I would like to preface this by saying that I live in the UK, I do not live in the US. I am an onlooker, and just expressing my thoughts. My dad's side of the family are Moldovan, not Ukrainian, so I'm not an expert, again, just my thoughts here.

The US' actions will likely dictate the UK's actions, since we are just a mini suck-up to the US - this is why I'm talking about this.

Biden recently announced a ban on Russian oil and natural gas imports, continuing his attack on the middle class. He didn't phrase it this way of course, but when have Democrats ever spoken their true intentions? In this case, it's about Vladimir Putin. Biden is going to make it illegal for Americans to use Russian oil and energy. This, he said, will amount to a massive moral victory, and a devastating defeat for the Russians. Every constituency loved it, the Democrats for once could talk about something other than COVID on the Southern Border. Republicans were loving it too, finally an excuse for them to sound tough and decisive without making CNN angry. Unity is very rarely seen in a city so divided like Washington.

However, no one seemed to ask the most obvious question - how is this benefitting us? Is Biden trying to bankrupt Putin? Good luck with that, considering he has a reserve of $200 billion spread across allied countries like China, India, Turkey etc. Is it to force Russian troops to withdraw? Even Biden didn't claim that sanctioning Russian energy would help deter Russia in Ukraine.

So who are these 'sanctions' aimed at? If you want to identify the target of a penalty, identify who will suffer the most from it. In this case, it's the middle class, i.e, people who earn incomes per annum of sub-$100k. The middle class were the ones affected the most by the COVID restrictions, and now they're about to be pummelled by these energy bans. It's not Putin who's being punished, it's you.

You are about to get a lot poorer, everything that needs to be transported more than 10 metres is going to go sky high in prices. Food, electricity, energy, basically everything in existence. Couple this with the current inflation rates, Biden's reckless spending, and the autocratic nature of the Western central banks, and you start to see how Russia are practically exporting hyper-inflation. This is the one thing that Biden will not/hasn't mentioned during his speeches.

A couple of quotes from Biden's recent speech:

- "The American people have dealt another powerful blow to Putin's war machine."
- "It is simply not true that my administration or policies are holding back domestic energy production, it is simply not true."

It is demonstrably true. Within days of inauguration, Biden single-handedly killed the Keystone XL Pipeline. Just days before Russia invaded Ukraine (strange right?), Biden's administration shut down all new energy leases and permits on federal land.

Jen Psaki, a woman who majored in "Gender Studies", came out to say that 'preventing domestic energy production' is not the same as 'holding it back'.

A quote from her speech:

- "Let me give you the facts... There are 9000 approved drilling permits that are not being used. So the idea that we are preventing companies to drill, is inaccurate. The suggestion that that is what is hindering gas prices, is inaccurate."

So, because oil companies are not using all the permits they've received, this is all their fault. They're not drilling because there is no oil below the permitted land, not because they're lazy or want to tank the market. These companies want land that flows, but they can't get them, because of the Green new deal lobby that controls the Administration, if you doubt it, ask anyone in the energy sector.

Jen Psaki and these people just lied to you, but if you bring this up, you're unpatriotic, pro-Putin, and disloyal. Apparently, caring about Ukraine means prolonging a bloody war in Ukraine, until the entire country of Ukraine has been destroyed and that there are millions of refugees. We know they can do it, they did it in Iraq. That's patriotism.

Steven Colbert said he would "pay $15" for gasoline, because it is in "good conscience". He then goes on to say he drives a Tesla. Take this in, a presenter who earns $60million a year, thinks that $15/gasoline is good, because it is in good conscience, and it's the right thing to do. He drives a $150,000 electric car, but he wants you to pay more for your gasoline.

Bottom line, the elites do not want a self-sufficient, proactive middle class. (Look at what Trudeau did recently for another example.)

This is encapsulated by Sec Warren's recent comments on cryptocurrency. She has suggested a major crackdown on cryptocurrency due to Russia potentially sidestepping sanctions. 'Let's punish Putin by crippling crypto.' Ridiculous. She was quoted: "We need to crackdown on crypto. We are only sanctioning the oligarchs through the traditional system. The hole here is crypto. You've got to pick it crypto. If you want to continue to provide the wallets, exchanges etc, then you can do it in Russia, or you can do business in the United States, but you can't do both."

Wild idea, let's keep these demented r***** away from our financial system and the power grid, let them take the sociological roles. Stay away from the fundamentals that keep the country running. You must submit total personal control, or you serve Russia, is what they're saying.

CNN looked into higher gas prices. "People we have spoken to, they are okay with paying higher gas prices, if it means holding Russia accountable". Americans are apparently okay with going into poverty, if it means 'holding Putin accountable'.

