Unfortunately you got carried away by your profit and didn't protect it with stoploss or your leverage is high. You got lucky the first time but didn't the next time and that is the trick of the market, giving you some and taking all lol. Maybe a lesson to you that care is needed in the market of trading, always you have to adopt the using of stoploss than profit.

I have traded both BTC/USDT and also altcoin/USDT pairs on futures and from my experience it is safer to stick with BTC/USDT futures trading. Although not as profitable as some alt pairs in the short run but with a good trading strategy and patience, it is much more profitable to use BTC/USDT pairs for trading futures. One of the worst Altcoins to use for futures trading are the meme coins. Now I stick with BTC.

That is why our elders give us lesson that do not enter in a field about which you not got enough knowledge otherwise you will face loses and problems. He not learned about these strategies in trading future and entered there thinking to be rich.
There are many online books and many experts you will find to learn from them. If you do after that then at least you will not loss all of what you have in your wallet.

In the trading future? Actually, I stopped trading future several months ago because I learned several things and some reasons.
But at that time, I prefer to trade altcoins in the future trading market than Bitcoin.
I commonly would trade the altcoins that have a small price under 1$.
I didn't know the exact reason for this. But, I thought that it might give me bigger earnings than Bitcoin or other altcoins that have high prices
they are such as CTSI and others. I cannot say it which coins because it will be different per day for the market is also volatile enough

I would still prefer trading well-established coins. My priority will be Bitcoin and top altcoins because based on my experience, their high volatility could give a higher chance of gaining a bigger profit. Bitcoin will be a good option but some altcoins are good for day or even future trading. Sometimes the profit will still rely on our skills.

I don't do futures but with those that I've seen doing it and most of their trades win, they're setting the highest to 10x and that's like the maximum that they're putting. Most of the pair that I've seen their trading is the usual btc/usdt pair. Others that have I seen are like with sol/usdt and egld/usdt. I admire those folks that have been living with trading futures. Maybe someday that I'll explore more of it and I'll start to get on it but for the meanwhile, I'm good with the spot and I'm not ready yet to go with those times of leverage.

It is exciting for me because BNB movements sometimes are wild and can give nice profit

I have used many altcoins before, even BNB is among the altcoin I have paired with USDT in future trading, it gives better result too but I have becoming to like BTC. BNB is more volatile than BTC also.

Yep, BNB is more volatile than BTC and that means you have a chance to make a profit while you also have a chance to get the risk.
Trade using BTC pair USDT is also a good option because BTC now tends to move fast and when the price has stable or not moved to anywhere, that will be a time for us to take a break.
Be prepared if you are not shorting from the last high price because if bitcoin can bounce up in the next few hours or tomorrow, you can prepare your Long if the price shows a sign to increase.
It will be good for us because the next increases can be higher than the last high price at $45k.

The safest way is to trade Bitcoin and top altcoins and that's without a doubt,

Bitcoin dump again maybe if you have money you can buy right now, still not doubt for investing with bitcoin or altcoin but always check worth altcoin for investing, I am holding bitcoin in my wallet and hope can back above $60,000 because I have few bitcoin in my wallet. I think need patience right now with cryptocurrency investment because bitcoin not stable and price some time pump and dump, waiting maybe next month have good moment for bitcoin.

Honestly the future world doesn't really seems to be something that I could ever feel comfortable about.
Not saying that it would be impossible for me to make a profit there, or anyone, we have seen people making profit many times in the future world.

However, as we all know majority of the people in the futures market ended up losing money and that number keeps growing all the time as well.

So, I just assumed that I would be one of those people and I wouldn't be able to make any profit at all.
Not saying that I would be horrible at understanding it, but the fear factor involved may make me trade with emotions which is a big no no in the trading world.

Actually I have multiple trades some are ALTCOIN/USDT and BTC/USDT when I am trading with leverage it doesn't matter if it is BTC or Altcoins I only trade on coins that I'm sure (not that sure but, higher chance) that I can predict it right but still I use a lower leverage with a maximum of 5x leverage and every trades I only use 3-5% of my total capital.

So it doesn't matter of altcoin/usdt or BTC/usdt it depends on my analysis which coins could I get good profit or what coin has a good entry or more clear about what the graph is printing about the market.

