Is crypto the final stage in the evolution of money?

Although I would like to think. Crypto-Currency as the final stage of Evolution, but truth be told the world is constantly changing and even when the coin and Note form of money came about I think everyone would have thought it would be the final stage. So we aren’t sure but what I can say is Crypto-Currency would be a relevant part of the future, it may even go through several changes itself along the way.

I thought you were dreaming lol. see how easy it is for you to make transactions between countries even with a nominal transaction of millions of dollars but can be completed in just minutes without complicated things like in a bank. I believe that there will be nothing new in the world financial system in the future because crypto is the final stage of the evolution of human money.

Humans are not contented on what they have, it's our nature to continue inventing new stuffs and keeps on evolving but it seems crypto/bitcoin is already the best thing that we can get as a form of money and if there are new, what would it be its advantage?

They will have a hard time of thinking it but let say they still manage to come up with something new, its difference won't be far away from cryptos and to bitcoin but people will stick here to the old one because it's already proven and tested. Newer technology will still be buggy and will take a long time for it to become stable. Let us not worry because we still have a long time to enjoy our very own crypto.

20 years ago nobody would believe there will be something called digital currency (cryptocurrency) that will be threatening the very existence of fiat, same thing happened years back before the advent of fiat, most of the medium of exchange back then where slowly replaced with fiat.

Now with the technological advancement of this generation it is very likely something more advanced will be created, the world is evolving very fast, new inventions every now and then, so it is possible something new will replace crypto in the future.

There were digital currencies even 20 years ago. I mean they weren't as big as bitcoin but that is mainly because of blockchain, bitcoin became the digital currency everyone accepted because of the backing technology it had with blockchain. So, everyone who worked on such projects knew that one day it would happen, didn't know when and didn't know how it would happen but they knew that it would one day be perfected and happen.

The first ever happened in 90's, we are in 2022, that is over 30 years of trial and error until this day, but if we look at 2008-2009 period as the start, that was a decade of studies done on how to perfect it as well.

Crypto has not really fulfill that aim of serving as money so far and perhaps it may or may not (it is under probability) because the future is not certain and it is possible that some group of people are already exploring something new and different using all the loopholes of crypto or btc as a case study.
There is always a possibility as long as human exist.

I agree. Cryptocurrency has great prospects and to date, not all functions are working at full capacity. Cryptocurrency has a great future ahead in the payment system, and this must be implemented first, It will take time. After that, it will be possible to think about the next steps in the evolution of money. Today you can think about it in order to implement it in the future.

Just like Ecash and Hashcash paved the way for the ideas of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency.
BTC and other cryptocurrency will pave the way for the next technology and innovation that may come.

Perhaps I may just be another type of crypto that could work better then what is out there then now.

Time will come and from the ideas of least expectant there will come another project of innovation.

When viewed from the security side of course there is no doubt that crypto is a payment system with the best security at this time, everything can be controlled so that it deserves to be the main choice of investment at this time, the thing that still makes it difficult for bitcoin to grow bigger because there are still many countries that are closed for investment. accept bitcoins.

But this isn't the question, is it? 

For now crypto seems the higher end of technology but as time passes by, technology evolves.  What seems the latest today may be obsolete in the next 5 decades.  Development, improvement, and evolution.  Once this kind of technology is improved or perfected they might find another name for it.  Same way how the terms metaverse and NFT are created.  So I think, crypto isn't the final stage of money evolution.

5 decades is such a long term to use , because even a year or 5 things can be obsolete and wont exist anymore .

But of course there are things we must consider as development comes from here and there and offers new things but let us be aware that most of those are BS promises and will end nothing in the future.

I don't know if perhaps i'm overthinking this, but considering the evolution of money from the beginning of time where different things have served as a medium of exchange and now currently banknotes.

On same trend, we are slowly witnessing the evolution of  money to crypto and i can't help but wonder if crypto is the final stage or there may perhaps be another revolutionary idea to replace crypto as money after crypto has been accepted.