This statistic tells you everything you need to know:

"
"If a wider war breaks out in Europe, should the US military be involved?"

  All Voters - Yes - 49%

  - Yes by Income -
  Under $30k: 37%
  $30k-$50k: 48%
  $50k-$100k: 51%
  $100k-$200k: 52%
  Over $200k: 62%
"

Notice how the answer varies by income?

Apologies for the long post, this situation is just insane.

Steven Colbert

You do realize he's a comedian? Of course you don't.

BTW anyone's who's been paying attention since the last gas price spike ~15 years ago would be driving a normal car and not a 12 mpg barn on wheels now. And you don't need a Tesla, any $20k shitbox can do 40+ mpg.

But blaming the government for your own idiotic choices is a time-honored American tradition, and obviously that's much easier than taking personal responsibility or - gasp - voting in the actual fucking election.

Except he was being serious and lauding up applause for what he was saying. Didn't seem like a 'skit'.

"But blaming the government for your own idiotic choices is a time-honored American tradition, and obviously that's much easier than taking personal responsibility or - gasp - voting in the actual fucking election."

Idiotic choices being electing Joe Biden as President? Agreed man.
1) I wasn't of voting age during the election.
2) I'm not American.

Let me guess what you'll reply with, am I now not allowed to comment on America because I'm not American and 'I have no idea what's going on'?

"And you don't need a Tesla, any $20k shitbox can do 40+ mpg."

You have completely missed the point. The point is that, someone who is financially stable, filthy rich, is encouraging higher gas prices in the name of "good conscience". Ironic right?

Are you really that dense?

1) I wasn't of voting age during the election.

That figures. At least you have an excuse for being dumb but you still have time to fix it.

2) I'm not American.

Let me guess what you'll reply with, am I now not allowed to comment on America because I'm not American and 'I have no idea what's going on'?

You can comment on anything you want. Even if you don't have a clue.

"And you don't need a Tesla, any $20k shitbox can do 40+ mpg."

You have completely missed the point. The point is that, someone who is financially stable, filthy rich, is encouraging higher gas prices in the name of "good conscience". Ironic right?

As opposed to encouraging never-ending wars for cheaper oil, or sending money to deranged dictators, or fucking up the climate? As if that doesn't have a price.

No need to apologize you seem to notice a lot of what is happening in politics. I bet ol' Boris is treating you good since he is a conservative after all. NOT!!! Yeah I've heard he sucks too over in the UK especially with how he handled the pandemic and is just as limp wristed as Biden. I've got to say Biden is the worst president I've ever seen in my lifetime. I thought Obama was bad (I voted for Obama back when I was left leaning) but this guy takes the cake. I didn't like how Trump sort of turned his back on his own supporters when his last year was through. He should have ended the pandemic earlier like saner States in the Union did. Also he shouldn't have voiced his support for the vaccines. I almost wonder if they're all just puppets like I've thought before all looking to make us peasants own nothing so we can be "happy". I feel like they're all playing us for the same end game and that is total collapse so the corporations can come in and be our Saviors when they only want to fully take our rights and individual sovereignty. I've come to the conclusion that I can't trust any of them beside what I've got in my two hands that I OWN.

The fact that you think the middle class are feeling the most pain economically shows that you aren't putting much effort into being objective.  The poorest people will feel the most pain.  Period.

The middle class is going to get squeezed, that's for sure.  But I think the whole banning Russian oil imports will play a much smaller factor than you think.  China will buy the oil US would've bought (at a steep discount), which will leave Chinas suppliers (mostly Saudis, who only bomb brown civilians so it's ok, I think) a surplus, which will then go to the US.  Mid-Late summer things will be worked out oil wise - assuming we've avoided WWIII.  Perhaps there will be some oil used to lubricate a new Iran Nuclear deal as well, something that desperately needs to happen asap.

Imagine how much worse this would all be if we were in the middle of that recession that looked inevitable a year ago.  Thanks, Biden.

Somebody's is gonna give in.
EU afaik didn't ban Russian importation of oil and gas as said by the foreign ministry. I have watched the news recently that they will not follow US bans. The news these days gets confusing actually, the other side says one thing while the other says another.

The sanctions seem to be starting a WWIII already. Its yet an economic war but it may turn into the military. We'll wait another 3-6 months until someone takes another step. A sign of desperation, they give a go to that Iran nuclear deal. And this deal also gives Billions to Russia.

Honestly, I already felt the sanction by the US. I don't live in the US nor the EU, but in our country when the oil and gasoline price is high, everything will follow, and that basically includes the basic needs, so this sanction is not for middle-class people and most especially on the poor.

