Electrum is a wallet, so just as every other wallet, you can't communicate with them via it. Where did you find the donation address? In the same website, there should be a contact page.
I'm really curious on how you did this. Even if you didn't confuse BTC with mBTC, you should have only sent 7,600 sats and not 76,000 which is $50.

Donated 5000$ instead 50$ how can i contact receiver throught electrum ?
Uff. With BTC transactions, you won't have a chance to contact the recipient. That is why it is essential to double and triple check all data. There are only 2 possibilities left, but one of them can be ruled out right from the start, since you are talking about a donation! 1. You know the recipient and can at least prove on the basis of the transaction that the BTC came from you and he returns the money to you. In the case of a donation, you should know where you have donated to. 2. The recipient notices the receipt of the money, is an honest person and transfers it back to the sender. Which is rather unlikely in the case of a donation address...

The description never arrives to the receiver. It's just for the sender. Think of it as a label to understand what's your transaction history.

It is possible that instead of the amount in BTC he entered the amount in $, but he completely overlooked that there were more zeros than what he intended to send. I think that many do not use the preview button, which could prevent such errors, although even before sending there is a window in which the transaction must be confirmed with a password, and there is the number of coins/fiat value of the transaction. I guess OP was very eager to donate and in a hurry didn’t pay attention to detail, fortunately, this time that mistake did not cost him a considerable sum.

It is possible that instead of the amount in BTC he entered the amount in $, but he completely overlooked that there were more zeros than what he intended to send. That was my second guess, but it sounds far-fetched. I mean, you can't really overlook two zeroes... I guess OP was very eager to donate and in a hurry didn’t pay attention to detail, fortunately, this time that mistake did not cost him a considerable sum. Isn't $4,950 a considerable sum? They haven't got their money back yet and I may seem pessimistic, but I don't think they will. 33wvNiUkXJAJ85e4yXJxJVWtsKqWDsDFK4 You tell us. You sent $5000.

I had the impression that the OP had managed to solve the problem, unless the solved does not relate to something else, such as that he realized that it was a WL donation address. solved Yes it is wikileaks donatation address

Is this the address from the WL donation page? As far as I can see they use SegWit addresses starting with 3, and the address you are interested in has a link to CoinPayments -> https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/577901d888720fab?from_address=33wvNiUkXJAJ85e4yXJxJVWtsKqWDsDFK4

Does Wikileaks keep the coins? I doubt it. And then it could also be that 33wv... address belongs to a payment processor that has received the coins and transfers fiat into Wikileaks bank account.

It could be, but I don't think so. Almost every input to the address 33wv... comes from 1HB5..., which I would not expect if the 33wv... address was part of a payment processor. I would expect it either to receive many transactions from a variety of addresses if it is part of their central wallet, or to only receive a single transaction since they would generate a new address for each deposit. And similarly, every transaction out of that address is out of that address only, and never combines or consolidates funds with other addresses. It certainly sends a payment to a CoinPayments linked address as Lucius has said above, but I don't think it's owned by them. Regardless, even if it is a payment processor, they aren't going to go over the head of their customer and start processing a refunding for someone claiming to have sent a donation to their customer. ready donate for any helpful information There is literally nothing anyone on this forum can do. Bitcoin transactions are not reversible and so the only entity who can refund your money is the entity you sent it to. Contact WikiLeaks in every way you can and be patient while you wait for a response.

Clearly. Obviously OP has to discuss with Wikileaks. My point was that because of "this or that" OP should not expect he will get back the exact difference in Bitcoin at the moment of sending (and that he may even get fiat). But again: OP has to get a way to communicate with Wikileaks (i.e. get them answer) first.

If you somehow manage to contact Wikileaks and explained how you made a stupid rookie mistakes sending them much bigger donation, you would still need to prove ownership of your original address used to send them Bitcoin, and even then it's not guaranteed they would send you back any coins. I don't know what exact BTC address you used to sent them donation (and I doubt if you really sent anything or you just trolling), but on Wikileaks website they clearly said that old 1HB5X... address should NOT be used anymore! They only accept donation on new Segwit addresses starting with 3, and you can generate new address yourself with each click. Please do not use old (1HB5X...) donation address. https://shop.wikileaks.org/donate
