[COLDKEY] Project status on the 25th Augu 2022 -- revving up after the crisis 🚀

Hello everyone,

During these wintery times, I have a very important update to share with you.

I have decided that as of block #768,000, I effectively step down as project leader regarding Coldkey.

Being good at some very specific things doesn't automatically makes you good at other less specific things.
I'm good at making great cold storage wallets, but I'm not so good at delivering them.

From now on, I'll keep it at just coding and making Coldkeys.

I am pleased to announce to you that cygan will be taking the lead of the project.
cygan brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table, and I'm confident that he will lead our project to even greater success in the future.

I see it like satoris. There are pre-fork and post-fork satoris.
There are Coldkeys that have been made in some "early" period in the life of Coldkey, and there will be many more to come after these changes.

We are working together to bring everything back in order.
Everything that is still "pending" will be addressed and made good on in the best delays.

I am commited to make some of the best and meaningful physical crypto with a high level of quality.

at this point i would also like to thank yogg, who has put his trust in me 100% and believes in me as i in turn believe in yogg and his fantastic project.
the most important thing and i say this in the name of ColdKey is that all orders that are still open will be 100% processed and shipped ... no ColdKey customer will be left in the lurch

also there will be a new website soon and there are already more ColdKey editions in planning
let us surprise you and rock the year 2023 together with ColdKey

I would like to hope all past coldkeys get taken care of first before new editions are made.

There are people above claiming to be waiting for coldkeys from 2019.

I am currently waiting for 25 cards myself - 20 of which I was told were done and ready to ship almost 2 months ago.

Again - love coldkeys but before jumping forward, I would hope it gets caught up first.

Congratulations cygan! So the coldkey project gets a new and good man at the top. I'll keep my fingers crossed that progress will now be made and that the project will receive new upwind. Will definitely recommend you in the future if anyone asks me about it. I wish you much success.

I’m not sure if you are aware of the owed cards to me from @yogg but I’m happy to forward you the many years worth of DM’s I've received over the last few years relating to the cards owed/ “In hand ready to be shipped next week” etc.

I honestly have no idea what was supposed to be sent at this point as it was literally years waiting - giving yogg the time he needed to “get it together”.

I’ll forward you the many DMs and hopefully you can help figure out what I'm owed, and hoping you can ship out.

Don't get me wrong, but regarding *this* project I hardly see any positive future whatsoever.
Believe me, it took me 5+ hours yesterday night to read, research and decide on this matter. Peeling the cards I designed felt like cutting your own skin. So I feel your struggle.
But after sleeping a night on it, things are very clear for me. This probably not only has effects on ck cards but on the whole collectible space, particularly maker-generated key projects. Sucks but it's the hard truth.

My heart goes out to all artists affected and to anyone who lost directly (funds stolen / never funded cards) or indirectly by reducing the collectible value of cold keys. And to any makers that are true to their craft and honest and now suffer additional trust-issues from the get-go.
BUT, as minerjones said in the other thread (where I'll be writing a "summary" just to kind of sort my thoughts later today), maker-funded-collectibles are actually the opposite of what decentralized crypto stands for. Hate to admit it, but yes, that's a fact.

i would now like to take the floor...

first of all i want to tell you that i have nothing to do with the hack and i know how bad and depressed every ck holder and those who collect crypto-collectibles feel (i feel the same way you do!).
as you all know i, like you, loved project Coldkey and their beautiful cards and collected them with passion.
but when yesterday yogg burst the bombshell, a world has gone down for me.
about 2 months ago i got a call from yogg, we had a very good talk and got along very well before and after. he offered me the ceo position and said that i would be the right person for the project as he can only do the technical things as well as the production and is very talented in this sector. i as ceo then had the task to bring the project back on the old good track and then push it forward step by step.
i was also already in contact with various makers... there were already more new editions in the pipeline where even the designs were already finished
some users from the collectibles section can agree with me. even a big promotion with Betnomi was planned and should start end of january with the upcoming poker tournaments/series

to become ceo i had to pay some shares to Coldkey of course.
since i had very good feeling and also with yogg very often wrote and phoned i have then with 0.5BTC in Coldkey participated (the transaction was also signed by yogg and is visible). yogg and i had then the same percentage shares.
i have told yogg several times that for me finally a dream comes true and i can actively participate/work in a crypto startup
a new website was in development and should finally go online in the middle/end of this week - but unfortunately nothing will come of it anymore
during some phone calls yogg also confided some things to me and also told me about his (spiritual) illness - the word gambling was never mentioned and until yesterday nobody knew about it.
somehow it was not meant to be and Coldkey is now history...
i will swap all my Coldkey cards this afternoon/evening and think of the nice time when all the auctions/wts/wtb threads started and everyone wanted to have the nice cards
only what remains are the Coldkey photos in my collection thread...
i tried to call yogg a few times yesterday but all in vain...
if i will ever see my 0.5BTC again...

i also wanted to thank all the Coldkey collectors who loved this project as much as i did. without you the project would be history - THANKS FOR EVERYTHING

Since you are the CEO of Coldkey and own company shares, how about informing the authorities? Freeze company accounts and exchange wallets?

As long as the Bitcoin are not completely lost (or gambled away), it is now your task as CEO to protect the damaged customers as best as possible.

You can't just say: Well, he scammed all of us. Especially now, you have to do everything you can to compensate the affected users as much as possible. Not with your own money. But by taking the right steps to clear up the fraud and save what can be saved.

Not legal advice of any sort, I don't know much about it but as far as I know verbal contracts can be valid as well. Especially if followed by a big transaction of funds that you claimed happened (0.5 BTC?).
It's probably a good idea to get some advice from a lawyer at that stage.
