It also seems to me that betting on Kambosos is a good option, since he is formally an underdog and the odds for him are very attractive - 2.6. And the result of this fight is far from obvious, for example, Pacquiao believes that Cambasos will be the winner. In the fight with Lopez, Cambasos was also an underdog, but he won one way or another, I think in the fight with Haney he will try to be the first number and fight from the very beginning. It is believed that Haney is less dangerous in terms of knockout, so he can afford such activity from the very beginning.
Maybe this is good enough but if you look at it from another angle, I still feel that Haney is currently able to overcome Kambosos.
Regardless, Kambosos has been talking too much lately, it seems, and this clearly indicates that he is still anticipating Haney's move and still doesn't know what method to use against Haney in the future.

Of course he has a chance, the result of the fight is not predetermined and both fighters can win. But if we assume that they have approximately equal chances (which, in my opinion, is justified), then it is obvious that it is better to bet on an underdog, since a bet on Haney will bring you only 59% profit, while a bet on Kambosos can bring 132% ( yes, I see that the chances have changed and the odds for Kambosos have been lowered).

Odds at the moment if this fight goes the distance:

Haney 1.88  Kambosos 3.25
I haven't bet on a decision because Kambosos knockout record is underrated. His last three opponents were all former world champions and he knocked downed two of them. And I saw the e-mail champ getting hurt several times. Kambosos might stop this kid.

You should bet now, Kambasos is really underrated, and the fact that he is still undefeated now, that says a lot that he is really a good boxer. Haney is just favored because of his great boxing talent, but a knockout artist for me is fun to watch compared to a technical boxer that sometimes would only be boring.

If you believe so that Kambosos will be the hailed winner in this fight then you should also bet. The odds are just too tempting to see mate and that's is also why I chose to bet in Kambosos favor. In-fact, this is good because Kambosos is the underdog here even if he is the champion, I reckon he should be called as the champion of the underdogs lol.

I assume that Devin will just be an instrument to give some challenges to the champion and push him into his limits, in that way, Kambosos will be explode just like what he did to Lopez in the first round.

I don't think it's like that, I will not look at the Odds at this time but I will look to the other side, even though Kambosos is now highly motivated but don't forget Haney is also risking his WBC belt and of course this will be a fight because it is both This boxer has something at stake.
But Haney's record of 27 wins with 15 KOs is certainly not something that can be considered an Instrument now.

Kambasos at 3.25, that's a good steal.

The fact that he is playing in front of the home crowd, we can expect that he will fight harder as he is more motivated to win. With this kind of odds, it seemed like bookies does not see Kambasos as a champion who has a good chance of beating Haney.

The words are underrated and underestimated.

I am more excited about this fight than all the other fights that started this year including the Romero - Davis fight, I know that Haney is good but I haven't seen him challenged this way against an undefeated fighter who beat the man who beat the man and on his opponent's territory if he can beat Kambosos decisively and unanimously he will be considered as the best than all the other lightweight in this area, better than Davis, or Garcia.

The Romero-Davis fight wasn't that interesting to me too, we know the latter cherry-picked the fight, and Romero accepted the fight because Mayweather wants to defeat Davis as this is his last fight before he leaves under Mayweather's promotion. We already knew what would happen because Romero is really too early facing the Tank.

As for this fight, these two boxers are good and they have the same chance of winning. The thing that got me interested is because they have unique abilities.

I don't think that Kambosos can get Haney the way he knock down Lopez in round 1. Lopez is careless in that fight and thinks he can just bulldozed his way. Haney is a thinking fighter and a technical one, yes, he has questionable chin and that's what makes him a defensive fighter because he can't just brawl as he can easily get knock out. Maybe his strategy is to frustrate Kambosos in this fight, maybe a few hugs here and there in the first couple of rounds to test George patience.

That is why it's good to bet for Kambosos this time because his chance of winning is high and the odds are so tempting/attractive at least for me.

Bookies may have placed Kambosos as the underdog because he only fought once for the championship for that mandatory fight and they think that he still lacks the experience to defend those belts he has right now.

I hope that this fight won't be boring because the two are more of a counter-punchers thus I expect this to go the distance.

Yeah but maybe bookies forget that the fight will be in Australia hometown of Kambosos?

And I also do agree that he is a good underdog in this fight, although he doesn't have the experience, but he shows heart and resiliency when he defeats Teo Lopez.

So maybe he will show more here specially that he will be fighting in front of his fans. I don't think it will be boring, Kambosos is going to be the aggressor and will test Devin's chin if it can hold up against his power punches.

That should be a factor already but Haney has proven his worth in the ring he is the new version of Mayweather, not a very exciting fighter but always takes home the win.

It's Teo Lopez's mistake he has no plan and is uncontrollable he is fighting with emotions

I have seen him in so many of his fights and he is always the aggressor, the flow of the fight is very much expected, Kambosos is the aggressor and Haney will be countering a lot, it will be interesting who will have a better fight plan.

