It is not a new question for noobs but I think you already have an idea. I'll give some hints, invest those coins that it was really profiting and for long-term investment. I don't suggest hyped projects, not even new projects as the majority of them are scams, never waste your time digging which is one is legit and which is not.

Buy some BTC, BNB, ETH and hold, I don't buy the idea is investing all my money in one single asset, don't put all your eggs in one basket, BTC have stronger advantage over other coins but no one knows what the future may have in-store for us.

When we say "don't put all your eggs in one basket" it mostly means don't put it on one single asset class; also put some money in stocks and in businesses. Because spreading out your exposure in crypto to other coins and tokens doesn't actually decrease your risk — it increases it.

As all those cryptocurrencies are highly correlated you are not diversifying.  A good portfolio is balanced along many different asset  classes such as stocks/bonds like you said.

It makes no sense to "diversify" in assets which are totally correlated. As mentioned above, you will only increase your risk and volatility.

I would avoid putting everything on the same basket, i.e., I would invest at least in three instead of one. Maybe Bitcoin, and some from top 10 and some new alt coin with potential / use case.

If you want to diversify your portfolio, better to diversify trough other investment not crypto space e.g. real estate, stock, gold etc. This will prevent the risk if crypto market goes unhealthy.

I agree with what he said that diversifying your portfolio doesn't mean that it is only on the cryptocurrency but other assets as well like the ones he said already as well or maybe add investing into business maybe like crowdfunding other business and the like.

As for my part, that is why I also quoted this because aside from my crypto investment I'm also investing into stock market and maybe real estate in the future. I thought of investing into Bonds as well but seeing its annual yield, I just decided to put my money into stock market (REITS in particular). But to answer you OP, since you are in a Bitcoin forum I think just focus on the top 10 coins but first at least have some knowledge because it will help you in your investment journey and it will you prevent getting scammed as well .

Well, the top 10 of the market list is the most recommended for investment. Even to can search outside the forum, the majority will suggest these coins.

Don't ever get easily fooled by hyped projects especially as you are new into this ( I think). You will just lose if you miss the hype, that is why I suggest a reliable project that will surely give you a profit if you manage it carefully.

I second that. Right now, the market isn't showing any clear signs of trends that await us. So Bitcoin, being the top currency, is the safest bet, as during bad times it loses less than other coins, and during good times it can bring some profit. Just look at the top altcoins on the current market, and you'll see that they basically follow BTC movements now, but when Bitcoin is down by 8.8%, Ethereum is down by 9.6%, and Cardano by 12.1%. Of course, some are temporarily doing better or worse and any high-cap coin is alright, but why bother with them when there's Bitcoin?

I think currently coins that have strong fundamentals are very suitable for investment, especially in the long term, such as binance, ethereum, bitcoin, solana, kardano, and polkadot, but if you want to invest in game-based tokens then I recommend investing in axie infinity because this token has a potential that is not inferior to coins that are in the top 10 CMC,

You recommended within top ten coins on the coinmarketcap that's a great deal for the long term i think, especially BTC,BNB and ETH those are my favorite always. But i think gambling based projects will not profitable in the long term and it seems pretty risky investment in my opinion. Axie Infinity's a bit brightest coin but it’s already down 60-70% and will never recover in the short term.

I'm seeing a lot of clear-headed views here regarding Bitcoin, and Ethereum. They should come as first and be the biggest chunks in your portfolio, and smaller chunks maybe for risky degenerate gambling type of calls. Pay To Earn sector has some promising perspectives with projects coming out soon. Who's capitalizing on Sandbox/Metaverse type of developments, and who is bringing Unreal Engine in. If the war doesn't get nuclear then we might see some tech-savvy days ahead of us.

Straight up best options currently would be BTC and ETH. Once the situation in the world, and thus on the markets stabilize I suggest looking into good, and safe yield-bearing tokens. I do also believe P2E will be a big industry side were to infiltrate, and being there I'd just concentrate on games that actually look playable, and open up front teams - Axie Infinity (it's the first big ones I personally don't like the gameplay) ENGN - they have sick ass shooter coming out, feel free to check their gameplay trailer.

Looks like you are not ready to invest in anything. You can't just go around asking people what is the "best" coin to invest in. People will give you biased answer. They will tell you to invest in coins that they have invested in. Even if it is a shitcoin and they know it, they will tell you to invest in those coins.
Why not make a list of coins, choose some and then do your own research before investing? Ask about a specific coin. Look at the community and see how active it is. You will know if a coin is a pump and dump coin or if it is a real coin with good use cases by just looking at the community.
