I think Memphis Grizzlies, why?
Because they are very trending now and most people choose them, Brooks could fine as a good option too but my favorite team to win in Memphis.
Since Pau Gasol is in Memphis, I have confidence that their team will win and survive into a final match.

Became trending is not total guarantee that they might became the champion this season as therr are also many teams have potential to bag this up. But if they can retain their stars to be healthy on their remaining games and can able to dominate their opponents will there's no further debates on this discussion anymore. But I have a big feeling that Grizzlies will be careful upon handling their stars at this very moment since we can say that they got the momentum on this season.

I know that Memphis is great this season, no doubt about it, 2nd place in the West, getting the most win in their franchise.

But playoff is very different, you have a series against a team and it's a matter of adjustment and experience. And we all know that Memphis is too young and doesn't have the playoff experience. They have Ja Morant and Brooks, but if the opposing team was able to check on those two then they will have a hard time winning that series unless they can adjust.

However it's hard to bet against the defending champs as always. Bucks will have a good chance of coming out of the ECF but I don't think that they will repeat.

It's not that it is hard to bet against the defending champ but in the first place, Milwaukee Bucks being in the Finals again is not even guaranteed as there are lots of competitive teams in the Eastern Conference. The same goes for Western Conference and even Phoenix Suns end up with a good record, I don't see their chances are likely high to be the Western Conference champion again due to the current competition.

The Odds will never be a key factor for choosing who will the Championship this season. That's how difficult to bet on that category and what we need is to based on our own analysis and views, not on what anyone else like OP wants to achieve on this thread.

But the Phoenix Suns are probably going to win the championship. Because they play better than other teams.

I think I might have to agree with your statement here. It really is going to come down to who can stay healthy and if the Brooklyn Nets can get Ben Simmons on the floor.  I don’t think they (the Nets) have a chance to beat beat the Suns if they don’t get him back. They might be the only team however that could beat the Nets, will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

This seriously makes me laugh because his reasons for choosing the Memphis Grizzlies to win this season is just because they're trending and it's not that concrete enough to be a basis and I got confused when he mentioned Pau Gasol too, but well, that's his opinion so let's just respect that and it's his/her money to waste anyway.

However I agree because the Grizzlies this season is very dangerous and could put the team they face in a difficult position as they can be very unpredictable but sadly the playoffs season is far from the regular season and the team lacks that experience.

I will go with GSW and my second choice is Sun for this season since wuitely they are doing well this season.

That would also be my choice. Suns and GSW. While for the East, I think that I'll be going with the same choice as the others for Bucks. Although I'm also seeing that Brooklyn Nets are doing well.
But let's just wait and see how far they're going to be when the play-in comes. I also have a love for the Mavs, well it's a royal rumble on my mind, and can't wait for the results to see.

For the East, Heat, Boston, Sixers, Bucks and Nets are all heavy weight in terms of squad. Complete and healthy players will be giving us a tough time to choose, more on opinion though, Nets might climb their way to go to the next round and give anyone a hard series though like what I have said, a healthy squad from all those mentioned teams are also competitive and deserves to be in the finals.

We will wait for the play-in and the rest will be witnessed by our eyes during the 2nd round.

Yes, I agree that it all depends if the team will stay healthy throughout the playoffs. But I disagree that if ever Nets and Suns will be in the Finals, the Nets can't beat the Phoenix Suns. Ben Simmons is too overrated if he is the key for the Nets to beat the Suns.

We are talking about a series match here and some adjustments will be made along the way.

The Nets are also used to playing without Simmons, nothing special if he will play or not.

They might be the only team however that could beat the Nets, will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Don't forget Milwaukee Bucks. Giannis is playing at a high level every year and he is surrounded by good role players.

They will surely adjust if they will face the Nets on ECF now that they will also face Kyrie Irving.

I wouldn't say hes one of the best and i don't think any analyst has said he is an elite defender. He's is 6.9 and is great passer of the ball, so of course if he makes a steal or a block it will look like he is defensive force because his offense is so limited. But when it comes to playoffs, sure he's a nice player and i think he will add some value to the team. Not that Kyrie and Kevin need it at the moment, but i want to see more playing time given to paddy mills. Now he is smart defender and for his size he reads the game exceptionally well, a little inconsistant at times on offense, but as we have seen in the regular season, when given the minutes, he plays at an all star level. I had always thought the chemistry might be off for the nets come this post season, doubt the likes of Simmons will help with it.

He can be very handy on the team as they really lack and vulnerable with their defense, truth is that they have no other players that is more suitable on that job than Simmons. We cannot deny the young mans talent but the problem is that he have a big ego and his thinking skills is not good for the team. Who knows right? He might make it to the team and be a good additional on the court. Steve Nash said that they're looking to see Ben playing on the court on the 4th game against Celtics but they are not sure that he will be back as he is still unpredictable.

With Ben Simmons rumored to be coming back around game 4 of the first round of the playoffs, I think it will be hard for any team outside of the Nets to win the title. If Simmons is as out of shape as some are saying or he can’t get himself worked into the offense then I think the Bucks are probably going to win. On paper the Suns look like they’ll probably win the West, but I’m still not 100% sold on their roster. I think Ayton has a few more years of development before he’s an NBA champion. I’m looking forward to seeing how the first round shakes out and what Simmons looks like in the next week.

But we are talking about who will be the NBA Champion this year. If OP wants to maximize the best odds he can get, the bet should now be immediately be place before the playoffs started. There's no need for a too long research and analysis as once playoffs started, odds will now changed.

Ok, let's say OP wants to wait for long, the lines will surely adjusted for a wide gap after the 1st round, much less on 2nd round, and how much less during the Finals unless some expected lower team will face the Favorites.

It's ok to do a research but in my case, I don't make it too technical if we have to pick who will be the champion and I need to place my bet before the playoffs.

With only a day left before the playoffs, there might be no odds movement from the top teams since they are now waiting for the playoffs night. No injuries unless being tested positive by the virus. We can also expect that no major problem in the roster within a day.

Only those teams who are playing at the play-in will have their odds only changed for the next NBA Champion this year. With that said, there's no harm choosing the bet right now. As far as my current observation will apply, Milwaukee Bucks is my preferred team to be the next NBA Champion.
