Just solely looking at the domain itself makes me think that the exchange is a scam or at the very least, shady or amateurishly-ran. Any reason why you're even wanting to try out this exchange? Because there's literally no reason to test out new or less well-known exchanges, unless it's literally the only local exchange available.

EDIT: taking a look at the "exchange", yea lmao it's an easy pass for me.

LOL, Definitely a scam. Why would you need to cash in if you already have that much amount on the website. I might probably believe it if they ask for Identification but I'll also doubt it even if they ask for identification.

Let me try and do a quick google search on that site.

Edit: Website looks like any a new token website. For me, I'll stay away at this exchange site and try somewhere else.

Any service asking you make a deposit to be able to make a withdrawal is 99.99% scam.

I might probably believe it if they ask for Identification but I'll also doubt it even if they ask for identification.
Why should you believe them if they ask for identification?
If they ask you to verify your identity, it would even increase the risk of using their service. There's a big probability that they abuse your documents or sell them.

That's fake. Why don't you tell them to deduct whatever minimum deposit they are asking to the 3.65 BTC you supposedly own. I bet they will come up with a lot of reasons why they cannot do that hehe. They even have to guts to place an address just to make them look legitimate and fool other people.

If the OP has never dealt with this site, then, he should know that this is a typical scam tactic.
There's no doubt  they are just looking for some naive users that will fall to their bait.
I checked the trustpilot, no reviews or feedback. We have seen this scamming technique countless times.
If he deposits any amount, he will not get it back. So better not entertain these scammers.

The domain is 2 and 1/2 months old which is pretty early to decide if it scam or not but for me, I couldn't trust a new website maybe after a year with already reputation here on the forum.

Look at the whois

Code:
Domain:bitex.financial
Registrar:NameCheap, Inc.
Registered On:2021-11-24
Expires On:2022-11-24
Updated On:2021-11-29

It's also registered on Namecheap and all other details are private.

Another thing that I noticed is that after checking the whole source code of that website it's a WordPress website and it is designed with a plugin Elementor to make it looks like a trading site. I never heard of any trusted exchange site that uses WordPress except for other exchange that only uses WordPress for blogging purposes.

How did you find this website?

Based on their Off-page SEO or backlinks record they only have 1 recorded backlink so not yet been posted to any website but they already got 50k visits according to similarweb.

Wait a minute, you've been here in the forum for around 7 years, why does it sound like you're just a newbie? Not to mention that, based on your bitcointalk account, you're probably immersed in crypto well enough, at least enough for you to understand the technicalities of mining, so why the noob question? And you've just logged in after 5 years of inactivity to ask this question?

Anyway, that's 99.9% a scam. Come to think of it, you haven't even heard of the exchange, how come you've got that number of BTC in there?

Very common scamming method that for some reason managed to scam a good number of people lol. You'd figure that with that 3.65 BTC, it should be able to cover the so-called "withdrawal fees".

Not to mention that, based on your bitcointalk account, you're probably immersed in crypto well enough, at least enough for you to understand the technicalities of mining, so why the noob question? Anyway, that's 99.9% a scam. Come to think of it, you haven't even heard of the exchange, how come you've got that number of BTC in there?

Because it could be possible. I mined for last time on 2016, i was selling stuff until 2017. Last operations maybe were not converted on cash and let the money on a abandoned wallet. Maybe.

I will try to explain this story: One day, i received a call, from Malmö (at least my mobile told me it was from Malmö). They asked me, in spanish language, if i was [Put my real name and surname here].
- "YES, who are you?" i asked her.
- "I am calling from bitex.financial. You have an old deposit with us and it will be lost if you do not login in 30 days".
- "I need to know the original source of this funds, because i never hearted about you" i answered.
- "Well, it's yours the mail [put my real email address here]?" asked her
- "Yes" (Damn, she is wight again).
- "So, what about to send you a mail to recover your access and then, you decide what you want to do?"
- "Well, if i don't know the source of this funds, i will not be able to recover them anyway. Yes, send me the mail" i answered
- "Allright, let's do this step first". closed her
One day later i received the mail and used the link: BALANCE: 3.65 BTC (Shit, it cannot be real).

