Well I’m back, you probably remember me from starting Bitcoin7.com which was the first Bitcoin exchange ever to exist that didn’t turn out to be a complete scam. Anyway, I remember 2009 like it was yesterday, we all were a part of this forum, downloaded the original Bitcoin wallet and were mining 300 BTC an hour with our 1-Core CPU’s.

The reason for this thread is to shed some light on what’s currently going on with the Bitcoin ecosystem, the multiple branch-chain offsets of the original BTC and Satoshi’s whitepaper. So if you are still an advocate for the digital currency we all wanted to be a success but no one really knew how we were going to get there, I want to ask if you were ever able to get your Bitcoins out of Mt.Gox after that Russian hack?

Register here to schedule an upcoming live session for an interview if you want to get paid in Bitcoin for helping me build my new upcoming exchange:

And yet you just signed up on this forum!

There is, as it has always been only one "branch" of bitcoin, its consensus rules, its blockchain and one whitepaper.

You wanted this "digital currency" to succeed and yet you stored it with a third party?!

Why not you first tell us about how you succeeded recover 22 bitcoins. Is it the whole amount you had in MT Gox?
According to cryptoassetrecovery, those who registered a claim before October 22, 2018 will be able to recover some of their assets. However, a Russian law firm confirmed that it will be able to recover only 25 of the lost account and that it will get a portion from that account as fee.
Honestly, you are the first i know who claim recovering from hacked MT Gox.

Why don't you use just your old Bitcoin7 account, and can you please provide some evidence that you are the same owner of that acount?
If you don't do that I will consider that you are just lying and making up stories like many people did before you.
I don't know why but I have a funny feeling that we are going to hear some digital cash bch-bsv propaganda from you soon.

Wanna share us the transaction where you recovered your 22 BTC? Otherwise, I have a strong feeling same as dkbit98's.

This exchange is long gone and they'd said they got ripped off. Really, how did they return them to you? Did you log in their website? Nah, it's closed since 2014. Did you send them an email and they responded? Or you just woke up and saw an incoming transaction of 22 BTC?

Nah! I don't think so. I believe there could be forum members here who are well loaded with BTC but are keeping a low profile. This forum provides more than what the outside world offers in relation to cryptos and those who value cryptos and we're registered here in the past hardly leave except where they have escalated issues with other members of the forum.

Howbeit, I believe the OP is just trolling. It's an unbelievable story that an exchange that couldn't return Bitcoin of that quantity when price was low would want to do that now that price is hitting the roof, literarily. It's unbelievable.

Dude, please allow people to live with their privacy and ask for information as much as they are willing to share. That would make the place better in my opinion. Why would he be sharing the tx link? You are sponsored by ChipMixer which promotes privacy while you are asking people to leak their privacy. I also don't believe any basless claiming but who cares? It's not important to say what he just said is true or not.
Regarding the mt-gox BTC return-

Any payout is expected to be a fraction of the original amounts held by creditors, after taking in account the lost coins.

Privacy has nothing to do with question I asked, and I never asked him to make any transaction proof, but there is something fishy about him and history of Bitcoin7.com in this forum.
All I asked him is to provide proof that he is the owner of Bitcoin7 forum account and not some imposter, because anyone can claim that he is Satoshi Nakamoto or anyone else.

Nope, just saying hi. Was the Tether and BitFinex owner mystery solved? Were they the same group and were they manipulating market conditions or was that an entire lie?
That is fine, but I will consider you as imposter and a liar from now on.
Have a nice day and enjoy your 22 fake bitcoins  Cheesy

I may seemed attacking, but I didn't really expect a transaction id. I know they're lying and preferred to deride their post by adding these rhetorical questions. As for awareness of privacy, do you know any folks who'll state they got 22 BTC, but will be cautious of their movements?

I find it mocking to create a new account, say this and expect some serious discussion. I believe that I responded accordingly to their druthers.

Well I’m back, you probably remember me from starting Bitcoin7.com which was the first Bitcoin exchange ever to exist that didn’t turn out to be a complete scam.

Not a complete scam you say, so 5000 BTC disappeared by some inexplicable miracle? If it's really you, then you have the wrong idea that people have forgotten your dirty work, history has remembered you as a scammer.

The exchange now appears to be for sale:

Here's a snapshot of how it looked before:
http://web.archive.org/web/20110816000324/https://bitcoin7.com/

Here's it advertised for sale on flippa.com
https://flippa.com/2999232-bitcoin-exchange-ready-to-launch-immediately-multi-currency-14-languages

Considering the very shady history of this exchange, anyone wanting to buy it should really do a code review.

As you know, much of the text on the exchange was blatantly ripped directly off Tradehill at the time

They claim that the 5K BTC stolen was not because of site being compromized, but an insider job.

So to me this looks very shady, both the unethical action about copying text directly off the Tradehill website, and the theft of these bitcoins.

Not saying this is a basket of rotten eggs, but some code review would be wise..

Edit: Perhaps move this to service discussion forum as well.

You wouldn't be here if you had 22 BTC.  Cheesy

You'd be off buying Yachts and Mansions and Bugatis etc.

Speaking of Bugatti, they say the cheapest model costs about $1.7 million, and 22 BTC = $1.32 million - not to mention how much a luxury yacht or villa in a luxury location costs. While it seems like a lot, 22 BTC is not a fortune that has the same value anywhere in the world.

Your response to Op was kinda attacking to be honest. This is very likely that they are lying but I think we shouldn't ask them for private info to verify. It will not make any difference if he tells lie and doesn't provide proof. I hope you got my post.

On the contrary. If he is claiming something, which may have an impact on the community, then it is perfectly acceptable for us to ask for proof.
If he argues that the community should recognize him as the founder of Bitcoin7.com, he needs to substantiate that statement with evidence. Otherwise, we shouldn't trust him whatever he says.

I was the owner of the original, original Bitcoin7 exchange. Before it was hacked, even back then I was using cold wallets to store all of user funds. Fortunately I was able to return everyone's currency with no issues, which would is worth billions today. We peaked around 60,000 - 77,000 users in 2009 running on basic APACHE. Dare I say it, I made a lot of people very rich, especially if they've HODL'ed. After my exchange was hacked I was discouraged to continue and went back to developing websites and applications, so I sold the exchange. What they did with it after, I could care less.

This is as much proof as Craig Wright can show to prove he's SN. All you said is publicly available information (and should I mention that everyone here knows that whoever's been hodling for +10 years is now rich AF?), so it's no legit proof.
