5700 XT giving me trouble with temps

Any help regarding my reference 5700 XT would be appreciated.
It started developing huge temperatures on the memories a few days ago. I took it to an IT solutions guy to clean it up/apply new paste and pads(I'm really bad with that stuff), I think he did a good job, gpu temp and hotspot temps are way lower, but the memories are still flaring up(although less than they used to). Hashrate is fine, as in it doesn't get hot enough to throttle performance like it did before I had it cleaned.



I'm using custom timings to hash at 55 mh

-cvddc 780
-mclock 1780
fans stable at 65%

I tried lowering mclock but didn't seem to affect temps. I don't wanna raise fan power because the rig is in my house and the blower makes too much noise.
Any ideas would be appreciated. I tried looking into aftermarket coolers but they all seem to be out of stock globally. Even then I'm not sure how much they would affect memory temps.

What video card do you have? Some 5700 XT models had very poor cooling. 65% fan speed with your results is very good.
If you don't like noise, then consider water cooling. A simpler option is additional cooling from the side and top with quiet coolers.

Sapphire 5700xt reference. Water cooling is too expensive and a huge hassle for me. The overall temps are pretty good I agree but memories go to 90 degrees celsius. Will additional fans on the sides and on top affect memory temps?

set ram to 1600 see mh and temp after 2-3 hours

then

set ram to 1400 see mh and temp after 2-3 hours

if you drop to 50mh and 75 temp ot 80 temp it is worth it.you have to wait for a few hours time to be sure of temps.

Hmmm my memory clocks can't be lowered below 1750 for some reason. Could it be the BIOS mod causing that?

flashed back original bios, temps are the same if not worse, still can't go below 1750 memory clock on any program

If I'm not mistaken, anything under 95 degrees for your memory is considered "safe" from damage.  Anything under 106 degrees isn't supposed to cause damage.  So I wouldn't be too worried about it.  As others have stated, you should be able to lower settings (I'd try a different software program, maybe afterburner) if you want to figure that out.

Personally, I would just up the fan from 65% to 90% and see what happens.  Is there something keeping you from increasing the fan speed?  That seems the obvious solution unless you are trying to keep the noise down.

A quick google search indicates that your temps are quite good, so honestly I wouldn't worry too much about it.  If you are worried, increase that fan or setup another fan pointing at the back side of the card.

I tried straight from amd program, afterburner, minerstat and via phoenixminer. Nothing works, it won't go below 1750. Also tried on overdriventool, won't take anything below 1750.

Noted, though I'm still looking for a different solution if some has any ideas. It may be good now but during summer it's going to be even higher.

try sapphire trixx it may let you go lower.

also asus has a tool for clocking.

What doesn't go lower in OC softwares on windows OS can easily go lower in hive OS, I think OP should consider hive OS for his AMD graphic cards, they are more happier on that OS

try undervolting the memory. the stock setting is 1 volt and I think my Samsungs run at 700mv and the microns at 750mv. You should notice a decent temp drop and save on some power usage.

it won't let me undervolt the memory either

i will try hiveos, i will keep you posted on whether it lets me underclock/undervolt

This looks safe to me it seems this is how 5700XT is designed, they can handle high temp on vram so don't worry and keep mining, here is a pic from a friend's rig

The first 5700xt in your image doesn't look safe to me because it's mem temp is over 90°C as you can see even hiveOS turned red which means danger, the highest safe vram temp on 5700XT is between 70°C and 85°C