Let's go to 2017. My last stuff i selled was for 4.000€ and it was made with more than one operation, so it could be real IF this guys are the latest owners of some old wallet.
Damn, now i seem a newby. If someone ask me if i think this is scam, i would say "Probably YES, don't put any money"
So i called them again. And, i talked with them 4 more times.
They said me the source of the money was MT4 and i don't know what the hell is that
Also, they said me they are a Swiss company and they have some country taxes to pay to let me transfer the BTC. This money must be send from the customer to the swiss bank (and it is 5.5%). There is another comision and it can be deduced from BTC (0.5%). And last surprise, minimal amount to let be moved must be 0.5 BTC...

Now i belive this is an SCAM, but it is a very well done SCAM. And my heart would like to think it could be possible to don't be an SCAM if i could belive on them. For that, i need to know anyone else who worked with them without issues. Because of that i came here and seemed a newby (and it is what i seem right now)  Roll Eyes

Thank you very much, this site is as great as when i was an active miner.

Asking a deposit to withdraw your fund is enough to call them a scammer. No need for further investigation. No matter its exchange or wallet, any legit platform wouldn't ask for a deposit to withdraw funds. Its become a common scam method and mostly newbies are targeted there. So please stay away and lock your thread. Otherwise, someone else would try it lol.

Anyway, it's good that you're back in the forum. Welcome back aboard. And you've done a nice job coming back after five years of inactivity just to consult users here regarding this obvious scam. You must have been convinced that it's a scam with the help of the responses here.

Of course, your heart would like to think it to be real. That must be the goal of scams. To somehow make you feel there is indeed that big amount waiting for you. But why the expiration? If the money is yours, it must be given to you anytime.

And the scammers are asking way too much. Greedy scammers! 0.5BTC is not to be given away easily. They should have asked for a much smaller amount if they wanted to succeed.

Thank you for all your responses. This site is as i remember it, great with people helping each other. I must admit that I have felt like mining again, hehe

I saw hashnest is closed, so no way to mining again. In Spain, electricity costs so much now, 0.25€/Kw, also i saw my well aprecied colos at Cryptoboreas is closing, too, so i think i will stay out for the moment. I have 2 friends doing something with cryptos, so i will have an eye here hehe.

Thank you all!

Unfortunately, the only true cloud mining, i.e. the Hashnest, no longer exists. They mentioned that maybe they will come back with a similar project, but as far as I know, nothing is officially known for now.
Hundreds of other cloud minings have appeared since 2016, and they've all turned out to be a scam, so don't be fooled if someone offers you easy pasive income.

The point is not in calculating profits or losses or others, but any platform that asks the user to deposit an amount to get another amount is considered scam.

Therefore, you should avoid these platforms because they will try to deceive you, they can update their database to indicate that you own 100 bitcoins, but unless those currencies are on the blockchain, their value is zero.

Unfortunately, social attacks increase greed as they can tell if you bought Bitcoin several years ago and forgot to make things more logical.

I will try to explain this story: One day, i received a call, from Malmö.....

Your info must have been leaked somewhere. You might get a clearer picture if you check with websites like haveibeenpwned.com and intelx.io. There's a fair chance you'll receive similar scam attempts in the future as well. Unless necesarry, try not to click any links from your emails. It's also a good time to familiarize yourself with phishing scams in case you haven't already. I'd also check if there are important accounts relying on SMS 2fa or anything that could log you in using the same number cause it must be revoke, see sim swapping incidents for instance.

To be more precise, hashnest has exit scammed... they've gone MIA for months without fully reimbursing their users. We have waited enough and so it's safe to arrive at that conclusion. Although I doubt they'll come back again, but if ever that happens, it's best to not touch any of their services anymore @OP. This has been said a lot before but the whole cloud mining business sits in the extremely high risk area.

Comparing your self to others is not right they say but id say it depends. It can be good for you if you will use others are your motivation and should not be a way for you to stress your self because that can affect you on how to improve your own life. Showing that your account has a balance should not be enough to convince you that a site is legit but it only becomes true the moment you withdraw that money successfully and it arrives in your wallet.

Anyone can create a fake coin and these coins can also be search on the blockchain but i think the difference is their contract address, we should always compare it to the original coin.

Good point, how to improve your own life. I enjoied a lot my miner past, sure. Now, i cannot afford the stress cost.
About wallet, it smells scam. They never showed a wallet number. In some time, i will update this post to see if they are still alive or not.

Thanks, yesterday, in a launch with friends, i was talking about the mining times  Smiley
