If you mean you will see them actively trading at the market 5 years from now, yes they are and no doubt about. 5 years is just a short timeframe to think these coins will be totally dead within that period. My suggestion is, don't just hold but when your instincts and research tell you that you need to sell some, just do it without hesitation.

You need to actively monitor your portfolio that let it idle for good.

I can only say of ethereum and not any other coins on this list, ethereum has already survived for more than five years which makes it clear that in the next five years ethereum can only get better with updates and new forks.
Polkadot is another coin that has a long term survival attributes but we have to watch to see how that play out since the project is still new in the market.

They are one of the good set you've go there. I'm not too much bullish on THETA but they are a good addition in a portfolio. Cardano and Polkadot still has to prove their worth but they do have a good hype and a large community. Terra Luna are doing some impressive work and would probably flourish. Avax though not the most popular of utility coins, would prosper along with other cheaper options like polygon or cro.

Definitely, Polkadot, Luna and Avalanche will need to be tested more by the market.

All of your coins are well established and already pretty big projects so i see no reason why they should not survive in the longterm. I also think survive is not the right term here as others already said. The question is if those projects that you own will still be relevant in 5 Years and if they will also pump if the rest of the markets pump and even in this regard i think that you have a pretty safe portfolio there. You maybe won't see a x10 of your investment but there are surely some gains still possible if everything goes in an expected way. We just have to hope that Ethereum manages to solve the problem with the extremely high gas fees withing the next year or so.

But most of the projects you have in the list have already survived a few years and it will make it through for the next few years too.
These coins are quite popular and have a good marketcap and so unless and until a major flaw is found in their blockchains they will probably survive the next 5 years.

you have a good pick mate, just don't base on short term because those projects in your list will work only through long run like bitcoin.. So better hold it for years and i suggest to keep your keys in a safe place to assure everything will gonna be alright when its time for you to dump..  they're very promising projects to be honest so be patient indeed your money in a safe hand since all those coin were genuine and has professional tewm so no need to worry.. I'm pretty sure that all the coins or tokens that you own will still last for a period of 5 years. mostly you hold popular coins that have had a huge volume and demand from the past to the present day in the market. So, don't hesitate to have it.

Except for bitcoin always assume that whatever altcoin in which you are invested is going to crash at some point in the future and disappear, I know this is not the healthiest mindset for an investor but taking into account what we see in this market all the time I think it is necessary to have that kind of mindset, however why do you ask that question? Were you planning on not watching your portfolio during all of that time? Because that is a terrible idea, keep monitoring the markets and if there is something wrong with those coins you can sell while maintaining most of the profits you have obtained with those coins.

5 years is a really really long time to measure accuracy of whether these coins would survive. ETH has been here since 2015 anyway, surely people already asked the same as you in that year if it will be "actively" traded by 2020 and now they got their answer.
I cannot say the same for the rest of what you mentioned in your portfolio. As what harizen said, just keep monitoring your portfolio.

As long the coins already in market, not have problem with network, dev leave the project and cause left by investor and then lack of volume in market, i think nothing to worry about it. Most on this list are platforms of outstanding nature and long-term initiatives, this year is the aura of the vast majority of these names, although some of the characters in it don't stand out as much as the crowd, overall it's extremely difficult to have a long-term nightmare with the core platforms. Every point is true here, But for ETH I believe it will surely survive. You know, Bitcoin and Ethereum are legends and most people trust these two blockchains. I don't compare Ethereum with Bitcoin but you have to agree that ETH is the legend of all altcoin. Sometimes speed, supply, tx fees, and gas fees are nothing when it comes to trust. Bitcoin and Ethereum are cut high transactions fees rather than other altcoin and both of these are slower than newcomers like Tron/BSC projects. Tron/BSC are able to perform thousands of transactions within <1 second, But people trust BTC & ETH. That's why its price is top. So, in long run, ETH is really a good investment besides Bitcoin.

I am not entirely sure about Tera and Theta because I do not have any investments on all of those. However I know that the others are definitely looking like they could survive 5 years. We know that ETH will definitely make a profit in 5 years, that is a good one, ADA seems like it had a hype and reeled back to reality and I am not sure what it could do in 5 years, it depends on their development and if they could do smart contracts properly and there could be good projects then in 5 years it could be great, if not then they will fail to develop properly then it would go down for sure.