^^ Or who has the better skills to adjust as the round progresses. If Haney frustrates Kambosos, then what he will do after? or if Kambosos is hitting Haney at will, how will Haney cover to avoid getting a knock out?

So this is really a good match in paper, Haney might have a slight advantage in height, but it doesn't matter, I think it's negligible. So we will find out tomorrow, who will adjust more and has better strategy.

News update.

George Kambosos did not make the weight by .36 pounds. I am not certain what time was the weigh-in, however, Kambosos will be given only 2 hours to make the weight. Also, good news for Devin Haney bettors hehe. His father was given a last minute visa to enter Australia to be with his son during the fight.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KpCFxOxoKxM

The confidence of Haney will certainly pump and Kambosos' confidence might dump hehehe. I will not change my pick, however.

Thanks mate, wow, So Kambosos didn't make the weight in his own country? however, .36 lbs I think he can shred it in just under 2 hours and make the contractual weight in this fight.

I guess the Victorian government wanted to make the fight 'fair' by having Haney's father on his side during this fight. And it's good that Haney's promotion (not sure if it is Eddie Hearn's matchroom), because for sure they have help the case of his father to get a visa ASAP.

Yeah, but Kambosos is really going to be dry and his body needs to re hydrate more in the next 24 hours. Perhaps it was an overlook on his team or maybe the scale has problems too we don't know. Because Haney is under the weight while George went over by just a hair.

Anyhow, the fight is tomorrow already, and if ever he makes weight then all the trask talk and bad mouthing is done and we can see who is the better of the two.

Update: George Kambosos make the weight in the 2nd attempt.

Quote
The swagger was justified, as Kambosos (20-0, 10KOs) clocked in at 134.49 pounds—well under the lightweight limit and within the prescribed two-hour period to make weight. The unbeaten Aussie weighed 135.36 pounds on the first try, though chalked it up to psychological warfare.

https://www.boxingscene.com/george-kambosos-jr-13449-makes-weight-on-second-attempt-undisputed-clash-with-devin-haney--166714

So he weight at 134.49 lbs, however, the twist is that George admitted that he done it in purpose to throw Haney to believed that he is not going to make it.

Quote
“The art of war, baby. Deception,” Kambosos insisted after moving forward with the first defense of his lightweight championship. “Let them believe this was done. Everything is a process. Art of war, deception. I did it on purpose.”

Do you agree though that he did it on purpose?

@Dave1. No hehehe. He very much certainly did not do that on purpose. However, I disagree with @Kemarit. Kambosos did not appear to have a difficult time in removing the excess weight. It might be only another 1 hour of Kambosos sitting in the sauna bath.

The real art of war is inside the ring not outside of it, if he did it on purpose its useless Haney is very much into it, he has faced a lot of adversaries in the past, this is a cheap trick, finally, the boxers are both heated up heading into the fight Haney will be motivated now that his father is at his side, its just fair that they let him get into Australia, so to avoid accusations that they are lenient on their champion.

Of course not. What kind of fool would do that on purpose? It was really a failure. But it was good that they were able to make the required weight the second time around. Art of war? Deception? No, baby, it wasn't art of war. Art of war is not telling your enemies your plan, not proclaiming it. It's not deception either. It is not deception if you're saying it is deception. And why would you be exerting effort on this? The war hasn't even begun yet.

George turns a that negativity and then used it as a weapon. But I doubt that it's very effective though, if you look at it, just a fraction of 1 lbs. You can sweet it out, by doing some light mitts in the gym go back in the weighing scale and make the weight. Maybe he is saying that truth though that he had coffee, and maybe that's the reason why he retain the weight.

So it's not done on purpose, he was just caught and most probably him and his team are very surprised as well that's why he has to strip and weight many times before they announced what his official weight-in. Of course he was given special treatment by the lady but she has to be firmed that George was indeed over the weight in the first try.

Nope.

If you don't want yourself to be a shame in the public, you must make a statement like you are embracing what happened and turn things out in a positive way and that is what Kambosos did. No boxer in the world will purposely make himself underweight just for the sake of "art of war or deception".

I also don't agree, like what Haney just said in their weigh in real champions make weight there's no reason why he should employ that, this is the first time I read that you make yourself overweight just to deceive your opponent if you are really in the tip top condition and you are well-conditioned you do everything in the ring, not outside of the ring tactic that could back fire to you

I agree with most users here Kambosos isn't doing that for a purpose, but more like an excuse. I wouldn't expect Kambosos will gently admitting his mistake and explain it as good boy since his images on boxing career are an arrogant and trash talking person, but he's not underestimating his opponent or taking easy about it. Haney wouldn't get intimidated with that, it's a normal thing in boxing.

Kambosos shouldn't over confident enough since he already own 4 belts, he need to put in his mind if he was still a challenger so he can more focus to beat Haney.
