I think Bitcoin is still doing very well in the market, and we can't deny that fact. People who are looking at the current price as low and failing to buy more will be doing themselves more harm when we imagine what the price may be in the next months and years. Comparing Bitcoin to other assets, we can see clearly that Bitcoin is superior, and for holding value, Bitcoin is better.

FYI, this thread is not about BTC price speculation or which asset is superior to other. As you can see from the title, it's about BTC investment ideas by our great JJG.

Quote
The best we can do is a continuous accumulation, perhaps, with the DCA strategy. Provided the a Discretionary income is constantly available, accumulation shouldn't stop. It should be done consistently and HODLing. We are optimistic that it will do better than this. Buy and HODL.

Even when discretionary income is available, sometimes some circumstances may intervene to threat your accumulation. It's normal when it happens and you should not try to force accumulation by all means in those periods because you might be putting the entire plan at risk later. The best thing to do is to make balance to your accumulation either by increasing when you're buoyant and decrease or even pause accumulation when things are tight. Do not buy blindly that you might need to sell later to survive.

Besides understanding the concept of DCA and investment in general, the current conditions for Bitcoin are truly worthy of purchase by anyone, especially during this current price decline, DCA can be quite beneficial. The amount earned will certainly differ when the price changes again this month or next. Furthermore, investors who consistently buy using the DCA concept are clearly enjoying the long-term benefits without worrying or hesitating about the negative conditions they've seen in the market.

I don’t think you understand the concept of DCA because you seem to be emphasizing too much on price decline instead of the whole thing. With DCA you don’t even have any business with whether the price is rising or falling before buying. The whole idea is to build a consistent accumulation habit over time without thinking whether it is the right time to buy or not. If you’re only seeing the importance of DCA when prices are falling, you may eventually get distracted from your main goal of consistent accumulation and start waiting for decline before buying, which of course defeats the purpose of DCA.
In other sense i think @Fara Chan is talking about buying the dip which is not bad to talk about in a time like this that their is a decline in price it is also good to buy bitcoin because the dip also seen as an opportunity to buy bitcoin. Even if DCA strategy has nothing to do with prefer time to buy bitcoin,  but if there is a decline in price the DCA strategy will also make sense for investors to buy bitcoin. Some investors sees the dip to but Bitcoin aggressively using DCA, because they think when their is a decline they can accumulate some amount of bitcoin.

Those who invest in bitcoin with a long term mindset do not really consider short term price movement to be that important. Because a long term bitcoin investor's investment decision should not depend on price predictions such as how much the price of bitcoin has fallen this month or how much it may rise next month.
You are right because since you are building your investment on the long term, you don't need to be monitoring the price or getting concern about whether the price is rising or fallen at any moment. That is none of your business, so why getting concerned about things that could be a distraction to your ongoing long-term accumulation or could make you to start thinking about selling your stash?  Since price movement don't slow your ongoing accumulation or prevent you from accumulating bitcoin, the best thing to do is to concentrate on your ongoing accumulation, focus on figuring out your discretionary income, build your emergency fund alongside your investment to protect it from unexpected occurrence.  Your concern is to be building your investment using your discretionary income and DCA as well as having your emergency fund put in place to secure your investment against Emergency.

When the price of Bitcoin is relatively low it is better to buy more but waiting for the bears is not a good strategy. You need to know that Bitcoin is an asset to invest in now, if you waste time by waiting, you may regret this action in the future. Yet the best way is to accumulate Bitcoin regularly in the DCA method, you must pay attention to this. You know that at the end of the week your discretionary income is very small maybe $50-$100 and in that case it would be wise to start Bitcoin because instead of spending/wasting money badly accumulate Bitcoin for the future.

That long term investors should not be affected by short. Term price moves in all investments. But I think that it still makes sense to review their finances from time to time. Dca can level out the highs and lows. But investors should also take into account adjustments in their income. Expenses and emergency savings. If a person is in a pinch for cash. For instance they might have to postpone buying. And not sell their existing Bitcoins at a loss. Long term investing is not only about riding out. The storms of the market it's also about being able to keep your money in the market without having to sell it when the market is bad.

