[POLL] DT Trust/Feedback Activity Log

My goal is to produce a weekly list of all the trust-feedback that DT members send and receive within the previous week.

Any feedback, comments, concerns or support would be great to hear from the community.

LoyceV has inspired the programmer in me; I created a small prototype application to generate the list below, which includes Any DT1 Members with feedback sent/received in the month of April.

I understand the list may not be perfect, but I figured it best to see what the level of interest is in something like this before further development.

If you would like to go with it, where will you publish and store such updates?
I recommend you to do this on your own website just like what LoyceV, TryNinja, BPIP team do with their third-party websites with some data, updates.

I have removed the users that do not have any feedback activity for simplicity sake.

How about highlighting the DT-members without any sent feedback? Those users should probably not have been added to DT in the first place.

You asked for suggestions, so here it goes: use less words and more colors and links. So add a profile link to the username, don't show the userID. Don't mention "Positive" but make it Bold. Make negative feedback bold red, just like the forum does. Add the Reference link and feedback date.
Now it looks like a long list that I'm not going to read. To make this useful, it should quickly provide relevant information.

If you want to go wild, you could make this for DT3-members too. I've never really looked into those, but it might be useful to find members who deserve to be on DT2.

Why make it weekly, and not daily? Much of the feedback drama doesn't even last a week. Since it's only about 1000 pages to download, doing it daily shouldn't be a problem (I scrape much more than that).

I'm missing the most interesting thing: deleted feedback! Those are much harder to find without remembering every feedback ever received. If you can automate that, it can become a valuable resource for keeping track of who did what when.

Yeah, be careful there. It starts with small external storage because of the limited post size, and then quickly gets out of hand into storing 17 million files

I personally don't think the list is that long, though that may change during a particularly drama-heavy period or when adding DT2 members into the fray.

During the past week there has only been 26 instances of Sent or Received feedback, including untrusted feedback they've received. I think that's extremely manageable for a forum post, but maybe I am being naïve.

I'm open to the idea of having my own website for projects like this, but I honestly think this list would be too small to start my entire own website/repository.

Currently, I don't - I just made a static list of all of the current DT1 members based on the April update. DT1 only changes once a month, right? I'd like to automate the process of grabbing the DT members each time, but for the prototype I figured I'll just throw the DT1 members into a hard-coded list.

I sincerely do appreciate every suggestion, and I don't think any of that should be difficult to implement; Add a couple tags in a couple of places for readability; I designed it so that it would be "easy" on my eyes in a Console or plain-text, but since it would ultimately end up on the forum those are proper suggestions.

I definitely could expand this out to DT3 members, but if I'm going to do that I should definitely find a way to automate the list of users included. If I'm not mistaken, DT2 and DT3 are endlessly more dynamic/malleable than DT1.

Very flexible on the time-interval between updates, but weekly seemed to be the most reasonable interval. Daily updates would see multiple days without any activity, but that of course is my analysis based on the DT1 group of users.

Deleted feedback would be a lot more difficult to pull off, but I can definitely start poking my nose in that direction when I get some time. The voting for this isn't going too great so far, and there's no sense in developing something the community doesn't want, so maybe it'll just wind up being a personal tool that I use.

This isn't a bad idea.  It would be neat to have an overview of DT1 activity.  I think a monthly update would suffice.  It can be done right after the monthly lottery, so the stats would cover all DT1 activity for the whole previous month.

Be carful what you wish for.  I've been on DT1 for the last few months even though I'm rarely active these days.  Not that I care about my position on DT1, but it's obvious that many do.  If those who wanted to get to and remain on DT1 were incentivized to leave feedback, I imagine we'd see a lot more frivolous reviews.  Considering the cliques that develop within the DT1 voting pool, it could become difficult to rein in.

Though I have voted for useless as this will serve no purpose, it would bring some issue which some may not aware of. That would help some people who aren’t much active in the forum.
I use the feedback system only when it comes to trust someone with money. I check their trusted & even untrusted feedback to make sure whether there's something wrong. Therefore, I don’t personally see how it could benefit myself but for some other forum users, it might be handy.

I have implemented your suggestions to the best of my understanding. I've added the proper colors to the feedback, using less words and implemented links and removed UserIDs.

It also only generates a summary for users with activity from the date used.

It is good to have you back to the forum. You were one of the senior members I liked to read their posts as a newbie. I hope to still find that engagement in your posts now that you are back. This task you embarked on is a good one. But can I suggest to you that you do it weekly as it will make it an event for us to expect its time of release. Maybe like the thread for ranked up members or the the one for monthly statistics. This is only a suggestion.

The design still doesn't seem very appealing to me. Have you considered trying to display data with tables? Also, I think "Trust summary for..." should be in bold too.

The reason I suggested to do this daily, is that you can see all changes quickly. That might actually be something I'd like to check on a daily basis.
That way you wouldn't need a separator between different users, but only separate the days. I'm hoping for a more compact list.
If you can make untrusted feedback a lighter color, you can further reduce the repetitive text.
More suggestiont to make it smaller:
Reference Link > Reference
No Reference Link > Reference. Or, if you use icopress' table above, just omit the word entirely (just like the forum does).

Non-ascii languages are annoying to post on the forum if you get it from HTML. I never managed to get this right, but if you would post the same text on any external html page, it displays how it's supposed to be.

You'll need to keep all feedback locally, and then figure out which ones disappeared. More difficult indeed but very much worth it in the long term.

Does the feedback of non trusted users (neither DT1 nor DT2) matter?
If they really do not reflect as a tag (positive or negative), I'll suggest Op should exclude non trusted members feedback activities to make the thread concise and appealing to read.

I have a Legendary account I may consider to sell. It has 15600 post count, 2576 activity, 5101 merits and +32 trust. Someone should mention The Pharmacist here...

I'm assuming you mean the line of *'s, but I should likely keep the little "Trust Summary for X" line, don't you think?

Should I attempt to implement a "Horizontal Rule" to make it look cleaner? Not sure where or how would be best for that.
When I add DT2, should I have DT1 and DT2 in their own sections and notated?

That way you wouldn't need a separator between different users, but only separate the days. I'm hoping for a more compact list.

I'm assuming you mean the line of *'s, but I should likely keep the little "Trust Summary for X" line, don't you think?

Assuming most users don't add more than one feedback per day, I'd say the username can be on the same list as the feedback. So no header at all.

Usernames for DT-members can be bold, non-DT can use normal font. The ">" makes it clear who sent the feedback. Or use a better arrow.
If you do daily updates, the data (2022-04-08) can be in the header. The alignment will get messy if you don't use a table though.

Does the forum support a grey or lighter shade color for text?

Of course It's not in the drop down menu, but I assume you can use any (hex) color.

I wouldn't separate them. At Trust depth (2) DefaultTrust, it doesn't matter for the feedback.
