Hello,
I have been betting at Nitrogensports.eu for a month or two and didn't have any problems, until tonight, when something completely unfair happened which still baffles my mind.
I was watching the NBA game Philadelphia-Miami. During the first time-out Miami was leading 11-9 and I liked a gamble on Miami at odds of 4.15. I knew they were missing several key players but still like a gamble on them, but this is the reason why the odds were so high. Those odds were slightly above the market average but surely not out of range. For example I saw Betcris had 3,80, Pinnacle had 3,90, Betfair had 4,00 and Betonline.ag had 4.20. So Nitrogensports were among the highest, but not even the highest of all bookmakers. I would have normally placed the bet at Betonline.ag but I just had no more funds in there as I had spent it on other pending bets already. So I placed the bet at Nitrogensports.eu at 4.15 odds with 38.5 mbtc stake. The game went well for me and Miami extended their lead. At the break the lead was 58-49. At this time I decided to cover up my bet a little cause I wanted to spread the risk a bit. I bet 36.6 mbtc on Philadelphia @ 2,05 odds so that I would have covered my stake in case Philadelphia would still win. Then, after the break Miami played even better and soon took a 23-point lead, somewhere around the end of the 3rd quarter. The bet was basically won for 99% at that point. But then to my massive surprise and horror I suddenly saw my balance increasing. Then I checked my bets and the bet on Miami had been settled at odds of 1.00....it was void! Right at the moment when it was a sure winner. I received a message that the bet was void because a technical error occured and odds were not updated for a couple minutes. This is something I had no idea about since I just looked at the odds during the time-out and was not monitoring the odds in the minutes before that. Despite the fact that I find this hard to believe as the odds were really in line with other bookmakers as I explained above, they later stated the actual intended odds were 2.90. Instead of immediately voiding they let my bet stand until it was a 99% sure winner (at that point odds on Miami were 1.01). They had fixed their error already a long time before the void as they were already offering odds on the event. I have a strong feeling they waited until the bet would be a winner and would not have void if the bet lost. Apart from that, the fairer solution would be to settle the bet at odds 2.90. And to make it even worse, they did not void the cover up bet I placed on Philadelphia at halftime. So now instead of a nice win, I ended up with a void and loss.
Absolutely unacceptable behaviour and I want Nitrogensports to explain themselves about this. How the hell do you think this is fair business?
I feel like I am robbed here and immediately withdrew all my remaining balance and will never play at Nitrogensports again unless this gets solved in a fair manner.
So if they do not offer a suitable solution, I advice everyone to stay away from Nitrogensports as they void odds that look totally normal and nobody could have know they were not intended to be offered. This could happen to ANYONE and with Nitrogen they have zero courtesy or sympahty. All they do is copy/paste some stupid rules like a machine. With other crypto books such as Sportsbet and Betcoin they at least have some human eye and offer some solution in a case like this.
Complaints: - making the customer pay for the error of the company - waiting until the end of the 3rd quarter to void when the supposed technical error was made about 40 mins before that - not wanting to settle the bet at the intended odds - not wanting to credit back the stake of the cover-up bet which now lost, when it's absolutely clear I would not have placed that bet if the bet was void earlier - only giving me standard replies with some copy paste of rules, with no eye for the human aspect
In my opinion rules for voids are ONLY suitable when there is a clear error made. In this case the odds were not visible wrong and therefore the people betting on this line were not in the wrong. This should play a role in the decision to void or not. Voids should only be the case when an obvious error has been made (such as reversing odds or having the comma wrong in the odds i.e. offering odds of 11.0 instead of 1.10 etc) and the customers are clearly trying to take advantage of it.
Oh and btw: I later heard from someone else that Betonline.ag were not childish about it and paid out on their 4.20 odds. They use the same odds supplier as Nitrogensports (but with a slightly better margin) and are a much more mature sportsbook at least. Also another proof that this void is not just the decision of the odds provider, but definitely also a decision of Nitrogensports themselves.