My favorite pair for trading futures is the BTC/USDT pair particularly because it ones of the very few pairs that has a low volatility compared to altcoins that can swing heavily in either direction like it's nothing. After getting a position here, there's some altcoin pairs I do enjoy trading with leverages too.

They include:
- BNB/USDT : BNB always tends to come back stronger after every dip so I'm always keeping an eye on that one.
- NEAR/USDT : similar to BNB, only difference is that BNB always seems the one leading relive rallies and bull runs (whether long or short term)
- SAND/USDT: Apart from the fact that it's an interesting Metaverse token and since Metaverse is a strong trend, that's the reason why I trade this pair.

I trade other pairs but not as often as these.

For me my favourite when it come trading futures its either bitcoin or ethereum because i know how they always performed when there's a clear trend.. Unlike altcoins wherein so volatile and there's always a fake outs that can cause stop out.. And of course trading future i used the same TP or SL as a risk management because future is very risky way to make passive incom and you will be liquidited if you don't have such thing.

^ You are on the right path because usually altcoins now that have made of hype not just by their use.
BTC/USDT or BTC/ETH is the perfect choice because you know it is safe in trading. Though it is very volatile at least you know that you are safe because there is a chance that due to the fluctuation you will earn profit. I hate using high leverage because that is very risky, there is no need to be greedy, you must study first if that coin was pumped because of the hype.

Firstly I know we might be having some newbies in the forum, I will firstly advise them not to just go into future trading just like that till they understand the way it works because is easier to lose money in future trading than in sport trading and if you are going into future trading I believe you should be careful with the laverage you are using, higher laverage will get you liquidated easily compare to lower laverage.
Am not really into future trading because I prefer spot trading but whenever am trading future I always go for ALTCOIN/USDT

Bitcoin price is volatile but altcoins price are more volatile, future trading can be leveraged up to 100x for bitcoin and coins like ethereum while 50x for other available altcoins. Which coins have you been using and which is bringing you profit?

What I mean is BTC/USDT or ALTCOIN/USDT.

I think what that matters is the leverage used, but I have been experiencing liquidation at 3x leverage for altcoins in extreme volatile market, when I calculated it for bitcoin, the trading fund would not have liquidated if i used bitcoin because the liquidation price is still most of the time far from the price.

I will not talk more about manipulation because I have seen bitcoin future market price manipulated in a way many people's coins are liquidated in just few minutes, but I think I have seen it happened in bitcoin future market ones on the exchange I am using but this happened frequently with altcoins in volatile market.

Well bitcoin or altcoins all of them having big volatility right now so it's better to buy when it's low and sells it back at your desired price. If you want to use leverage it's better if you have experience from it and big capital of course because it's really high return and high risk. First time I used it I lost more than 700$ right away because I still learn how it works lmao.

It is not any trick that he made to apply .He just enter on the market and luckily he made a few profit with high leverage and surely as he lost the next one .It could be a try on Demon not on the real market .Why he is trying this kind of trade with his real money ,i don't get it .At last he has lost his fund what he has .,I always suggest to trade on Demo first after getting a good experience and confident try it on the real market .Hope you can recover your fund on next time .Don't forget that trading is a tough way of earning if you don't know it ,Don't try it like gambling you may loose your all fund mate .

I could still losing 80% of my portofolio without leverage , cant really imagine doing the leverage trading with the long term one.
In a volatile market in crypto i just think leverage with 5x at tops are the standard , the rest of it could be considered as a speculation which it's not healthy at all for your financial situation.

I can't stand the risk of getting liquidated very quickly while trading future that was why I totally avoid trading future, however the best pair for high leverage trading is BTC/USDT being the most highly volatile pair while majority of other altcoins are driven by the movement of the price of bitcoin. I am presently satisfied with trading  Isolated margin due to it lower risk though small profit is usually earned, I am very contended with it, I have the opportunity of managing my trades without any fear and emotions, bearing in mind that trading requires skills, the more the skill the better for future traders.

We are more the Altcoins the more money you will make within a short period of time though remember that anytime negative can happen to your entire capital within that same short period of time is care is not taking. Generally, future trading is very risky and one need to trade with care even if you are trading Bitcoin.