This is just a start.

Fuel prices to rise over ₱3/liter in 10th straight week of hikes

In my country, the price of oil remains stable and it even seems that the price will remain stable regardless of world geopolitical conditions. It's all because my country doesn't interfere with the current conditions in Ukraine, so imports of fuel from Russia remain stable. I don't really understand the political conditions in your country, so I won't comment too broadly on the price of oil in your country. But usually countries that depend on the west will be affected by high oil prices.

Ok I'm gonna get flack for this but like everything else there is more truth to the situation the deeper you look. The poor as you describe them are slaves to the government period. They need their welfare just to get by many of them never get jobs and just milk the system as bums on the street. Others I can feel a bit sorry for they are working some minimum wage job that gets the benefits from the government but they are still dependent on this aid because western economies no longer produce goods that could generate higher paying jobs thus moving them to the middle class. The same business knows this and actually helps them get this aid (Walmart, McDonalds, etc.) instead of paying them a higher wage.

The elite's end goal is to have no middle class. Why you might ask? It is because the middle class has enough capital to protest to say no to their crony consolidations. They want everyone to be poor and need some sort of government aid except for themselves even though technically they'll use said government (insert name it doesn't matter it'll be divided into continents anyhow) for grants, etc. Energy wise, I don't think that it will be worked out for the US and other western governments this is all part of their plan. They want to starve of us of our energy so we can't protest so we'll OWN NOTHING AND BE HAPPY. At least you get that Biden is doing this but he is merely a small puppet in this one world government plan and Putin is the bigger actor in this play today. Putin is giving you the reason that you will have NO ENERGY.

I'll admit he was funny when he was on Comedy Central but I think we can agree that Colbert is a total shill. I'm just saying you can be just as blind listening to your MSM overlords as well: MSNBC, NBC, ABC, FOX(?), CNN, CBS, etc (there are so many that are mockingbirds). Its good and healthy that we let our own opinions. My apologies to you and may we continue to have good discourse Smiley.

I wouldn't know, I haven't been watching him other than a few occassional skits on Youtube, but last I've see it - still a comedian. Not a news anchor or otherwise pretending to be someone he isn't (I think his CC skit was actually pretending to be a right wingnut, wasn't it?).

If you referring to the fact that Colbert (and many other comedians) are mocking right-wing political views more than e.g. Bernie or Sleepy Joe (which they still do BTW), that might have something to do with the outlandish caricature that the political right has become, at least in the US. You know, all the free trade, financial discipline, personal responsibility, and other stuff that has given way to conspiracy theories and wannabe authoritarians.

I'm just saying you can be just as blind listening to your MSM overlords as well: MSNBC, NBC, ABC, FOX(?), CNN, CBS, etc (there are so many that are mockingbirds).

I haven't really watched news on any of these since CNN broadcast of 9/11. Haven't even had a "TV" for nearly 15 years.

Were you more for Andrew Yang? Colbert really became shill when he became a late night host on CBS. I still think you are getting your sources from left leaning sources that are just as bad as those on television. Now you can argue that I get my sources from independent blogs or other sites that are right or libertarian leaning and I will say that is true.  Haven't you noticed the slant of your own sources? And how the right wing doesn't have a voice? The left side is always right? They're constantly censored? Somebody is paying for this "information" you are getting is what I'm trying to say. This is why I listen to right/libertarian sources because they seem to have more sense than the socialist left that basically want to collapse everything for consolidated crony corporate control of everything like a bunch of feudal kings. Hell that was what Maduro did over in Venezuela and I bet he and his buddy have full control over EVERYTHING. Biden and his cronies (or the ones that run him) want the same for America.

I'm not full right wing. I'm actually an independent and more libertarian leaning. If I was full right wing I would be for this war and the Military Industrial complex getting their bilk off of Ukraine. I believe free trade can work if it didn't then there would be so many regulations in crypto that no one would want to trade it. Crypto gave me my taste of real free-market capitalism instead of the crony system that the West is forced to endure yet this is why so many believe socialism can work... when in reality it only breeds more cronyism. I think we should have a choice on energy and have as many platforms as possible then maybe one day green energy could dominate through capitalistic structures instead of the coerced crony structure pushed on the masses now.

I used to be more left-leaning as well, but the radical leftists turned me away from that - I agreed more with the economic policies of the right wing anyway.

Glad we came from the same background in a way. I'm not entirely right leaning myself but sometimes I do like the policies on the left such as cannabis legalization and Bitcoin (even though many on the right like it as well).

Check out my other post about Project Veritas exposing a NYT journalist about how he keeps his bias of Jan 6 to his articles and what his corporate masters bid him to do.