You can't have discretionary income and be in a situation where you have to pause your investment because discretionary income by definition is money left after the key and pressing issues have been settled.
What you have explained now can be handled by good planning and exactly when the idea of emergency funds was developed. If you have emergency funds set up, when you have challenge that is supposed to make you terminate your accumulation, maybe if you are using the DCA strategy,  then the emergency funds will be activated to take care of that challenge while you continue implement your DCA without stopping.

I agree with you, for those who invest in Bitcoin for the long term, it is more important to monitor the daily market price and pay attention to their financial situation. And if you invest regularly in the DCA method, the impact of price fluctuations can be somewhat managed. However, the investment amount should be such that it is not a problem to invest a small amount from your necessary expenses and the discretionary income that is left after putting it in an emergency fund.
If financial pressure arises, temporarily closing the DCA is not a failure, but sometimes it can be a good decision. Because it is not only how much we are investing to hold our Bitcoin, it is also very important to be financially stable.

A stable and high income is very important for long-term investment. If your income is not high, it will be difficult to separate your discretionary income from that income and when you cannot separate discretionary income for your investment, then naturally you will not be able to invest. I think that along with investment, we should pay maximum attention to how to earn more money. The more money we can earn, the safer our investment will be and it will be easier for us to continue that investment in a long-term plan.
High and stable income is not a prerequisite for starting Bitcoin investment, nor do you need to wait until you become wealthy to accumulate Bitcoin. Instead, what matters more is starting with an amount you can afford and maintaining consistently in your investment over time.

However, a stable income helps to make it easier to manage a long-term investment process. Some people can save something even with a small income and continue to invest with that money.

On the other hand, many people can't save anything even with a large income. So, it is more important to create a healthy balance between income and expenses than the amount of income.

However, one should definitely try to increase income, because this increases investment capacity and reduces financial stress. It is also important to create an emergency fund so that one is not forced to sell Bitcoin in an unexpected situation.

Eventually, higher income can increase investment opportunities, but good financial management helps to utilize that opportunity.

Monitoring the price movement of Bitcoin is not good, or staying glue to the price chart is a wrong approach that no Bitcoin investor that is thinking long term should follow, because market situation might make you panic and you may sell off your investment when you shouldn't have, or you may trade your Bitcoin for small gains, so it's not a wise line of action. It is only traders that should be monitoring the market, since they are only interested in short term gains.

If you have no discretionary income available that week or month ending to continue your accumulation, it's not a bad idea to purse your accumulation until you have it available again, but when it comes to real life emergencies that threatens your Bitcoin investment, then you can address that with your backup funds, because that's the essence of it very existence.

I don't know if people consider the effectiveness of the DCA strategy, why will anyone bother about waiting for the decline of Bitcoin price, people should move past the stage of thinking that the best time for them to buy Bitcoin is during the price drops, we know that there are market realities that Bitcoin can not do without since it is a volatile asset, but that doesn't mean that investors has to wait for the dips before they can buy Bitcoin, and what if these dips does not come when they expect it, and with my knowledge about Bitcoin, no one knows how long the dip will last so what's the need to wait for dips before buying when we can conveniently buy slow and steady using the DCA method that's very efficient and pressure free and hodl for a long-term, I know that some people are good with procrastination, bit advice anyone with that mindset to wait no further, DCA strategy is the way.

Since people are investing in crypto, which is the least risky and most promising among crypto currencies, they have to know a lot before investing and there is no question about it.
You need to correct some things here. You are probably trying to explain Bitcoin by the word "crypto". But it seems quite vague. "The word "crypto" can include any kind of scam, hype, fake project, shitcoin, token, but Bitcoin is completely different. Even if the price of Bitcoin goes down in the short term, it has the possibility of going up again. But most shitcoins get lost in the market by riding the hype.

Off course there's every need for correction because it is totally confusing. Using crypto while referring to Bitcoin explains nothing to newbies and would be newbies. The obvious lines like, less/least ricky and promising cryptocurrency, is what gives a clear standing to someone who isn't a newbie that Bluedrem is referring to Bitcoin if not, Bluedrem just ended up pointing nothing because shitcoins are also part of "crypto".

You’re right not everyone time the discretionary income will be available because they will a be condition that some investors will find themselves they feel like to touch money that is not from their discretionary fund, and that’s anyone who want to be successful person on their investment need to have a better background planning; so that even when the things get rough in process of their accumulation of bitcoins they don’t need to use the funds that is not from their discretionary income or temper their investments.