Evolution is a continuous process. Changes will continue to happen in the future. We don't know for sure if crypto will be the final stage. Perhaps there would be something to be discovered that is much more better than it. Nothing is ever certain except the dynamic changes. Hence, we should always be flexible to adapt in these to be able to survive. You see, the top of the crop won't always be the star, sooner or later, something might establish a new thing to replace that or even co-exist with it having the same benefits or even exceed it.

But surely, this would take time before it happens. Transition and adjustment from the development and growth is always possible if people are willing to embrace it. For now, let's cherish the systems that we have such as fiat and crypto because we benefit from it and it's really useful to be a store of value and even payment method.

Is crypto the final stage in the evolution of money? No Cryptocurrency can not be the evolution of money because evolution is something that points to the future and no one knows what the future holds.
Mind you, Gold was seen as the evolution of money 5,000 years ago before it was replaced by fiat currency and in my present generation cryptocurrency may be seen as an evolution of money but it is not because a new form of money will be introduced in a thousand of years after today.

15 years ago many people thought that the blackberry system was the last and the best for chat, but after the advent of android the blackberry is now dead, just like today we say that bitcoin is the best, I believe one day it will die and be replaced with a better system in every way.

The lesson here is that technological development never really stops and if you want to remain at the top then you need to always innovate, fortunately for bitcoin it has some of the best developers around the world, which means that even if there are other good coins in the market they find it difficult to complete against the bitcoin developers and the first mover advantage that bitcoin has, this is the reason why I think that if there is a new coin that could surpass bitcoin it will have to be something completely new and innovative and not just another cryptocurrency, otherwise bitcoin developers can just eventually add those features to bitcoin and avoid the scenario you are presenting.

yes, that's true,,, but it will be very difficult to replace the role of Bitcoin because it is already known by many people and its adoption has been very massive globally ... unless Satoshi appears to the public and destroys the smart-contract he designed, which where it wouldn't be possible

Actually we don't know if cryptocurrency will be the final stage in the evolution of money because I believe as long as the technology keep on developing and improving there will be new ideas come up that could be similar to crypto or much better. The future is unpredictable, human mind is so smart that it could possibly invent new technology that will change our lives. There maybe another new finance system that will be introduce to us but one thing for sure crypto will be there for long time.

That’s right, there is no end to the possibility of what we can be able to do in the future. If you go back in the last century and tell humans then that there will be such things as the technologies that we have today, they would all doubt it because they can’t see the possibility of having such technologies. But, today we have them.

there will more breakthrough in financial technology which is maybe could be as alternative payment system and replace fiat in daily transaction. with blockchain and bitcoin adoption in many place , it will attract new technology in finance industry. transaction speed and also fee will be main solution build. but its will not easy , many obstacle will appear just like how bitcoin rejected in many countries at early.

You do not even have to go 100 years, if you go back time just like 20 years ago, and tell me that we would have today's technology when I was a kid, then I would be shocked as well. Right now we have things that I wouldn't even dare to imagine, and people are acting as if they are regular parts of our lives. I mean primitive versions of them existed in some capacity probably but it wasn't easily accessible for everyone.

Even the technology of PC world improved so much, the internet grew so big that just those parts mean a lot to me. Do not get me started on VR and 3D printing as well, we have so many things right now that it's beyond bonkers. Blockchain and crypto world could grow beyond our imagination for sure.

No matter on how great would be the progress but still it wont really be enough on beating up fiat system but rather they would really just still remain as an alternative or an option.

Yes, its true that we are progressing and we are seeing new ways which is way more better and capable than with the old system but cant deny that as long that government do make use of them
then it would be understandable that it would surely remain no matter what.

Not sure Crypto Currencies are the finals to the evolution of money.
If you take a good look for example for why Bitcoin was created, in financial crises and times to provide and solve what fiat couldn't do as we have seen them at several periods as they are very effective for the main reasons they are created.
During the Afghanistan war.
During the Covid pandemic.
During truckers incident in Canada and also during the on going Russia/Ukraine invasion.
Bitcoin and other Crypto Currencies have stand out ,but all this will be history some day as I don't think this is the final stage to money evolution..
