I prefer YouTube and find it more detailed,informative and you can get videos of all topics,subjects, sports. Tiktok on other hand is more like entertainment, dancing funny videos like it is just restricted to that and I find it waste of time.  As everyone is busy nowadays we all prefer to utilise our free time in something productive.

I chose YouTube, because the videos are more complete. There are lots of useful videos on YouTube. Not only that, YouTube has also become a place full of information.

No doubt youtube is more detailed and informative as compare to TikTok, videos on YouTube covers small details than TikTok that are small clips and are now limited to entertainment and dancing and funny clips. Both of them have their fan following depending on moods and taste of people.

I never knew about either TikTock or Jewtube Shorts until my kid started to watch them.  They are both utter mind-poison and it rather quickly started to turn my kid into a much less pleasant child.  I switched her over to Beavis and Butthead which, by 2023 standards, passes for the height of cultural taste and intellectual rigor.  30 years ago I could never have imagined that that would one day be the case, but it is what it is.

At least we have Masha and Bear...for now until the current mainstream controllers of the goyish content uptake figure out that it is there, is slightly impacting their plans for a full Idiocracy (with a lot more trans-pedo-fagotry and kiddie grooming), and sanction it as 'Russian Propaganda' or 'hate' or whatever.

I also prefer YouTube, there are clips of great interest and video sizes that suit everyone, but TikTok is like fast food that does not benefit much.

It is that there is not even room for comparison to the extent that you do it, who is better, just because a service makes video does not mean that they can be fully compared.

TT positioned itself in the competition for vertical videos in a way that YT did not, but in the long run YT is taking a segment there, then it surely ends up dominating.

Talking about the quality of the content is another story, but as a platform in a global consumer sense, YT is better.

I'm glad I never installed Tiktok. CCP spying aside, I think most of it is kinda dumb, mostly just kids trying to do "challenges" and claim their 3 minutes of fame. Youtube does have silly creators as well but as long you keep away from those, there are plenty of interesting channels to follow. On top of my head is Tasting History, Townsends, City Beautiful, etc...

I totally understand the addiction for relatively short videos that go directly to the main point and are entertaining at the same time. It's not all dances and challenges, there is ton of good and fun content.
But at the same time it's totally spyware and China is not even denying it. Because they don't need to, it's not like people care or are against it so much they would leave.

So yeah, i have installed it into my other phone i am using to test stuff to see what's the fuss is about and i get it. But not in the million years i would install it in my actual phone.

Also youtube has way more diversity in content and ton of professionally created material.

Preferably for me Youtube this is because YouTube have been here long enough and have provides a lot of information on several topic in a virtual manner that are shared by different YouTubers, even though tiktok is trending, it can't meet up with the standards youtube have set and how many databases both have.

So we can't compare the two of them as their are not in the same category and since YouTube has existed longer than Tiktok it is easier for them to gain the trust and admiration of many users.

The Chinese don't allow their people to watch TikTok.  Zuckerberg doesn't let his kids on Facebook.  So I've heard anyway.  I would guess that most of my former peers in Silicon Valley would not let their kids near Youtube Shorts.  Seems to be a pattern here.  The content is retard-chow, and 'you are what you eat.'   That's even before the woke grooming component which is truly disturbing and amazingly effective, so it seems as I watch society evolve.

I prefer YouTube over TikTok.
Probably it is because I have never used TikTok and I grew up using YouTube. I also do not like the fact TikTok is a Chinese company which likely has links to the Communist Chinese Party.

In the end, it is kinda about who one would rather to have one's personal information and (in my opinion) the Chinese government have politized in a more brutal way the mass surveillance of their population, to the point I would avoid to give them any about me if possible.  At least in the United States, there are some legal mechanisms to try to stop or slow down Authocracy meeting Technology.

Depending on what you will use it for.
For social videos and entertainment, I prefer TikTok but for serious vedio contents and development videos, YouTube is far better than TikTok.
Most promoters prefer YouTube due to its professionalism and quality video contents that is why most influencers use YouTube to promote good projects related to Bitcoin and crypto.

And these are being consumed by most kids and teenagers, that's why it's no good when I am seeing those videos there. Not all are just for entertainment but I do see some that are for educational. But that's it, the majority of the content there is for trends and just for fun and that's why there's no essence that a kid will get there but useless content. Even those kids have made their lives end when they're following the trend that's why some of the content makers there are irresponsible and making that place bad for kids if they ever consume content there. While both platforms are now vast, I also prefer YouTube. I may not that be old enough to understand the trends why the younger ones like TikTok so much but I do like YT more.

YouTube is good and more detailed plus you can get things on every topic but tiktok is little fast and more of entertainment I think so .
Personally I go for YouTube for surfing as I find it organized and detailed.

I agree with you YouTube is good social media app. We can get all type of information from this youtube beacuse Creative content is available on YouTube. YouTube gave job to thousand of people earning money for creating videos. According to User interest YouTube artificial intelligence work on it and first page of YouTube of every person is different from other according to user watch history and interest. If someone search for cryptocurrencies related video YouTube shows all types of matches which are wish of uers YouTube only shows that information that this person likes and very similar to Crypto. But TikTok is not this type of social media app and not filter information like YouTube. YouTube content is helpful for our society and every country

YouTube has enough to learn from if you are the type that loves knowledge and entertainment. As fro TikTok I see it as something irrelevant that wouldn't add any value to me because it is all about some video that looks fun sometimes and most people will spend their time looking at this videos and wasting their data. I believe that TikTok is not for me because it doesn't worth my data. One man food is another man's poison,I deleted the TikTok app in my phone because the moment my neighbor gets hold of my phone it is tiktok that she will open first.
