Is crypto the final stage in the evolution of money?

Just wait for several generation of kids to grow up. They will rewrite history according to their needs and vision of the world. No doubt that they will try to digitalize financial system and get rid of cash.

Truly, it is impossible to answer topic question, as we dont know what the world is going to be in one or two hundred years. If crypto is all about decentralization, we might turn into one nation, one republic with fully controlled payment system (like in scy-fi movies).

I don't know if perhaps i'm overthinking this, but considering the evolution of money from the beginning of time where different things have served as a medium of exchange and now currently banknotes.

On same trend, we are slowly witnessing the evolution of  money to crypto and i can't help but wonder if crypto is the final stage or there may perhaps be another revolutionary idea to replace crypto as money after crypto has been accepted.

Technological progress follows the following path - an object that performs a certain function disappears, but the function itself remains.  

For example, there used to be gold coins.  The object is a gold coin.  This object was characterized by physical properties - weight.  The heavier the coin, the more valuable it is.  But the weight of a coin is its negative property when you are faced with the task of moving large capital over a distance.  

Therefore, gold coins were replaced by paper checks, bills and banknotes.  Now the traveler was relieved of the need to take a heavy bag of gold and silver with him on the road.  Paper money is good, but it also requires physical contact between the buyer and the seller.  This is their shortcoming.  

Therefore, bank cards and cashless payments appeared.  Bank cards also have their drawbacks - this is a single issuing center, one point of failure in the system.  

Therefore, decentralized money (cryptocurrencies) appeared - Bitcoin, Monero, Ethereum, etc.  But cryptocurrencies also have their drawbacks.  To carry out transactions, you need devices - a laptop or a smartphone.  

The next stage in the evolution of money is money, which allows transactions to be carried out with the power of thought (without the direct participation of technical devices).

Mobile and digital banking is also a trend currently, and we will also expect innovation in this field. So, I guess crypto isn't the only thing that's evolving in terms of payment system and monetary transactions.

Nope.
I believe that the evolution is applicable to anything whether it is human or technology or the money etc. Nobody knows in the past that a currency like cryptocurrency will emerge right? All that we know is that fiat will be the one that we will be using to pay stuff etc.

There are no signs at least for now that there will be another currency or money that will emerge but I still believe that in the next centuries maybe, we might see another currency that is better than the cryptocurrency right  now. I believe that everything will evolved and so is money and the currency that human is using.

20 years ago nobody would believe there will be something called digital currency (cryptocurrency) that will be threatening the very existence of fiat, same thing happened years back before the advent of fiat, most of the medium of exchange back then where slowly replaced with fiat.

Now with the technological advancement of this generation it is very likely something more advanced will be created, the world is evolving very fast, new inventions every now and then, so it is possible something new will replace crypto in the future.

I agree with you. Little time has passed since we started using bank cards, but now we can’t imagine life without them. The world is developing rapidly and old payment systems are being replaced by new ones. Making predictions is very difficult. People can come up with any payment options and we cannot know whether there will be commodity-money relations.

No one can predicting how popular cryptocurrency as digital currency and now some of them most disappointed why not to be investor trough bitcoin and altcoin still have lower price. I think bitcoin will be effective few years later as legal digital currency payment transaction with billion member have been active as user or investor on bitcoin. All company will agree with bitcoin as legal currency payment depending what their costumer want, if still not try to adopt bitcoin I think several company will left by their costumer.

For me, maybe one day there will be something next to crypto in the evolution of money, but it’ll take centuries in my opinion for it to happen. One day, maybe the bank notes and physical coins we have are gonna cease to exist, and may see that every transaction is made digitally.

However, we might not exist during that day on whatever that new evolution is. We just don’t know what the future holds for us. We can only imagine about it. The world continues to evolve as we know it, as well as the money itself.

if we watch carefully the sci fi genre film then we will realize that there is no longer such a thing as traditional transactions, all of them have adopted digital transactions.  what about the real world life in the future, i believe it will lead to that too.  Digital transactions in cryptocurrencies are the end of the evolution of existing human money.

There will always be a new one that will be created to address the situation that we are in.
The era of cryptocurrency may live longer, but we have to be open mind that in the future something will come up.
Maybe more advanced than bitcoin or any other alt, who knows?
But I don't think, crypto will be the final stage, we are still evolving and there will be new ideas that will come about.

Brilliant minds are out there, time will tell if there will be another innovation that would surpass crpyto currencies. However this is too early, there are rooms for improvements as of now. Monetary system right now have survived for thousands of years, and we are nowhere near from that. I guess we won't be able to see it for ourselves, 60 years and above we are gone in this world, so let the next generation decide if they will still be using crypto or make a new one.

right, changing the existing order is not easy, it takes a long time and development, therefore I also think that the generation after us will use it. considering that for now the country still maintains control over their respective currencies, and it is a symbol of the country's economic strength. similarly even though russia can use crypto, but they ask the importers to pay for it in rubles, therefore there are still many countries that are not ready for full adoption

That's right, because innovation always comes all the time, for example, when we used to only send news via mail, then it was more recent with E-mail and more sophisticated just by sending via Chat via gadget, this can still happen and is likely to happen to crypto because human nature when things that are obsolete are not used then it will be abandoned.

btw maybe as I said before because in crypto the benchmark is bitcoin and we already know that bitcoin estimates will run out in the 22nd century which means we still have enough time left for Crypto to still develop.

Maybe now they will continue to develop and innovate with new projects in Crypto now as is happening now but when there is something new, it is certain that there will be a replacement there.

Are you saying things like telepathy or telekinesis?  This is kinda interesting.  I wanted to see how this kind of thing unfolds in financial industries but in my current understanding, it is somehow impossible. I think technical devices cannot be removed in the process of money transfers since there must be a record of transfers every time a person is doing transactions and that can't be done without technical devices.  Even implanted chip is a technical device itself.

True, crypto has many shortcomings, as of today it isn't fit yet to replace the current financial system because of several technical reasons.  I hate to think that it is very possible that a new financial system that is more advance has fewer technical problems, and is more user-friendly will be introduced even before this crypto system is perfected.

Who knows any crazy type of money format could come into future. For example, by that time neuralink project is completed and approved by WHO and we are using them. Through this we could simply transfer the money with blink of an eye. I don’t remember the movie or I think it’s from one of the episodes of Dr. Who where they visit timeline and everyone is just talking about digital chips which are transferred with hand to hand connection.

So far, crypto is very suitable to replace fiat, where people all over the world are familiar with technology, except for a few who are still lagging behind, but this can be implemented quickly.
