With the postponement, this fight might not push through. The sad thing is that time is running out of these fighters. Youth is not on their side. And they have been inactive for a considerably long time already before the day of their match arrives, GGG for more than a year and Murata more than 2 years. If I were the organizers and promoters of this fight, I would rather look for a place somewhere that doesn't have a strict travel policy for foreigners. We know there is a risk because the new Omicron variant is already spreading but there must be a nice country that could host this match.
I think the same however most likely there are contractual obligations that does not allow them to do that, and even if they were not we need to consider all the expenses that are necessary to organize and promote a fight, a change of venue will without a doubt increase the cost for the promoters making the fight unprofitable for them, so I think it is way more likely we could see the fight taking place where it was originally agreed to or a cancellation of the fight than a change of venue.
Change of venue would be out of their options but rather make things to wait up.We are on a global pandemic situation on which it would really be just right and considerable for those delays and fans could  wait up for the fight rather than these organizers would changed out some venue for that sake of that and as said it wont really be profitable for them to do so.
Just like other fights that do happen now and been postponed do really share up on the same very reason so there shouldnt really be made those kind
of adjustments and just wait for the right time on resuming those fights.

Change of venue would be out of their options but rather make things to wait up.

In the first place, no way they will think about it for now, same with other factors that might change everything.

Unless Japan will extend the period of their current restrictions, that would be considered. Maybe a month or two of waiting won't spoil the supposed timeline of the fight so it's ok to wait. After all, no problem at both boxers as it's also giving time for them to prepare more.

Time flies so fast, the fight should be happening tomorrow. Let's wait then for further updates.

And the second factor is that as we know as the local and the champion Murata will have an advantage with the judges, and it will allow him to more easily retain his title, and that advantage is important when you are fighting someone like GGG.

There's no Japanese judge if I remember correctly. Do you think as a host country, they can influence the decision of foreign judges? What if Murata really scores lots of points. If there's something not right with the decision, we will see it clearly if we watch the fight.

Let's disregard the flaws in the result. Judges will have a fair result on that match and I'm willing to bet on it.
Even if there is no Japanese judge judging the fight they will be affected, now I am not saying that somehow the judges have been bribed to give the fight to Murata, even if we know that something like that can happen, what I am saying is that it is known that in team sports like soccer the referee will give a slight a advantage to the home team just because of the crowd.

And something similar can happen here, and when a fight is close even a single point can be the difference between winning or losing, and it is obvious that in that instance Murata will have an advantage over GGG.

Unfortunately, it is what it is, and yes, no need to change the venue of the fight. The promoters have invested their money already here. And they are not going to just move the venue somewhere else because it will involved another set of money that they can't recoup.

I'm not really sure who set up this fight and why in Japan, I reckon the deal was brokered by Murata's manager that's why it will be held in their country. Nonetheless, it's a good choice because Japanese loves their boxers as they think of them as national hero's too. But as you have said, their government has really to do this measures not to allow any sporting events in their country to prevent the spread of the new Covid-19 variant so the fight should wait a bit.
I think it's part of GGG's Big Drama show showcase his fights anywhere across the globe like his recent fights that was held at O2 in London and Madison Square Garden in New York, and since they have their own GGG promotions with the help of Teiken Promotions which concluded the fight to be held at Saitama Super Arena in Japan. And as usual, this fight will be packed by crowd knowing that this will be a huge fight for the Japanese people.

Right, but recently, there is a supposedly fight in Japan, that was scraped already. And instead the fighter will face fellow a Japanese. So still the ball is in GGG here if he wanted to proceed with the fight or look for a different opponent because they don't know what will be the nature of the Japanese government or when will they allow foreigners to enter their country again. And Murata can still fight but it will be all Japanese if they really wanted him to be a busy boxer.

USA had already announced that it already lifted the travel ban of international flights from countries that are heavily affected by Omicron virus.

So other countries such as Japan might also do the same and we can expect this fight to still be realized early next year.

We don't have to think and fear that there will be a cheating or bias decision on the day of the said fight, the Japanese are known for its tradition and characteristics for being fair and square in any aspect. There's really nothing to worry about, this match will end peacefully entertaining.
That kind of thinking isn't going to help because once you think about it, you'll going to end up like there's cheating happened until the end of the event. All we can do is watch and trust the organizers and judges.

Yes, there's no update yet in regard to this fight,

no schedule yet and both fighters can use these opportunities to train harder,

I still eyeing to see GGG inside the ring and showcase his talent. He still got good

space in this sport and he still can fight if given a chance to meet with other good boxers.

