amount of money that you can afford to lose and also allocate enough time that you can spare.

One things that gamblers and traders can make mistake about is to be thinking of getting back the money they have lost already, this will only automatically and psychologically set up a poor mindset for them, they will only aim for how to gain the money back, but the more they will lose. What I can tell the victim which I believe is the best choice he can make, is that he should quit gambling for now, he should never bet. This will make him know the extent he has control over gambling and helping him to discipline himself. Later he can then begin to gamble again with just low amount of money which he can afford to lose and never think about and letting bygones be bygones.

All the advice on how to force yourself to quit gambling is of course absolutely correct.  But, however, the question always arises whether the player will be able to cope with his demon who all the time tells him: "play again, bet everything .. You will win back !!!" 👿and many are not able to resist and then all lose completely. 

Here we need outside help from relatives and family members in order to distract a person from these thoughts in various ways as soon as possible - outdoor sports, walks, parties, whatever, just not a computer.

Were you depressed?, were you having such a bad time that gambling was only what could grant you solace? i've seen folks just like those who drink alcohol to stupor when they have a bad time, find their solace in gambling and casino houses whenever they are having a bad time or feel depressed.

If that was the case, because of the future, please try as much as possible to stop or replace the way you find solace, because depression will always be something to contend with, and if you continue turning to gambling to find solace, you may just loose more money in trying to find it.

Good decision pretty much, you lost way too much in a single session, judging from how hard I think it hit you, I assume the money is pretty big for your situation, so taking a break in general is really something that you'd really need. I'd even suggest spending some money on some stuff that you enjoy just so that you can enjoy your vacation much more. Don't blame yourself too hard for the losses, gambling does that to you, but don't completely say it isn't your fault, It's still you making the final say in decisions like that after all.

Gambling will hit you hard if you go hard at it that is what we call it as addiction, the good thing is the amount seems affordable for you even though its huge so you realized it sooner or else the things maybe much worse to be honest. Slots is a fast-paced game, so the mindset must be different. In Sports bet/UFC you just can't (or won't) bet over 100 times per week because of limited match per week, but in slots, 100 spins is just a ten minutes play. So if your usual bankroll is $500, in slots, it's $0.5/spin for normal spin, or $50/bonus buy. The idea is to have some balance between winning chance and the prize. I mean, you can do $0.1/spin but it will be meaningless, conversely you can do $50/spin but most likely you'll get busted.

That amount is a big one lost no matter where it generates from and I am really sorry for that.What's lost is lost so we cannot do anything about it,however for the next time we can take some counter measures.The first thing to ask to yourself before jumping to play is what could I have done with the amount of money that I have lost?Well probably many things but I want to stay at just one,I would have built a mining rig or bought an ASIC with that money,that way I would keep generating small profit daily and by doing so removing somewhat the need for gambling.

It's shocking especially if the money that has been spent to gamble was from daily expenses or for family purposes, it's a shame tbh if these gamblers doesn't think twice before making a bet and risks it.

It's not that hard to get out of gambling I know personally an addicted one and it's even a close relative to me. They can't control the urge to gamble especially if it's like the habit they usually do everyday and quiting will take time and more effort not only him but to his/her inner circle too.

That how addiction work and those did is an early sign and if he let his self indulge more in gambling for sure next to that he will do bad things or take a huge loan just to bet on casinos or any betting places. He is a trader by word , maybe that amount he lost are the profit or even the capital from His investments and this is the reason why he felt so desperate and bad in the outcome of his gambling losses.
and having this thread broadcasted i believe that he is not that rich to lose that amount though he commit mistakes and have a wrong decisioning recently.