Avax seems like it has a decent future, it could be definitely going to a higher level in 5 years. Indeed. They can survive, especially ETH, as in the second place below of bitcoin position. At the same time, Cardano and Polkadot are in the top ten positions that still have many supports and can sustain their position for a long time depending on the team that will work for their project. Lol, The biggest possibility is that ETH, Dot will need to mature more for their scaling mechanism to allow for more macro creation.  ADA missed out on smart contracts after their mainnet, but that should improve soon.  Luna is also very impressed with their ecosystem.  I think Theta is somewhat lower than the rest but it is still a potential state that promises tremendous growth.  As far as development and compatibility goes, I assume they are both coins that will stand the test of time to prove the foundational value they can provide.

even though the list of the best coin categories is not always the price will always go up. for me we are waiting for the upcoming bear season where we can get effective price discounts later the nature of the altcoin fluctuates up and down. Certainly no guarntee, and only ETH I would feel confident making it through at this point in time. ADA definitely won't make it. You're actually right. But even Cardano hasn't to make any surprise 5 years from now, of course, ETH is truly possible. I'll go for the top 10 in the market as they are potentially profitable but we can't be confident that all of these coins went well, they're still at risk holding them.
And to assess what OP listed coins, certainly, I doubt them. I think he needs to divert his portfolio before taking the 5 years holding goal.

That requires great patience and needs a strong dedication. It's like forgetting anything as the purpose is just to hold those coins for long. The majority of coins on that list are proven to be last long. OP doesn't have to worry about that but instead, he should work on holding those for long if he can.

We'll see if it's really going to happen like you said next year. The two coins are always interesting to follow its development. If I personally believe that if the issue of Ethereum gas costs is still not resolved, then Ethereum will be defeated by BNB including Ethereum's position on coinmarketcap will be replaced.

I came in crypto in 2017, and most of the projects of that year, are dead now. It is hard to disegname with the right word what will happen to a specific altcoin. If its value right now is 1 dollar, and in 5 years its value will be 5 cents and devs will still work on the project. On one hand it is not dead, on the other its is close to being valueless. Can we say that is has survived? In general, as its value is more than zero yes, it has survived. But most altcoin owners will count it as dead.

Solid community for those coins, it's true and it can still be there after 5 years. But to mind you that things can be changed until we get to that year just as what happened for the past years.
The most stable at the top have been bitcoin and ethereum and next to them had the transition and replaced each other. We don't know what's with them until the next 5 years but if they remain solid as they are for now, that only means that they're going to be the same but expect a lot of changes.

so the countdown is just for 3 years now since we already reached 2 years and yet only Ethereum and Cardano Maintain its position since the thread created .
Luna on the other end is dead because of being scam and Dot is dropping  same as Avax and Theta .

with all of this yet ETH and ADA is in good shape

But the market still  shows these results

Yeah and even you miss some of your invested from your other assets, that can be recover if you will continue to hold your ETH investment and let it manifest when the bull season strongly approach the market, we don't know how high ETH can be once another bull run pump the market.

But with ETH inside your basket the chance of making money is possible, and in terms of your other coins, aside from Luna which small portion of your investment, the other coins may still have that good shot to make or bring you good profits.

Five years is not really a long time, according to many comments I've seen here. Many of these currencies have already made it up to this point, and they can do so again. I do not know whether the upcoming five years will be the same as the previous five years, but I believe that these five years are actually long-term and that these coins may have already survived. since everything has changed quickly and, in my opinion, has also had an impact on cryptocurrency trading. I can say Ethereum is of course survive in the coming years, but it’s really difficult to ensure about others coins although here all of those still top ranking coins in the CMC, you know LUNA is already abounded in the last year, so that there are no guarantee about others coins because 5 year's isn’t a matter of joke, crypto market is rapidly changing with new innovation as like AI,NFT, DeFi based platform.

Luna already eliminated but i think apart from that all will survive next 10 years easily with the tech behind it. Include solana in these too it's also another great coin with so much potential
