I'm usually using Yieldwatch to keep track of my yield results, however, its uptime was average the past few days and resorted to Growing.fi. I noticed that my Net Worth was strange looking, showing more than $500,000 worth of coins, which startled me. Upon further investigation, my wallet appears full of some sketchy looking tokens.

Their website prompts you to connect your wallet, but I'd rather not to, how did these appear? Why are in my wallet, and why is Growing.fi showing them and Yieldwatch isn't?

If you have used your wallet address somewhere then that means your public address have been seen and saved by the one who send the token. There are lots of scammer who will gather public addresses and send a token they created. You will be shocked to see that there's a value likr 30k in dollars. Quite suspicious right where you received a token worth a lot of money where you didn't participate or joined any or something. Better leave it there and don't touch it.

This is a new way to hack or scam people, they send fake tokens with a great value and if you are going to try to withdraw it, you have to connect with your wallet and this will put you on a bigger trouble. I have a lot of fake tokens as well since I do participate on Bounties before and I guess this is the main reason for that, if you put your address in public, you are expose to scammers and hackers.

That's surprising, I'm not sure where my address got leaked, I don't recall anything suspicious to be honest, nor do I participate in bounty campaigns/airdrops.

Figured it was something fishy though, I hadn't signed up for anything, it's probably a trick for those who are active in the bounty scene, trying to confuse their fake tokens, I just don't get why Growing.fi is showing them, shouldn't they provide some kind of filtering for such tokens?

There’s no random test here and most probably you joined a bounty before or you posted your address somewhere else, just like on your Roobet campaign, your address can be seen on the sheet.

Well, that’s fake tokens OP and you can’t do anything about it just ignore it and live with it. Never try to withdraw it because its too risky and they might gain access on your wallet if you do it, so better not to try at all.

This is intrusive spam, i personally ignore such things. On Ethereum, it is now an expensive pleasure, many spammers use the Binance Smart Chain network.

Your balance is done if you authorize connecting your wallet to those sites.

If you have used your wallet address somewhere then that means your public address have been seen and saved by the one who send the token.

It doesn't have to be that way. They only need to use blockchain scanners and see which wallet has an ETH or BNB or other crypto balances then send.

No you cannot filter tokens coming to your wallet. Only thing you could do now is hide them.

This type of fraud is common in networks where the transaction cost is very low, since scammers need to make a mass mailing of their tokens. Since these tokens cannot be swapped to DEX, the victim goes to the scammers website and, when connecting the wallet, mistakenly signs a contract to debit coins from the wallet.

Maybe they just scan a blockchain and then randomly pick addresses and you are 'lucky' that your address have been pick up by this scammers. No, there's no such thing as filtering, every addresses are valid until it is being tagged.

So as what others said, do not do anything stupid to connect your metamask or whatever wallet you got because for sure this is what this criminals are waiting from you, to make that one single mistake.

Better to avoid connecting your main wallet to any platform claiming that you can swap your unknown token values to a major pair. This scammy method is well known in the crypto field.
In meanwhile, try to check if those tokens you see have any trading volume in major exchanges. This just to let you make sure that someone is trying to scam you your savings in a deceiving way.

I've a lot of tokens now which usually be seen on binance chain network, these assets was somehow spamming and I couldn't figure out if they really gives legit profit to us. As per review mostly these coins has no trading value at all, and accusations raging over as I made research about them. Hopefully, this will be removed by the system and won't flood because I believed our wallets is vulnerable to potential hackers when this becomes rampant.

There has been recent reports on fake tokens in wallets in recent times.  This is a  new development observed mainly on BSC network.  Scammer probably got the wallet address when one performed airdrop or some  other activity that requires submitting wallet address.  I also have these fake tokens in my wallets.  One thing I have observed is that they indicate the website of the Token in the wallet  - way of prompting you to use their App - which is very dangerous. They already know you cannot withdraw using pancakeswap. So they lure you to use their App. Any attempt to use their App might result in the loss of tokens in your wallet or some other scary outcome. It is better avoided. We hope there will be a way of removing these fake tokens from wallets in the future.

There are plenty of fake/phishing tokens out there now. Be very aware.

I would suggest that you definitely don't take the chance. There is no free lunch and certainly no airdrop is going to be worth $500k.

Never connect your wallet to an app that you are not familiar with just because you want to access airdropped rewards.

I don't think it's strange, is it all bounty results or do you often follow airdrops?
I just checked my total bep20 wealth on Growing.fi, I have a fairly large amount which I then add custom to my trustwallet and it's ready to be sold when the price is high according to my target.

If your number or wealth data doesn't appear in Yieldwatch, I don't think you need to worry.

As for the problem. Their website asks you to link your wallet.. well you shouldn't do it as the experts have mentioned here for the safety of your assets.

Did you read his response about this? He said that he didn't participate in any bounties or airdrops. That's why he is asking how the hell they got his address/es.

Myself have seen a lot of this in past, even I received such unknown token in my wallet.

My best advise is just totally ignore it mate, and don't be curious about it.

Yeah, long back itself this is there. I've seen this in myetherwallet. When I check for the rewards from bounties I used to see some additional tokens which weren't part of the bounty as well as which isn't available in the market. But, here the value is very big and it'll surely tempt users to give a try and analyse what it is all about. Within my wallet the number of tokens seems to be high, but the values were not more than $5

After your accounts have become non-zero, different scams will come to you there. Do not go to these sites and do not install any of these tokens on your metamask and don't connect your wallet to their sites. No one under the guise of an airdrop will send you thousands of dollars for free. Personally I use Debank and I see hundreds of fishing tokens in my wallet and scammers maintain the price of the token so that their victim see a big profit.

Better way is to avoid transacting with tokens that we don't join any giveaways. For sure everyone knows if the tokens are fake or not or at least we've been interacted with. That's the problem with some newbies they thought they received airdrop and when they claimed it their funds gone connecting to a malware or some hackers software.

Thank you for all the replies, I was surprised that I received them at first, because I've never participated anywhere or published this address on any website or platform, didn't know they could actually find addresses otherwise, but guess what, they can.

They looked fishy, I've never participated anywhere, there's no chance someone is giving me free money. First thing I did was to search them up on BscScan, which showed no results, ringing bells inside my head that all of them is a mere scam attempt, I'll just ignore them from now on and try to stick with Yieldwatch, which actually filters these scam tokens.

Probably some other projects you hold do airdrop to your wallet or some random projects doing airdrop to scam gullible people, I also have 2 different tokens in my wallet that I have no idea about them, I was able to know about them through bsc they have no value yet, I doubt if they ever have value, I won't bother myself with them.
