What's mentioned is the indication. If the price drops down to $40k, then it'll take time for recovery. There is good momentum around $40k, however the price has been declining gradually and now it has come down to $42k. Around a week back similar move happened and slowly took phase and reached $43k. We can't get into conclusion about the market, because the real trend hasn't started.

what do you expect? people have high expectations esp those newcomers. if they haven't experienced the 20k+ level, they will surely be disappointed with the price today. but if they look at the big picture and compare it with the previous years, they will be grateful for what we have today. and with the increasing adoption, we are still very positive that the price will be heading to bullish direction. but when? no one can tell.

People don't compare the BTC price in January 2022 with BTC price in January 2021, people compare it with the latest BTC ATH. Since there is a prediction that BTC price to reach $100k, most people still expect that BTC can make another ATH at least. So, people expect the sign of another ATH to begin in the early of this year, unfortunately BTC price is decreasing and looks hard to increase more. It's normal to Bitcoin that has a correction and I think it's not yet a negative result yet we are still on a bullish trend.
Look around and listen to the news, most countries are now accepting, investing, and making Bitcoin a legal tender which sounds good in the long term.

I have been years observing the Bitcoin price since 2017 and I've confirmed that Bitcoin continuously grows and yes, there will be a better market soon but there's no time frame for that.  I like those people who have faith in Bitcoin and didn't get easily panic selling, they are true crypto enthusiasts.

I’d rather not look for patterns. Let the price increase when it increases and decrease when it decreases. Just recently, I have also read that the end of the year is normally good for Bitcoin. And it's normal. Dips could happen just as much as pumps could always happen, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. I'd consider not having dips to be the one indicator that's something is very very wrong with the market and would consider some external factors (other than natural ones) having an effect on the market.

Nothing wrong either with the market going through dark days, after all, more buy opportunities for people who want to enter the market and for people who want to invest more. Just look at the bright side of things and you wouldn't really get affected by FUD.

You are wrong because different years have been different.
Additionally what you call "miserable" is your point of view otherwise as far as altcoins go, the dumps are their natural expected behavior that happens all days every year. And as far as bitcoin goes this is just a dip to accumulate cheap coins under the intrinsic value.

Majority of cryptocurrencies are not going to recover, just like majority of them including the top 20 alt coins never recovered from their dumps in 2018 even though 4 years has passed.

I remember that a year ago, when the bitcoin price reached the top of 41k, I was surprised and sold part of my COINS, so we are now at the top of what was happening in the past year.
You may be pessimistic due to excessive optimism that the price will break the $100K barrier by the end of the year, but the time is still early, as we are a month late from the peak that occurred in December of 2017, and about two months from 2013, so waiting for another two months will not be bad.

Don't forget that getting past the top to $69,000 won't take much time.

The lowest bitcoin price during this month's decline was at $40k and currently the bitcoin price is still at $41k so it is unlikely that there will be a further decline beyond the low during this downturn, as bitcoin has tried several times so far to return to its previous price but bitcoin can only last $43k-$44k, so I agree with your opinion that the price of bitcoin will gradually rise again.

Bitcoin has sustain its price at $41k since its value is always on the range between $41k to $43k and then its drops again. So for me, bitcoin is not yet totally bullish or even bearish on its part. But knowing the market is anticipating for the incoming bear season, then there will be high chances that bitcoin will still fall deeper on the next few days. It will only recover if there will be positive news that can trigger to push the price, and once the bear season will be over.

Recovery could still happen, we are inside the first 3 weeks of the whole year, we have 49 more weeks to come. Do not be hopeless about the crypto prices this quickly. This doesn't mean that it will be a great year, we could still go under 20k and have a horrible year and fail to go above 20k for rest of the year, who knows? Personally I cannot see how a price above 40k can be considered to be bad for bitcoin, that is more than twice the previous ATH reached in 2017, bitcoin is doing fine, it is impossible that an asset grows every single day, there must be some corrections along the way and that is what we are experimenting, to me this is not something worth worrying about, and if they are, then if the price goes down even more then it could become almost impossible for those people to keep holding their coins.