~snip~
When the price of Bitcoin is relatively low it is better to buy more but waiting for the bears is not a good strategy. You need to know that Bitcoin is an asset to invest in now, if you waste time by waiting, you may regret this action in the future. Yet the best way is to accumulate Bitcoin regularly in the DCA method, you must pay attention to this. You know that at the end of the week your discretionary income is very small maybe $50-$100 and in that case it would be wise to start Bitcoin because instead of spending/wasting money badly accumulate Bitcoin for the future.
Since the criteria for buying is your discretionary income, you could very well buy as many as you can anytime and at any market condition provided you have available your discretionary income.. You already seem to be pretty aware that wasting time is a regrettable action yet you still went on to suggest that bear seasons/dips are the best time to be aggressive, and that's you contradicting yourself...One very disadvantage about basing your aggressiveness on dips is that it is very addictive.  Meaning that it will always want to pull you into anticipating for more dips even though that was never your original intention...And the higher the anticipation goes, the more you begin to see yourself even waiting for the dip to happen before you begin making your buys...And right there, there is no longer consistency anymore... All there is is simply you depending on the occurrence of dips which could very much slow down the pace of your accumulation...The bone of contention is that Investor should never base their aggressiveness on the presence of dips rather their buys should only and always be controlled by the availability of their discretionary income...

Are you proclaiming that because a guy has discretionary income today, an unexpected expense cannot arise tomorrow and cause him to pause his accumulation process ?

You seem not to understand that discretionary income is figured out based on that person’s current financial situation and we all know that circumstances can change inadvertently, so therefore any unexpected expense, reduced income or increased responsibilities can definitely affect how much a guy can be able to put aside to invest when it happens.
Now emergency funds can help to cushion those type of situations, but it’s still not a guarantee that a guy will never likely need to adjust his investment contributions at some point in time.

It’s not a bad thing if a guy reduces or temporarily pauses his DCA contributions when his finances are tight; the whole idea of investment in general is to avoid putting yourself under any financial pressure just to maintain a buying schedule, so there’s no need to make it sound like it’s a taboo to re-strategize when necessary.

Yes, a person can buy in DIP if he has some one-time money. However, if someone wants to hold Bitcoin for a long time and wants to continue investing in the DCA method in that context, then there is no need to wait until the DIP to start investing.
Suppose you start investing with the idea of conducting DCA of Bitcoin for ten years, then during these ten years you will have to observe the different prices of Bitcoin. Sometimes you will have to buy Bitcoin at the highest price and if the price decreases, you will be able to buy Bitcoin at the lowest price. In that case, since 10 years is a long period of time and during this period we will see at least 2.5 cycles of Bitcoin, then the price will definitely not be the same every moment. That is, the price will change, but if you continue the DCA method continuously, you will definitely have to buy Bitcoin at any price.
And yes, I would tell people that if they want to buy Bitcoin in DIP in addition to investing in the DCA system, they can start creating a separate fund from discretionary income in addition to managing the DCA, which creates opportunities to buy in DIP at a later time.

I think you are right, DCA is a viable strategy for D4LITP investors, as no need to speculate the bottom of the market. The market will at some point go down, and that way, the investors can buy dollars worth of Bitcoins at different levels. But I think also that keeping some more cash ready during dips might be advantageous, too. In any case, I believe that a mix of DCA and buying dips if possible is good for the long run. The major thing is to be consistent and patient.

But why will a bitcoin investor that is only thinking about how to hold his investment very strong be monitoring the market, when their are high chances that it may tempt him to sell because of fear? I don't advice any Bitcoin investor to be monitoring the market because it's not worth. Your duty as a Bitcoin investor is to just be buying consistently and hold, because doing things that traders does, like monitoring the market will only result into selling off your holdings, so stop doing that for the sake of your mental health, if you don't want to sell off your investment too early.

If one is consistently accumulating Bitcoin, then buying the dip is nothing to talk about because there is no way Bitcoin won't be bought. The most important thing is to adopt a DCA strategy to invest in Bitcoin; it will help one buy Bitcoin regardless of the price. Investors who focus on accumulating Bitcoin consistently buy in every dip, while those who are overly concerned about the dip may ignore some dips, especially when there is an event affecting the market. They may think the price of Bitcoin will dip further just to buy at the bottom, but consistent investors using the DCA strategy don't discriminate in their buying.
