In other words, we need to do our due diligence and use common sense. Learn how to have a second thought mentality rather than just simply believing on what your “fake friend” has offered you.
From what the OP, said I think common sense is what is most important for the OP have totally trust the person after he has introduced him to crypto, Binance which is the most trusted exchange.
If the OP use common sense, he would have asked himself the right question which will make him stop depositing another fund into the scam platform since crypto is never a quick rich scheme.

Trust is mostly targeted by scammers now a days, and you can't predict if your new online friend will be trusted, as they will do everything to gain your trust, or in some cases, they will turn out to be scammers if they see that you can be easily manipulated. Trust and common sense really need to be used with caution at this time, and you should double check and not easily trust people when money is involved. As others have said, a person will show their true colors if they are already involved with money.
The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Showing or letting someone know your vulnerability either online or in real life is the faster way of being a victim of a scammer and it could not be a scam that involves money because some people are also scammed sexually.
Nonetheless, it is not good to totally trust someone even after the person is being tested.

It is very bad trusting a random fellow on social media and discussing investments on a personal message. Even meeting them onsite is not safe either. Investment in crypto is carried out on reputable exchanges. The social medias is full of scammers and looters ready to waste and spoil off what people have gathered. It is sad you had a bad experience OP.

On the third that he persuaded me to invest more money so that I will earn bigger

This is where thieves catch newbies easily because they know that at the mention of bigger gain they will rush in. Anyone can promise you anything online but first mark sure they have a track record you can trust. Since he chatted with you on WhatsApp that means you have his number. Trace the number and know how you can track him.

I think we must be careful about the social media accounts we have so that we can use them well and with security we can use

The story in the OP has nothing to do with security of social media account. It talked about how op got scammed and it was greed that caused it.

During the covid crisis, I met a man on Facebook, who was friendly and chatty our conversation was normal,so we exchanged numbers and move to Whatsapp and share massages, After some weeks he started introducing me to crypto currency, how it works, how it been used to earn,he ask me to open a binance account, showed me on how to fund my account  he also  introduced me to his platform and persuaded me  to sign up then he showed me how to move the money to a trading platform where it will be invested. I made my first payment which I was seeing on my dashboard clearly and also how I can freely  withdraw it back to my binance account.

On the third that he persuaded me to invest more money so that I will earn bigger but I instead to see and withdraw the first investment before making or investing more but he keep on persuading me so i starting have doubts and bad feelings about it , I decided to open  the investment site to see if my money is safe and can be withdraw but when I open the investment site I found out that my trading site stopped working then I reached out to him, he asked me to contact customer service which I did and they told me that my account was blocked and I need to pay certain amount of money to unlock my funds, which I did then  I try again to withdraw my funds but i couldn't,  i contacted the customer service again they also demanded for more money, At this moment i absolutely knew that I have been scammed.

Social media is a very good platform for information exchange and communication, but at the same time it is full of fraud. Some people say that Musk has the world's largest media of lies. Although it is a joke, it also illustrates a problem: one is the inductiveness of public figures' speech, and the other is that information needs to be screened, and you must judge whether it is true or false.

Stranger has no good intention but rather his after the binance referrer link, but telling how it work is a good one to get your mind for registration, while how to earn is under is easy to explain, because every rich person don't exposed his secret for free, their is price to pay.
Let me make very clear to everyone, I'm not reacting to this discussion base on the subject sentence of this thread or but I'm emphasising on it because this statement that stipulates that ^ every rich person don't exposed his it's secret of surviving for free^ i felt excited because of the clause of the statement, but it's very clear and understandable that reviewing a scret of your pathways of surviving is very difficult, and that's while some people doesn't share the methods they use for having or making a profit via trading. I think you're right.

Unfortunately, this is a classic scam promoting fake exchanges/trading platforms that supposedly block your account and request money from you in order to "unblock" your funds. Social media aren't to blame in this case, and reporting that person to Facebook might only close their account at best. The police will rarely interfere with such cases as well, since chances are that any information you were given was forged and it is way too much of a hassle for the police to actually catch such a scammer. In many cases, they might be in a third-world country.

I haven't heard of a similar incident through Facebook. Such scams are known on Discord servers and Telegram groups, pretending that you won a prize through an exchange but still need to pay a small fee to withdraw.

Social media has more often been used as a scamming location, and as such, it is generally a good way in which you can easily be duped and scammed.
One of the quickest and simplest ways to be scammed is via social media. The majority of con artists form pointless friendships with their victims in order to take advantage of them and defraud them.
When con artists present you to a platform or website where you will be scammed, you may occasionally find it confusing and contradictory. Websites That Sell Fake Products are another example in addition to social media. These websites sell bogus goods including face masks and hand sanitizer.
False health organizations: Scammers assume the role of medical experts.

Re: No social media is safe

No social media is safe.. because these types of scams are mostly spread through social media sites in the first place. And scammers will find more and more enticing ways to find victims; so the only real solution here is to think realistically and in a non-delusional manner.