Small step for now, winning this fight from Murata may open the door for more promoters to see his worth.. Wink

Well that's what we wanted to hear in the next coming days so that there will be no cancellation of the said fight so that we can see GGG again. But we all know that Japanese government has it's own decision so we still don't know if they are going to follow what US has done lifting the travel ban as we all know that Japan is very strict as far as Covid-19 because they don't what to experience when it all burst last last year that subsequently affected the Olympics.

There's no update yet regarding Japan's travel ban, they may have a different policy than the USA and that would be a hindrance for this fight to happen early next year. I just hope for the best and that these two fights will finally fight each other as a big fight is always a good start for the new year.

Wink

For sure he would in terms of those opportunities that would in line if he would able to beat up Murata on this one and showcase his worth even though he's getting older.
About travel bans then its true that Japan is really strict when it comes to that but lets see if they would really be opening up their borders and wont really be making
some postponement again on next years fight schedule.Lets hope that that it wont happen on next years to come.

Don't say that, it's already postponed, not canceled, so we still have to be optimistic that the right will push through early next year. This is a big fight, both fighters will have a chance to proved who is the better fighter, and make some enormous pay as well, so don't give up on this one, be more positive that the fight will still happen.

I am still optimistic that this fight will happen. I hope it will happen even if it means it is not fought in Japan. I hope it is only postponed. But sometimes if it is repeatedly postponed and for months, the sense of excitement and anticipation is gradually gone. And then the desire to fight the same opponent is lost which results in looking for another opponent. That again will take time. And since these fighters are not getting any younger they're already losing a lot of opportunities.
The truth is, I do not think that the fight will be postponed for a long time, many are looking forward to this fight, and since everything in the world is, they may postpone it due to the fact of COVID-19 and its variant of Omicron, but nothing more for the fundamental At the same time, they know that they are losing a lot of money and they are not earning a lot, this has a great influence, especially for the organizers and for the boxers, because they are many months of inactivity and the training is not the same, despite that many want the fight to happen as soon as possible.

If Murata can beat GGG without a doubt this will bring him to the spotlight, even if GGG is not at his best anymore due to his age he is still a very good fighter and even a victory over him by a small margin will increase the visibility for someone like Murata that is mostly famous on is own country.

That being said it is not going to be easy, GGG is still a champion and has a lot of experience in this kind of championship fights, so if I was Murata I will try to take it slow during the first rounds and then try to take advantage of the old age of GGG in the last rounds.

Talks about revenue then organization is aware on whats happening around and of course they would really be focusing on fights which hype is on the roof because they do know that it could really bring out
considerable revenue despite of this pandemic situation it is really just they do need to comply safety health protocols before anything else even its not really that main interest for it to happen
but they would really be getting lots of criticisms in case they would push it through specially now that new variant had surfaced out which it is not sensible on proceeding on things
because that would turn out to be looking bad.

As far as previous updates are concerned about when is the reschedule date, no changes to the first date and it's still likely to be March or April.

However, the venue might be changed and that's what organizers are dealing with right now.

Regardless, I like the fight to be held on the original venue, Saitama Super Arena in Japan so that Murata will somehow have an advantage as fans watching live to support someone will boost a boxer's morale despite being an underdog on that match.

I also still like it to proceed on the same venue in Japan, at least we will see how GGG will respond to the crowd because for sure they are going to cheer for Murata here.

However, we've seen that GGG is not affected by it, I remember him fighting Kell Brook in O2 arena and it's pro-Brook crowd obviously. But it doesn't bother GGG a bit as he stop Brook and broke his orbital bone that fight.

I don't think GGG will be affected psychologically by the crowd, he has been a professional for many years and for sure has been in a hostile environment before, just like in the Canelo fight. I think in the US, it is still Canelo and we all know how the fight turns out to be specially in the first one wherein majority saw him winning but the judges think otherwise.

So I think this fight will still favored GGG even if the fight is going to be held in Japan and if they are going to help and cheer their very own against him.

Crowd wont really be that much of a problem and yes GGG had been going through all of those stuffs which i dont see for it to be a major problem for him or wont really be that an issue.

Whats on mind is to beat up the opponent that he had in front nothing else. For some this would be a big or serious factor which could affect fighting performance but for GGG
then i dont have any doubts in relation to this.

As long calls or decisions would be fair then its all good.

Fighter's most likely being inspired when they wanted to prove how great they are, and with the crowd is against them, they wanted to showcase their talents. I know that GGG wanted that, and he wants to have more fight to come; the venue is good to prove that he
(GGG) still has that killer instinct when it comes to this sport.

No further update yet and with this omicron, for sure Japan will continue to monitor the situation before they will decide. Cool Wink