"if it's too good to be true, it probably is."
the majority of fraudsters use social media to find their prey because of the tendency of people to have too high expectations on social media without thinking realistically.  I quite often get messages from someone who I suspect is a scammer, they seem very friendly, but in the end, someone asks for money and someone asks me to meet.

yes youre right, sometimes they will make us believe that they are good and can give us a good advantage. actually there are many modes used by the fraudsters, if you are new to someone on social media you should never trust someone even though he looks good and considerate.
stay alert and don't be careless about all forms of online fraud, the fraudsters will always think of various ways to cheat. remember that someone we often meet can deceive us especially people we have never met at all.

Sorry for your sad experience. People you don't know don't just randomly offer to help you especially on social media without a hidden agenda. I kind of wonder how people make some kind of mistakes, even if it's your close friend that introduces you into a business or investment, you really need to take time to find out more about such business before commiting you money into it, not to talk of someone you don't know from adam. There are scammers everything, they come with different ploys to lure unsuspecting individuals and we all need to be careful not to fall for their tricks.

If you are adding unknown people to your social media accounts and giving them your information, it surely isn't safe at all. This is why they allow only 13+ year age to access Social Media.
Also, the privacy which we hinder ourselves with Social Media accounts is too vulnerable. One should stay lowkey to enjoy the most in the life. Cheesy

You can make connections on social media which is good but trusting them on level where you share information with them is out of mind especially when we can't tell how genuine the other person is or even his gender.People fall for it and then regret later on which has no meaning because you should take privacy steps earlier without falling in their trap.Social media is full of scammers where you will recieve lot of such persons trying to find new victims and it's hard to trace them because these platforms are not asking for verifications or something like that so be aware to share any information with strangers over there.

Social media is sometimes scary, because criminal acts such as fraud are very easy to do, and when you are deceived like you are, you must be confused about what to do. Because if you have been deceived through social media like that, it will definitely be very difficult to be able to report the crime. Because all the motives carried out by the fraudster are indeed very neat and will definitely be difficult to investigate. So if that's the case, just make it a lesson, that social media is also not spared from what is called crime.

In the future, you have to be more careful, especially with people whose identities you don't know clearly. Because don't get caught in the same case. Then if you are still interested in the world of crypto, it's better to learn on your own at the beginning. Because if you already have basic knowledge about crypto, when you ask questions or share with other people, you won't be easily deceived, because you already have the basic knowledge.

And if you want to invest in crypto, try to use a platform that has clear information and clear security.

Well, the sooner one gets to really see the positive application of social media to their everyday life and business, the better for everyone.
People make huge funds on social media, irrespective of the porous nature of it.
It is a digital age, and that fear of having ones data exposed on social media should be refuted. Instead, security measures and protocols should be adhered to inorder to prevent the ills of social media bearing down.

The truth is that when you expose your weakness to someone, he will at some point want to take the advantage of that weakness. It has become a natural religion of people. No one should be trusted offline or online. The OP is very nicely used by the scammer and he also acted as per the instructions of the scammer. Nowadays people have no morality so they cannot be trusted. They do not hesitate to do any immoral act. But if the OP hadn't been able to figure this out quickly, he could have lost even more money. I hope OP remembers the lessons he learned from this for the rest of his life.

Social media is the last place you could trust anyone, especially if it's a stranger that you have never met in your life. Even if the person is telling the truth, always have a sense of distrust 🤨 and don't give the person 100% trust; otherwise, you can be jacked several times because scammers on social media have different strategies for making you build trust for them before they strike with their evil scammy act. Some scammers can go to the length of even sending money to you just to earn your trust, and after they are fully convinced that they have won your trust, they will ask you to do some transaction or trade with them, and they can rub off X10 of what they gave you. For you, OP, and every other person, don't trust anyone on social media. Even if those scammers offer to send money to you, you can accept the money based on what you choose to do, but don't send money to them.

Cheers 🥂, Dr.Bitcoin_Strange 👺👺

Well, the sooner one gets to really see the positive application of social media to their everyday life and business, the better for everyone.
People make huge funds on social media, irrespective of the porous nature of it.
It is a digital age, and that fear of having ones data exposed on social media should be refuted. Instead, security measures and protocols should be adhered to inorder to prevent the ills of social media bearing down.

Not disputing the fact that social media has done so many good things especially in promoting the business of so many people and it has also been a source of income to so many who has used it as a source of livelihood through the monitization of their pages but I think social media has done more worse than good as it has led so many to their early graves through misinformation and scams which are the major disadvantages of it.Having seen the good and bad part of it I think taking more safety measures and not believing everything seen on social media will help in reducing so of the damages it has caused.

But the worst social media for scamming is Facebook and telegram and now they have added Twitter. I only see social media as place to have fun with colleagues, friends and relatives. Though some people use it for businesses of all kind. But even through the business scammers are using it to scam people. Using social media to buy things is not save and not advisable.
